When I was a kid, I lived in Harrisburg and I delivered newspapers to the 1300 to 1800 blocks of homes on Paxton Street. We used to live at 1920 Manada Street which is two blocks away from this home. Sad to see these homes go up in smoke.
Once the primary search is confirmed as negative, the Truck Company assists with fire attack. If the fire turns into a defensive fire, the truck company can use their stick or platform as an elevated waterway, similar to a water tower from years ago.

I've never been to Harrisburg, but duplexes (and semidetached) are a pretty commonplace design in Hazelton, Tobihana, and Scranton... They can be a bear of a fire to bring under control once one gets a foothold in such a structure...

Can anyone explain the different gear set ups seen in this video ? Light colored bunker gear , light colored gear with red/orange reflective trim, yellow helmets , black helmets . Turned up rear brims . There was even a chief walking around in hip boots turned down . Any explanation to the helmet shield numbers ? Some matched the company , some seemed like just numbers
Orange and tan coat and pants are officers and the lime and tan are firefighters ... yellow and black helmets are worn on all firefighters except chiefs having white the officers do normally have a white frontice on their helmets though
What do you think all the hoses going inside were for? Watering the flowers? Interior attack, then flashover in 3rd floor, then evacuate, then exterior attack with tower ladders.
Must be a water problem since they let the house on the right burn. Sorry firefighting otherwise. That one guy on the steps at start of video was in the way and just stayed in the way. Later he goes in 1st floor room, fiddle farts around, goes down hall a few feet, comes back out and goes back in same room a couple more times. Does nothing the whole time. Chief's son I guess. Chief is white that dude on the porch isnt... and it's not a issue of bad job of fighting the fire... it's a problem of the city having a lot of areas with poor water supply and it is sometimes hard to get a good constant supply.... these guys are so well known for their work that career departments bigger then them send their men to the seminars that they host...
