@@kossowankenobi "Strain on the gold." I'm in Act 1 I still have not done the goblin camp or the swamp among other things. I already have over 5,000gp I've never had a strain on my gold except for the very beginning. Step 1. I loot everything. I do mean everything. Even rotten food. If the game allows me to pick it up and sell it I do it. Especially in the beginning when I am still poor. Step 2 I have a character in my party with a high persuasion skill donate items to two vendors Arron and Dammon until my approval with them is 100. (Game does not explain this well) Step 3. I continue to loot everything and sell it to those 2 vendors after every long rest. 2 or 3 long rests later and you should have thousands of gold. I'll be honest. Once I get to the point where I have more gold then I need I don't loot everything. If the items have little value or weigh a lot I don't bother. I'm not saying people have to play this way, I'm just explaining how to make gold a non issue if you want to. I've also played stealing almost everything I wanted. But if you don't have enough gold and want more gold this is a great way to get more. In another game I playing with another person we have over 10,000gp and we are currently in the early stages of the Underdark. When spoiler leaves the grove area I will usually start using a merchant found in the Underdark and raise my approval rating with them. I prefer to always have 2 or 3 vendors to sell to with max approval. To be clear. I'm not telling anyone how to play. Play the game your way. But if you are having gold issues and don't want to steal from all the merchants this method works extremely well.
Im really enjoying watching you play your way, minmaxxing is so boring cause everyone just looks up the most optimum build and does the exact same things there’s so much fun in discovering cool interactions and complimentary abilities for yourself, im currently trying out an idea for a multi class I had that I have no idea if it’s gonna work but I’m gonna have fun trying it!
Same! For roleplay purposes I wanted to build a true githyanki gish and looked up a good fighter/wizard multiclass, only to find everyone saying the build is shit... I've just ignored them and done it anyway lol. And it gave me the itch to multiclass like crazy. Now I've got rogue/bard Astarion and warlock/paladin Wyll as well. 😆
I've played D&D since the early 90s. Didn't understand the magic until I spent dozens of hours in BG1/2. You'll learn a ton of "D&D skill" playing BG3. You're attentive enough to pick up the details, and you're keen to explore.
With the scrolls and picking spells upon levelling up, Wizards can just learn spells from scrolls by right clicking them in your inventory, costs a little bit of gold (less if the spell is in their specialisation domain) but means Gale or any other wizard can learn a whole lot of stuff and be a bit of a swiss army knife for certain situations. You might realise this later in the video as well or a future video but regarding the cleric specialisation on Shadowheart, they pick their specialisation/domain at character creation cause it's their god derived powers and is a bit fundamental rather than most other classes who pick it up a little later at 3 or 4. So you didn't "not" get to pick one as such, they just picked one for her since she's a companion and you don't create her. Her trickery domain is very weird though and niche to actually use though so obviously picking another one in a respec is perfectly valid.
Don't right click on a scroll, instead go to character sheet -> spells menu and click on the tiny book icon and it shows you the tick list of all of the spell scrolls you can learn from currently in your inventory and their associated costs and spell levels.
Don't be afraid to respec and experiment with whatever build you want to go for. You're more than welcome to do so, its why its in the game so you can play around with what class you like. I will note this however, if you respec a Wizard who has learned spells through a scroll, they will lose any spells that they have learned when changing classes! Good luck and continue having fun!!
I want to add that once you learn a scroll spell, the Wizard won't forget it even through respec, but they only have access to it through the Wizard class. Gale can turn into a Sorcerer and lose access to his learnt scrolls, but if he respecs or multiclass back into wizard, the spells will be available again.
I think that's a great way to play gameplay-wise and to just enjoy the combat system of the game, but I personally find it mega immersion-breaking for a true RPG experience. Still, roleplaying and experimenting are both fun!
