You’ve actually made me very interested in seeing this film. Previously I had zero interest in it, even though Deborah Kerr is star of my 3rd favourite film of all time. It would be difficult to justify going out and buying it but it’s one to now look out for on a streaming service or secondhand. Good job 👍 😀
Both films adapted from James Jones novels; he changes the names of the characters in the books, but essentially the analogues are that Clift is Jim Caviezel and Lancaster is Sean Penn in Thin Red Line.
I was going to watch this for the pearl harbor anniversary but the blu ray is kinda obscure in the states. Theres lots of dvd versions of it but i would rather go blu. I might look into the reg B disc.

Definitely worth a look!
A prequel to The Thin Red Line! This film doesn't help my crush on Deborah Kerr!
What's the connection? Haha, same but with Donna Reed.

Ahh, interesting, thanks.

It's frustratingly been released in 4K in the US and in Europe but ONLY in one of the big multi-movie Columbia sets.
