Niko here, cool video! I like a lot the way you analyzed the game, you understood a lot of things without knowing the sets. Just a couple infos I wanted to give about some turns/sets to give better context at my plays: 1)About his Excadrill: I switched my Excadrill in expecting his one to switch in as well by purpose, to get Stealth Rocks down and remove his Air Balloon at the same time. It was particularly important to remove his Balloon for Earth Power Diancie. My guess about his Adamant nature was due to usage, since Ada is way more common on Sand Rush Excadrill, especially when Balloon, and due to the fact he run it Adamant in other teams too. He also switched it in vs 94% Volcanion without thinking too much, that would have been a roll in my favour if Excadrill was Jolly and at that point trading Diancie would have been much better for him. Worst case scenario I was going to play a speed tie. 2) Dragonite was indeed Inner Focus, I know people isn't much used to it but it's not a super rare tech in 2023-2024. It's very useful to surprise MMedicham and MLopunny when they Fake out to break your Multiscale, and turns out to be useful vs Sand Rush Exca too. 3)My Weavile didn't have any boosting item. My timer was low, so I couldn't calc the damage of no CB Knock Off vs Itemless Exca and decided to accept the 10% risk of missing. In hindsight a 0HP 0Def Excadrill was going to survive a single roll out of 16, making the chance of killing ~93%. Better yeah, but not by a large margin. 4) Diancie had protect to mega evolve safely, but yes, I decided to keep it unevolved to live the Earth Power from pj's MDiancie. I saw it could come up to that and decided there was no reason to Mega earlier. Overall it was a cool game to play, the lead helpt me a lot for the final win. His Sand Rush Excadrill was extremely dangerous, luckily the Hippowdon wasn't Smooth Rock and I managed to take it down early regardless. I look forward to next Thursday, when I will face pj again in the ORAS Invitational Grand Finals!
I love Volcanion so much. Both in design and in competitive play it's just spectacular. Unfortunately i have to dock it points for learning Scald in vanilla SV
Custom engineered Assault Vest Steam Eruption, Lava Plume, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power Volcanion was one of my favorite sets of all time. Unconventional but unable to have matchup it couldn’t contribute something against. I like playing with lots of rope compression so it’s impossible to predict what I will try and close games with!

Please stop giving me hope of daily uploads, I won't be able to wait like a month for a new upload if you keep doing this man.
have no fear, SPL season is here!
@@BKCplaysPokemonWell that's good news, plus another potential video about gen 3 or 4 is a always a good thing.
Glad you are planning to cover SPL. Would've liked to see you play as well. Your ADV run in last SPL was insane.

You might need a new computer chief this thing is dropping more frames than an art thief on a getaway
Nothing like SPL season. Any particular teams or narratives you're keeping a close eye on?
all I hope for is maximum controversy and drama
@@BKCplaysPokemon just unban Mazar
what could possibly go wrong?
Idk what happened but as end of video it kinda just becomes a power point unless you hit next turn
It makes sense, because earlygame and endgame are the two game states you can "solve" and truly guarantee yourself the win
The lag on the showdown replay is wild 😭
Could you do a tier list for ORAS once SPL is over?
Please do more spl oras coverage! :)
What if Spikes could have 3 layers in GSC? (Not sure if this has been done already.)

Blaine's Killing Cubchoo
ORAS burn is a slow and insidious killer
3am uploads go crazy over here
this is what i needed
I think the game was definitely lost on pjs fault once hippo went down. Sand excadrill would have went crazy
Yasss let spl begin
Hell yeah SPL stuff
BKC
I always thought this thing looked like a blastoise with more edge.
Do spl usm video please
it´s funny how people used to think volcanion was unviable

The Tornadus burn shows why I prefer old burn over Gen 7+ burn. 12% chip is much, much better against Regen cores than Toxic and the current burn.
Yes let's make scald even more powerful
@@FenShen-us9tv I mean scald is not really common in gen 8 and 9 anyway
@MrPatrickbuit Huh? Toxapex spams scald in gen 8. Gen 9 it doesn't have it, but there could be more scald users in gen 10.
At this hour, huh