@@Safiyahalishah yeah because it is immersion breaking, i made an elder great one warlock, i have a pact with an eldritch entity that i can't even comprehend 99% of the time, how would i just choose to be anything else on a whim lmao. but as a gameplay feature sure, especially the multi-class can be immersive as-well if you make your character around it.
Looking at the way you want to play this game, I reckon Mini-Mapo would make an excellent bard! High charisma with proficiencies in persuasion, deception and intimidation etc. Bards are awesome fun to play. This playthough is going well. Can't wait for the arachnophobia triggers next episode.
I remember when I first went into the well and immediately thought "Oh, am I about to meet Shelob in here?". My main character is a barbarian berserker and it didn't help much!
I got a differnt quest at the Zenth, after i deal Gold with Rugar in the cave befor the Gnoll Attack to help him and ripp him off, the Zenth gave me the Chest for deliver at Baldurs Gate myself , also i am a Member now of the Zentharim and got a discount on the Traders
Don't hesitate to respec the other companion characters. Some of their base stats are kind of BS. Which is why Shadowheart constantly misses for example.
Hey - since you asked about Feats - you get a second Feat lv 8 - and a third at lv 12. However Fighters and I believe Rogues as well get an Extra Feat beyond the normal 3 feats everybody gets (4-8-12) - Fighters lv 6 - Rogues 10 ? On a fun note: Love that Mapo puts his trust in a literal Demon that he just met 10s ago :D - Its DnD - Dont trust ANYBODY XD
you're the first person I've ever seen point out the weird Lae'zel pause! it happened after Patch 3 I believe and I noticed it right away and I know it's a bit silly but it annoys me so much lol what I'm pretty sure is happening is there's an empty "line of dialogue" between her greeting and the choices popping up, because if you skip it'll usually cut off her line and not bring up the choices, whereas if you skip any other companions greeting they'll keep talking while the dialogue choices appear. I remember immediately making a bug report back then, but I honestly don't think it'll ever be fixed because most people aren't that bothered by it 😅
It would be interesting to see a multi class monk/bard. I’m on a run with a bard/ranger that’s working out pretty well, but a bard and a monk is something I haven’t heard of someone trying out for a combo.
I get playing this without much dnd experience Mapo, I had even less than you did when I first started, literally the only thing I knew about DnD was that it was turn based haha. The game quickly grew on me though and since playing it I've watched the first 2 entire campaigns of critical role lol
How is Critical Role? I've been thinking about getting into it for years, but the sheer volume of it is quite daunting and I don't have much time to binge. Would you recommend it to someone who usually watches one-shot campaigns?
@@Safiyahalishah honestly, as someone who went into it with no prior dnd knowledge other than baldurs gate, I was hooked quite quickly, the voice acting and RP segment are the best parts in my opinion, and the DM is awesome too. I usually leave it on as a podcast while working
@@jemaselite8076 It does have some pretty incredible voice actors at the helm, I've heard as much. Matt Mercer is probably the main reason I've been considering it for so long hahah. Well you've intrigued me. Is it Forgotten Realms (the world in Baldur's Gate) or a homebrew setting?
@@Safiyahalishah it's a homebrew setting, Matt Mercer created the world, it's very in depth and we see different continents throughout the campaigns, it's actually very cool
Gale and Astarion are amazing companions just for dialogue, observations and background banter. I find it hard to go anywhere without Gale or Astarion, just for their funny observations and commentary. Gale: Intelligent and sarcastic. Astarion: Wicked and snarky.
One thing I noticed now that I recently started playing BG3 again, is that when choosing spells at level-ups or buying scrolls, you don't get to see what ability saving throw they require. It would be quite important thing to know, if you are after a wide range of spells that you can use against enemies with different weaknesses. I'm pretty sure you used to able to see that in my earlier play-throughs, but I'm not sure. Of course it helps if you actually know the spells, but for newer players that might be an issue.
