Sounds like a good way to set yourself up to be taken advantage of. Try a TOS and conditions contract outlining the shots. Small business owners and startups often try whatever they can to get free photos for nothing. There's ways of making sure reshoots aren't free and some people no matter what you do will never be happy and want more. If they slander you in my country you can take them to court for that

Perhaps the best "Sales training" video of all time! I had been very successful in sales my whole career and even retired at aged 50. Lived all over the country and your tips hit is off like huge plus!!!! I like the part about leaving things on the positive because, as I always told customers, "If you want to do me a favor, get me into a new account!!!" I would even offer a $50 bounty if when I wrote the first order to sometimes!!! The point of your video is "You are always building your business!!!!" Also, the mention of things in three is true and I learned that lesson from a landscaper. Always plant odd numbered amount of shrubs because the human mind will see "three as a group" where it tries to "divide four into two sets". If you asked a group of people to remember three items and a different group to remember four, the group will significantly know the three but will also remember only two of the four! Something to keep in mind when I shoot a group or composition, if I got four people who want to be in a shot, I will move them in front of a wishing well, nice flowery shrub or whatever makes it into five subjects, people are much happier with that! Food for thought, if you want to do a follow up on sales based theme, consider doing one on "Closing"!!! Photographers are like fishermen who look at the bobber and wait for fish, there are other ways to get that fish hooked and into the boat, that is the other complaint I hear most people make.
Thank you for all you teach, you are number 1# in all things photo on TH-cam!!!

Moonpie! wow! This fabulous comment totally hit a home run! I agree with you 1005 all the way, especially when u mentioned the "I would even offer a $50 bounty if when I wrote the first order to sometimes!!!" - thanks for teaching us and sharing. Valuable insights from a sales veteran like yourself. The way you write and share, i can tell u are good in Sales and kind selling. Thank you, MoonPie. Love the point about "CLOSING" too there.

Great advice, Andrew! Have you thought about making a video on how to get clients? A couple of days ago we celebrated the 4th of July and I went to buy some fireworks from people who I’ve been going to for years. The last two years they didn’t sell because of Covid. So they were asking me what have I been up too. I told them I am now a professional photographer and gave them my business card with a QR code to take them to my Instagram page for my portfolio. They were talking about how great my firework photos where a few years ago and that people thought they were taking stock photos off of google to advertise their products. I grabbed my gear and went back to them and asked if they would like a quick photoshoot for free. They accepted and loved the photos. They showed their boss and now I have another client. He wants to hire me from now on to take photos of their fireworks so they can have photos to show their customers what they look like and what they do. That free shoot I did, they still gave me $100 worth of fireworks for free. So I still got something out of it and a new client. They also advertised my photos in a video they made on their Facebook and tagged me in it and put my business at the end credits. They asked where did I take my classes at and that’s when I mentioned you, your website, your TH-cam, and told them if they know anyone that’s into photography or videography to check out your site.

Sure there are a few bad customers who will create trouble in bad or good situations. Often, the problems are caused by photographers or providers. When problems arise, customers find out that photographers "scam" or mislead them. Photographers have fine prints on their business policy to protect themselves, but they are still the one who set the rule and fail to clarify them. The result is misinterpretation or false expectations from the customer's point of view. Usually, photographers oppose what the customer want. Your own advice is a prime example of it. You said "you can always offer choices like more photos, more albums" due to cost or profitability. This is pre-meditation. You know well that customers want everything. After all, they pay you to photograph them or their events. Photographers used customers' own photos or events to hold them hostage. Reputable photographers are the worst because they can use their status as leverage to maximize profit. Photography is all about creating memories, and sadly in many cases, photographers manipulated or abused the process. By default, photographers SHOULD GIVE THEM EVERYTHING and offer extra services such as editing specific photos or albums.
