      Yeah they’re great bikes! But even the greatest have flaws.

      You have any other jokes? That tells me how much you know which is nothing! Suzuki DR650 Yamaha TT600 and Kawasaki KLX650 were all superior to the RFVC motor which was a Honda 4 valve 1 cam junk. The worst motor Honda made.

      @@anthonynicholich9654 i hace possesed all the bikes You are saying, tt600 carburator is a pain in the ass, klr650 camshaft chain tensioner and automatic decompresor always giving headaches, and the dr650 at least here in austral south america is very dificult to get spare parts. Honda rfvc, no problems at all. I do however ride daily an XT600e but that bike is not as good as the honda.

      I can say that are out here way better bikes made than this one.

    These are actually great bikes, had some experience with them. I can say they have similar issues just as the XR400 - 1) The cams wear out pretty bad (as they feel to be made out of butter) 2) Make sure when changing oil to clear out the screen in the bottom of the frame, that usually gets blocked and results in bad oil pressure. 3) The electric system is not a battery fed, so no additional lights or gismos can be fitted, and if the capacitor fails , well you're in for a big surprise of faulty lights etc. 4) Some parts are really hard to find - mostly the electric ones 5) Check the frame - rear part (usually breaks under load under the seat) and the whole frame - sometimes rots away pretty bad (The NX650 Dominator with the same engine usually has less frame problems, but is heavier). 6) Biggest problem for these bikes is - they are pretty durable and work great as a farm bike - so usually no one cares about maintaining them. The result is - you almost cant find one, without the need for a total restoration. Good luck to everyone owning one!

    I have 3 xr600r. An 85,86 and a 97 also had an 88 aswell. The twin carb models I think have the smoothest power delivery hands down but are more difficult to deal with. My 86 is by far the most powerful. An insane beast as its uncorked and breaths freely.

      The single carb bike is much better if upgraded with a fcr43 carburetor. I have the fcr carb, the hotcams cam and a high comp piston and it pulls away from modern 450‘s

    Sweet looking bike. I had an XR250R back the 90s, best dirtbike I ever had, I think it was a 1980 model, pretty old but still lots of fun.Still have a little XR80R for my kids to ride around.

    I have a HONDA FMX 650, engine it`s almost the same, not a really bad bike but it`s not a really good one either, bought it second hand i just rode it 2100km with high quality brand new oil in it, it consumes a lot of oil, the timing chain tensioner loosened up and the engine started sounding like like a tractor, put brand new timing chain tensioner in, after a few more km the right exhaust valve seat came loose, i can hear it literraly only encountered a lot of problems with this bike, i wasn t ridding it hard, just casual riding somethimes a little acceleration and it never got too hot, since i had a oil gauge to show me the oil temperature, in 2000km almost consumes 1 liter of oil, and also not really good at fuel consumption 120km with the tank without switching it to reserve, also it`s really underpowered, the bike weights 180kg and the engine only has 40hp, with dynojet carb improvement and daves mod, overall it`s not that bad as a bike but there are other bikes way better made than this one. I will personally never ever in this life buy another oil/air cooled bike they are the worst, even if oil cooled are a bit cheaper, and mentenance it`s easier it doesn`t matter since it`s the price you pay for far worse failures of the really hot running engines.

    Like the vid mate . Im from the uk and have a 92 xr6. I encountered the hard start , was the stator. I see so many posts about xrs that are hard to start.stator . Check it after the usual easy stuff , will save you some time . Awesome bikes!

      The XR400 had a resistor built in the spark plug cap, which a lot of people eliminate and replace with a little rod the size of the resistor for easier starting. I don't remember if the XR600 had that resistor though

    Great! Can you make a video about all differences between all XR/XL/XL600LM/XL600R etc? I've been looking for that info everywhere and there is no one simple answer about differences

      Thank you very much. all these stupid people finally someone with brains. Yamaha TT600 Iwas more powerful and it did not have a top end valve train problems like the Honda but people are nerow minded and followers.

  • @anthonynicholich9654
    @anthonynicholich9654 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    RFVC is the worst motor Honda made. Top end valvetrain problems up to wazzu. Yamaha TT600 Kawasaki KLX650 and a Suzuki DR650 all had better motors. All these compliments about XR600 shows how narrow-minded and followers people are.
    Did I mention both XR 600 and CR500 3rd gear problems? Yamaha TT350/600 had none of those problems.

      RFVC it`s bad i have a HONDA FMX 650 same engine as HONDA DOMINATOR AND XR 650 same engine i have bought it second hand as my first A2 bike, only 2100km after i bought it the timing chain tensioner started to get loose and the engine sounding like a tractor, brand new chain tensioner, sound was gone, now the right exhaust valve seat came loose because the poor cooling and manufacturing error, i havent event forced the engine or rode it too hot i have an oil gauge the most i hat was 120 degrees celsius, i will just sell it, extremely underpowered also.