Move all your arcane spells to the wizard. Then learn all the arcane spells into your spell book. Then choose all the spells you can cast and use them daily. 49:23
My last run I did I was a Tavern brawler monk, who was also a gnome. It's kinda funny you're doing the same things. If you respec your character to have more strength it's like the best build in the game because it adds your modifier to your attack role and damage, so you basically never miss and do tons of damage.
You activated the goblin trap at Moonhaven becuase you left hiding by clicking on the hide button after your jump. Jumping does not end hiding so you could have kept sneaking around.
It's a good thing you did think to summon Shovel with Wyll rather than your character, as it's only possible to obtain Shovel as a permanent summon with either a Wizard (by scribing the scroll into their spellbook), or by doing what you did here and summon her as a Warlock + speaking to her twice. 😂 If your character had summoned her, she'd be gone forever once she died in combat lol. Shovel is a blast, good job on getting her on your first playthrough, I completely missed her. I think I found the scroll and then just forgot all about it 😂 I'm also getting tired of seeing all this Trickery Cleric slander in these comments! Certainly it's not the most OP domain in terms of it's Channel Divinity but it has, imo, one of the best Cleric spell lists for control + debilitation and it's specifically geared toward complimenting a Rogue and enhancing their abilities. Like don't get me wrong, respec her however but enough of this nonsense that it's MANDATORY to respec Shadowheart out of Trickery domain. None of the other domain's are lore-appropriate either, which is worth considering on a first playthrough.
Camp decoration is a thing you can do. Anything you drop in your camp will stay there. While each location has unique camp sites, the items you decorated one camp site are not lost when you move to a new location. All the items are moved to the Camp Chest, but will still be in the spots you left them when you return to the location where you used them as decoration.
For the feats: Alert is a good one, I always put it on my player character so that no matter who I have in the party, I always have someone who's immune to being ambushed. For the most part I think just improving ability scores is the safe and efficient way to go, but you miss out on some more fun effects that way. Elemental adept - fire is also huge, because fire resistance is really common in this game. I think I usually stack multiple elemental adept perks on Gale, especially when you pick Evocation as his subclass dealing AOE damage is like his main job. Speaking of Gale/wizards in general, you will rarely come across scrolls for cantrips and you should have him learn all of them.
I'm currently running Laezel as a champion sentinel-pole arm master tank and its simple and destructive. As for feats in general, the dnd optimizer in me feels weird not pushing primary stats to 20 asap but the game doesn't need it. Embrace the feats and the creative builds!
@@Blueschist13 awesome. That bug was awful. It was actually that when you moved into range of an enemy with a polearm, it would trigger the pop up for the attack, but the ENEMY would attack you. Of course, you could press no, but it tricked me at least once.
I love the 'hiccups' around 32:45 😆 My guess is that you were reading it as 'hic' but [sic] is for when you're recording/quoting what someone says and they speak with 'grammatical errors,' but when you want to record what they say ver batim, you don't want to alter anything that they said, even to be grammatically correct, especially in cases like that page which looked like a court document. So you write down what they say and how they say it, and add [sic] to it afterwards to signify that your written errors are intentional since that is exactly what the speaker said (at least I'm pretty sure that's how it's used, lol) Also I'm very glad that you're going into this game with almost no knowledge of DnD or what's good, what's not, what's meta, etc. That's how I'm going into it too and it's way more enjoyable to watch someone also figuring it out as they go along. It's just not nearly as interesting or fun to watch someone play through something if they already know what path and build they should go straight for, without and trial and erroring and experimenting
Dude that spooky thumbnail is so intriguing and “moonhaven” is an awesome name. When you finish this LP, I’m gonna WATCH the heck out of it 😂 Finished your Deus Ex LP. Currently on your Splinter Cell one. Hope you’re getting better btw ❤❤
I wish more than anything that you had had a friend that explained how stats affect attack roles because it looks like you constantly get upset about the low percentage of success
I love how you point out you don't know as much about D&D, but you picked some great synergies right off the bat. Tavern Brawler for an Open Hand Monk is very strong, especially if you focus on your strength stat, and the Polearm/Sentinel is pretty good in BG3, but it's a classic OP feat synergy in tabletop. You have a lot of flexibility, so if you think of something you think would work well, you can always spend some gold at Withers and switch up your ability points, your feats, and even your classes. There are a ton of viable routes in this game for your build and your party, and discovering those strong combinations is one of the many cool things in this game.
