I noticed something in the internal elevators. Between G - 36 it runs quite smoothly (judging by the sound). But between 36 - 68 it runs less smoother and rather rough (also judging by the sound). Idk if that has anything to do with the stopping at 36th floor. I never stayed at that hotel so... idk. I never been to Dubai before. But planned to go there.
I suppose that such difference is due to the presence of shaft doors with their equipment on 36 to 68, while ground to 36 is mostly a blind shaft (save for occasional emergency rescue doors, if there're any), though I felt that the ride quality in both sections was quite similar. Also I highly suggest visiting Dubai at least once, once you've got time and means to do so; an elevator enthusiast is unlikely to go bored there. This typical hotel, I felt, has good value for money, especially during the summer (provided you can withstand heat of 40+ degrees)...
I actually tried filming there, but they were extremely crowded on the day I visited, and eventually had to give up after multiple attempts. I'm not in Dubai right now, but will actually be there again next month during a short stopover; I'll see if I can film there then.
@@markselevatorsandetc.937 thanks for the reply! Indeed its extremely hard to record the elevators there. I stayed at the Gevora Hotel and it took me days to record it properly and upload, because every time there were many people But they are very nice Xizi Otis Skyrise 7 m/s :)
@@markselevatorsandetc.937 Also, an information regarding the elevators at Gevora Hotel. There are 3 types of Elevators. All are Xizi OTIS Skyrise, but serve different floors. 3 elevators serve all floors from 0 to 41, they go 5 m/s. 2 elevators serve floors 0, M, 12, 41-74, they go an impressive 7 m/s. 1 is a service elevator. I did not manage to ride it, but it serves all floors from -3 to 74. Its extremely busy though.
Speaking up for the speed difference with the scenic cars, the non-scenic ones might travel at a speed of 5 m/s between G-36, and might travel a bit faster (6 m/s) between 36-68 if judged by the sound.
I stayed here once! Very good hotel, the elevators were amazing too!
the lift sounds bring back lovely memories of my recent stay...thank you
You're welcome! :)
This is NexWay High Speed, not GPM-4H as that model is only available in South Korea