Eldritch blast on a wizard is ok - Eldritch blast on a warlock can be a game-changer, particularly if you choose the upgrade that adds your charisma bonus to the damage roll and repelling blast I too didn’t know much D&D going in, but made a loooot of use of the respeccing once I realized what was and wasn’t working Huh I thought only wizards could memorize the scroll so I put the quasit on Gale!
Not sure if you find it in the episode, but there's a small hole in the ground through moonhavens North Gate, just along the wall to the west. It has a book container, can get rid of the book bag, get a book book.
Every build is viable. There are OP builds. But go with what you feel. It will make for a more interesting playthrough. With how seldom you long rest I really would advise looking into elixirs. I always end up with too much unused stuff eventually so spend it!
1:48:23 You can put things in camp but you have to remember that 5hey don't transfer from camp to camp (example: cave camp is starter camp). So you have to remember which camp you leave things at if you want to retrieve later.
You're very thorough. 3 full campaigns done, and I've never summoned the Cheeky Quasit! That's what so great about this game, you can't see everything! And you can also just do roleplay and ignore the rules if that's not your thing, allthough the rules are elegant and fun.
Lae'zel's dialogue box taking a while to load is a remnant from EA. No idea what causes it but it's always been like that (at least on all the hardware I've seen, even the really good stuff).
A barbarian's unarmored defense is calculated as 10 + dex modifier + con modifier. For a stereotypical Str based barbarian character you start with about 16 con and 14 dex (or vice versa). Meaning that your unarmored defense AC is 15. Basic, unenchanted breastplates give 14 + dex mod (max 2). With 14 dex meaning your dex mod is +2, that means you can wear a breastplate and have 1 better AC than a typical unarmored barbarian. If you are willing to accept having disadvantage on stealth checks then a barbarian can wear a halfplate for 15 + dex mod (max 2) AC for 17 AC, making them have an AC that is 2 higher than a typical unarmored barbarian. Unarmored defense on Str based barbarians only really starts to catch up with armored defense at around level 12, and that requires further investment in Con (or dex, but Con is typically done). Unarmored defense normally won't start pulling ahead armored barbarian til level 16, which isn't even present in unmodded BG3. Whereas a Str based barbarain who just wears medium armor can have as good or better an AC for the entire duration of the game and also invest in other things since they don't need to focus on Con. Now if you play barbarians my personally preferred was as Dex based builds then unarmored defense is really good. But for most barbarians unarmored defense is a trap. It is not very good at low levels.
To translate what @@phantomsplit3491said into English: Unless you build your Barbarian to have high dex, throw on anything that suits her up to medium armour, and don't worry about the rest.
Hey brother, just to give you a small tip on leveling/feats: tavern brawler is the single most powerful feat you can take for a monk. It not only increases your damage but your ability to hit as well. Seeing how annoyed you were because of all the misses, tavern brawler will be a great feat for you. Just put all your points in strength or put them in dexterity and find one of those potions that automatically raises your strength to 21. You'll be a beast!!
Tavern brawler is great but only works on thrown, makeshift or bare handed and despite the fact that he is playing as a open fist monk, he still uses a quarterstaff which nulls the effects.
I love playing support and always have so many concentration spells and I want to use them all in battle, but I guess a feat where you could multi concentrate would be too op 😅 It would suit Mapo the Gnome to multiclass so he could be a monk bard! (or a bard monk?) It's hard to stop experimenting with different classes so much so that sometimes I resent Withers a little for being so easy to use! 😂
He can't multiclass when playing on Balanced difficulty setting though. Isn't that something you can only do if you begin playing the playthrough on Tactician mode? I've never actually played on Tactician myself, but can't wait until I'm ready to try that out just so I can experiment with some fun multiclassing 🙌🏼
@@marthelea You can't multiclass on Explorer difficulty, but on all the others you can. It's also possible to play on Explorer and then change your difficulty when leveling up and then change it back down 😊 (I started playing recently so I don't know if before it was different)
@@luminemo oh! Maybe they changed it then? I have two campaigns ongoing (one durge and one regular), but I think I started them both before patch 6. Both are on the Balanced mode and I am now level 8 and still no possibility for multiclassing 😕 I also think it would have popped up when you're leveling up? Maybe you have to start the game in Tactician mode so that it pops up as a possibility the first time you level up and then you can change difficulty as much as you'd like. Or it is something they patched in that I've yet to experience 😅 I actually haven't tried changing the difficulty to Tactician just to see whether I might be able to multiclass then when I level up. Could check that out as well perhaps! 😊 Or it's just extremely hidden in the game on PS5 and I just can't see wherever that is available on the level up screen 😆 I'm super curious now though!
You had Karlach do a Reckless Attack on the skeleton guardian for your sneak/surprise attack, but the only thing Reckless Attack does is give you advantage on your attacks, and since this was a surprise attack, you already had advantage, so the Reckless Attack added nothing.
I loooveee doing weird multiclasses (it’s usually suggested you stick to multi classes that share the same Main Stat, but no! I like having TWO STRONG STATS and Real Weaknesses!) so I kinda hope you go MonkBard.
While Monk / Bard wouldn't usually be my first suggestion to a player, there is an interesting argument for it that's very specific to Mapo and this exact playthrough if he wanted to go that way. 1) He's playing on Easy, so combat min-maxing shouldn't really be the goal in the first place at this difficulty. 2) The most dangerous thing he does is high-risk Sleight-Of-Hand shenanigans, and Bards do get Expertise so he can double down on some skills. 3) While Rogue would usually be the way for a DEX Melee character to go in that scenario since it also gets Skill Expertise and 3 Levels of Rogue even gets you Thief for extra bonus actions that you can use on Monk attacks, since he's not aiming for optimal Bard is a thing that he brought up naturally and he does have a love of hats.
Got trolled by a Shovel xD. Nice. Also funny how she was so happy that the sphere came out to burn stuff. Whimsical writing mixed with high fantasy and some great dialogue is always fun. Not that the game will lack for dark moments as well. To be fair, for picking feats/spells/skills DnD 5e knowledge would help, but not as much. Because it is homebrew, and in general, you just read what things do and pick to your liking and test how it works for you. If you don't like how it works, find feat useless - respec, and dont' be afraid and second guess, just respec. Trial and error basically. I didn't have much prior knowledge of 5e, so went with this approach, just like any new player (although had plenty of knowledge with previous Larian games and cRPGs, which helps for sure). Lots of new players, even to RPGs, go the same way, so ... the game is pretty easy is what I'm saying, just lots of reading involved. Personally, I disagreed in this EP with pretty much 90% of feat picks, spell picks and itemization, and not for min-max reasons as well, BUT that's not up to me. It is always(!) a personal experience, and even more so - as far as I understand and see people discussing builds, items and so on, everything (subclasses, feats, skills) should work nicely depending on personal preference and play style, even some more underused/fringe spells or skills.
Luckily he shouldn’t have too much trouble with bad feat picks/optimization since it’s balanced difficulty. It’s kinda nice cause he’s struggling where I figure most people struggle even on an easier difficulty
@@MrJmrallo eh, on Balanced it could be a challenge, even on Explorer, seen plenty of those posts :). Which is fine. It is mostly how to make it unfair in your favor within the action economy, tho, not feats/items/skills. Trying to fight fair is usually what adds to the challenge. I would say good equipment and using it "correctly" is also would be more important than feats. But overall, on Balanced, it doesn't matter, I completely agree. Plus, as I said, that's on me or anyone who disagrees, not saying he should pick anything in particular. Mostly addressing the fact he started to explain maybe not optimal feat picks or spell picks - my comment is basically saying "who cares, all good, I might disagree just like any other Joe over there, it is your playthrough and not ours, and you don't really need to have DnD knowledge anyway". There are plenty of these type of discussions overall, even on r/BG3Builds. All I'm saying - not arguing, it is personal preference. He just said in the video about "DnD knowledge" and "min-maxing" and I kind of support this idea, because this game is not that heavy on min-maxing (it is RP/exploration/problem-solving game, mostly), even tho the system itself is very combat/offense oriented.
How does tavern brawler work for a monk, extremely well, theres potions and items that can boost strength. High Dex/wisdom and boosted strength is insane.

Backpack: that specific person's personal items, like Karlach's soul coins, Astarion's lockpick/disarm kits, whoever's got the book of Thay will put it in their backpack Pouch: I'll have everyone carry a pouch, and designate them as "arrows person" or "scrolls person" or "poisons person" etc, so I always know who's inventory to open for a specific item. Ever since I did this I spend far less time searching through my inventory trying to find something I need in the middle of a fight.
The mod is great but it ruins the balance on this difficulty and it sometimes screws with companion input in conversations. Probably not ideal for a playthrough with an audience.
I wonder if you need to use something like Enlarge spell to make yourself bigger to pass as Ilun Toth because mirror says "tall". Certainly you gotta be a human, well, I think. Idk about this one, never tried myself, just as a guess based on this EP because of the wording from the mirror, or it was just a response to a gnome who doesn't match the height, and if you're not a gnome there is some other difference and different line. Interesting, probably not, tho.
It's hard because any charisma base character just does so well with dialog and I feel like a lot of people (myself included) like having good conversation ability.
@thatguycaz since the some new updates, you can use other characters in your party. So take a high charisma character for those dialogue options. I usually have a warlock, paladin or bard for that reason. But I don't really have any issue with using other characters for dialogue if I'm really wanting to pass checks.
@@thatguycazYeah it feels really strange when you’re used to how 99% of video game RPGs handle stats to come to these D&D games and have to make a character be a paladin, bard, warlock or sorcerer if you don’t want to be a bumbling fool in every conversation. I get why it’s like that but to me it feels really weird to link your conversation skills with a a class-specific damage stat. And since most people who play RPGs generally want a high “speech” stat it kind of limits you a bit in your choice of class
Man, kinda disappointed that you've adopted both Laezel and karlach as permanent party members, They do the same thing, strength base close combat fighters, not to mention your character is also a close combat fighter. Which leaves only one character to do something different in combat. That makes combat so boring in comparison, you just hit things/or shoot bow. And then you fit the last slot with Astarion, whos dex melee/bow, like yourself. You just hate magic, haha. I personally look into diversity in my party. But that's understandable, everyone's different. Just a personal gripe about the playthrough, nothing against Mapo. Also, no healer in the party sounds insane to me, but curious how you'll handle it.

Oh Tavern Brawler goes miiighty fine with a monk
The disrespect to my beloved cloud of daggers
No hate but I absolutely creased up laughing at Mapo misinterpreting sic as hiccoughs.

Don't hesitate to respec the other companion characters. Some of their base stats are kind of BS. Which is why Shadowheart constantly misses for example.
I respecced Shadowheart into Life domain and made her my healer/buffer

Hey - since you asked about Feats - you get a second Feat lv 8 - and a third at lv 12. However Fighters and I believe Rogues as well get an Extra Feat beyond the normal 3 feats everybody gets (4-8-12) - Fighters lv 6 - Rogues 10 ?
On a fun note: Love that Mapo puts his trust in a literal Demon that he just met 10s ago :D - Its DnD - Dont trust ANYBODY XD

what I'm pretty sure is happening is there's an empty "line of dialogue" between her greeting and the choices popping up, because if you skip it'll usually cut off her line and not bring up the choices, whereas if you skip any other companions greeting they'll keep talking while the dialogue choices appear.
I hope he ends up multiclassing as monk/bard, seemed like he forgot about the multiclass button while leveling up.

@@Safiyahalishah it's a homebrew setting, Matt Mercer created the world, it's very in depth and we see different continents throughout the campaigns, it's actually very cool
@@jemaselite8076 Different continents! Sick! Sounds like a story to get totally lost in. Thanks for the info my guy. My interest has been renewed.
Nice! I love how Gale help a lot new players telling things about the game and lore.
5:55 mapos pun-game is immaculate
Move all your arcane spells to the wizard. Then learn all the arcane spells into your spell book. Then choose all the spells you can cast and use them daily. 49:23
Fury of blows is just so great,
My last run I did I was a Tavern brawler monk, who was also a gnome. It's kinda funny you're doing the same things. If you respec your character to have more strength it's like the best build in the game because it adds your modifier to your attack role and damage, so you basically never miss and do tons of damage.
At the rate he rests, giant elixirs are OP.
@@kossowankenobi Haha that's true

This was a great episode 😂 I like how side tracked you keep getting, that's good! You'll discover more secrets that way!
So Wyll gets Warcaster, and Gale gets Spellsniper with Eldritch Blast.
Interesting choice 😅
It's a good thing you did think to summon Shovel with Wyll rather than your character, as it's only possible to obtain Shovel as a permanent summon with either a Wizard (by scribing the scroll into their spellbook), or by doing what you did here and summon her as a Warlock + speaking to her twice. 😂 If your character had summoned her, she'd be gone forever once she died in combat lol. Shovel is a blast, good job on getting her on your first playthrough, I completely missed her. I think I found the scroll and then just forgot all about it 😂
I'm also getting tired of seeing all this Trickery Cleric slander in these comments!
Shovel is a blast.
Maybe a stupid question, but why not have the webcam in the top left since there's rarely any HUD there?
1:39:08 Yes, a healer.
This playthrough is so much fun to watch
I'm currently running Laezel as a champion sentinel-pole arm master tank and its simple and destructive. As for feats in general, the dnd optimizer in me feels weird not pushing primary stats to 20 asap but the game doesn't need it. Embrace the feats and the creative builds!
When did they fix Snetinel/Polearm Master? Last time I tried it, your reaction attack gave the enemy the attack intlstead lol
@@playlistb3795 Not encountered that bug and I'm on the latest patch.
@@Blueschist13 awesome. That bug was awful. It was actually that when you moved into range of an enemy with a polearm, it would trigger the pop up for the attack, but the ENEMY would attack you. Of course, you could press no, but it tricked me at least once.
I love the 'hiccups' around 32:45 😆
My guess is that you were reading it as 'hic' but [sic] is for when you're recording/quoting what someone says and they speak with 'grammatical errors,' but when you want to record what they say ver batim, you don't want to alter anything that they said, even to be grammatically correct, especially in cases like that page which looked like a court document. So you write down what they say and how they say it, and add [sic] to it afterwards to signify that your written errors are intentional since that is exactly what the speaker said (at least I'm pretty sure that's how it's used, lol)
Also I'm very glad that you're going into this game with almost no knowledge of DnD or what's good, what's not, what's meta, etc. That's how I'm going into it too and it's way more enjoyable to watch someone also figuring it out as they go along. It's just not nearly as interesting or fun to watch someone play through something if they already know what path and build they should go straight for, without and trial and erroring and experimenting
i can tell you now, you may want to get better gear first before daring to go through THE WELL.
Dude that spooky thumbnail is so intriguing and “moonhaven” is an awesome name. When you finish this LP, I’m gonna WATCH the heck out of it 😂

I had no idea that quasit even existed, that's wild!
you can even learn it as a spell and have it all the time!
Your BG3 gameplay is highlight of the week!
Eldritch blast on a wizard is ok - Eldritch blast on a warlock can be a game-changer, particularly if you choose the upgrade that adds your charisma bonus to the damage roll and repelling blast
I too didn’t know much D&D going in, but made a loooot of use of the respeccing once I realized what was and wasn’t working
Huh I thought only wizards could memorize the scroll so I put the quasit on Gale!
Not sure if you find it in the episode, but there's a small hole in the ground through moonhavens North Gate, just along the wall to the west.

Please please do a dark urge run. It's so different but fun. I'm on my second durge run now -pure evil...but after DA Veilguard
giving karlach armor? I thought it was better if barbarians didnt have armor
To translate what @@phantomsplit3491said into English:
Unless you build your Barbarian to have high dex, throw on anything that suits her up to medium armour, and don't worry about the rest.
Speccing for unarmored really limits your gearing options in other slots. Not worth it IMHO. Looks cool tho. :)
@@phantomsplit3491 Very well put, there is a common misconception about it how Barbarians "should NEVER wear ANY armor"
Back from the Outback!
Or when you fight the ogres and try to ambush them from above they will knock it down and you can fall.
3) While Rogue would usually be the way for a DEX Melee character to go in that scenario since it also gets Skill Expertise and 3 Levels of Rogue even gets you Thief for extra bonus actions that you can use on Monk attacks, since he's not aiming for optimal Bard is a thing that he brought up naturally and he does have a love of hats.
watching and wondering when Mapo will discover the "skill tree".
There's not a LOT of charisma saving throws but usually if you fail a charisma saving throw you're pretty fucked

Pantry chest (found in Emerald Grove in building the paralyzed tiefling is located, she's leaning against it, EASY to steal after you have your big party): all my camp supplies go here
Gilded chest: dyes
Cartilaginous chest: all things that go boom - oil barrels, smokepowder barrels, etc
Wicker basket: books
Ribcage (yes, you can find ribcages that are containers!): corpses go here, for my companions/myself to summon undead from spells
Rustic chest: all my camp clothes go here
Wooden crate: random items, like brain jars & various other things I've picked up that I want to hang onto
I do a similar thing with my party's personal inventory...
Backpack: that specific person's personal items, like Karlach's soul coins, Astarion's lockpick/disarm kits, whoever's got the book of Thay will put it in their backpack
Pouch: I'll have everyone carry a pouch, and designate them as "arrows person" or "scrolls person" or "poisons person" etc, so I always know who's inventory to open for a specific item. Ever since I did this I spend far less time searching through my inventory trying to find something I need in the middle of a fight.
have you considere the party limit begone mod?
The mod is great but it ruins the balance on this difficulty and it sometimes screws with companion input in conversations. Probably not ideal for a playthrough with an audience.
I wonder if you need to use something like Enlarge spell to make yourself bigger to pass as Ilun Toth because mirror says "tall". Certainly you gotta be a human, well, I think.
Idk about this one, never tried myself, just as a guess based on this EP because of the wording from the mirror, or it was just a response to a gnome who doesn't match the height, and if you're not a gnome there is some other difference and different line. Interesting, probably not, tho.
you should do LIVE game plays!
Sorting things in bags and chests is pointless. You can sort by most recent and search for anything you are looking for.
Pls dont respec into bard every letsplay is a bard (do whatever you want)
Monk is so powerful when built properly, too. Bard is more of a support role that mainly focuses on dialogue
But I don't really have any issue with using other characters for dialogue if I'm really wanting to pass checks.
idk, everywhere I see is either a tiefling sorc/warlock or druid elf
Since you can just throw potions, you dont need a dedicated healer
