Very unique and genuinely frightening portrayal of Dracula! I remember a line by Anna, "An evil that shows itself as a man when it wants to hide its true nature." It's so unsettling to think that in Stoker's novel, the versions of Dracula Jonathon and the others saw were his disguise, the human skin he wore, and now we know this terrible, demonic creature is what was underneath all that time. Truly chilling, and I'm awed by seeing the work and effort the cast and crew put into this. Well done to all of them!
I really enjoyed this film. It made Dracula scary again, not campy! The studio didn't market this film heavily and dumped it at the end of summer season which usually indicates lack of confidence. Regardless, I think it really rose above it's potential and the creators turned in a solid horror film. I liked the "primal" version of Dracula as a hunter but balanced with him still having some level agency over his actions. This is a nice companion piece to Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).
Or they were that confident the movie will speak for itself and doesn't need marketing. In my experience- heavily marketed movies (or anything really) are, more often than not, worthless.
Absolutely!! And obviously there will be one! Virtually all of the Dracula movies have been regurgitated over and over and over again. This version is refreshing!

In the genre of Horror, UNIVERSAL DELIVERS! GREAT MOVIE! despite the hate that it gets, but to each their own. Honestly wasn't expecting much coming into the theater because of the online reviews, but I enjoyed the "Hell" out of this movie, so did my girlfriend. Every actor was brilliant, and Clemens is my new favorite Dracula character. Can't wait for the sequel! Great soundtrack too!
this is how I envisioned a true vampyre. A demon in a dead human that looks like its been decaying for years,hell I think this monster would make a great match against the Jeepers Creepers monster which to me are similar creatures of the undead
Great to see that Dracula was a real being rather than CG. Practical effects are always better than A.I generated images..I really enjoyed this period piece. Dark...moody....claustrophobic...I enjoyed being in a darkened cinema with a bunch of other horror fanatics. Movies are entended to be shared en masse ....Love it. This movie has a great cast...very competent and believable. All in all..a nice bit of entertainment...in fact I may go see it a second time with my squeamish friends. Great channel...nice to see behind the scenes trailers. Kudos.
He's not too monstrous in the original novel. He's an old guy with a white moustache and pointed ears. Stoker knew what he wanted his own character to look like right? He was never meant to resemble a gargoyle from hell.
I truly enjoyed it, not a perfect movie, but you could see the passion put into it. This Dracula was really brought to life by the actor (the cgi toward the end was sadly noticable, as were the studio decisions (certain dialogue on social themes and that ending pub scene), but overall, a good end product
Loved this movie! It had great, creepy, Gothic atmosphere. I honestly felt sadder for the crew the 2nd time I watched it, but that is the testament to the pathos of the human narrative that is on display here. Like Alien, or even Titanic, just replace the xenomorph/iceberg with a more primal version of Dracula, Last Voyage is a doomed ship drama soaked in heart, soul, n blood ⚓️💔🦇
as it was not released due distribution problems in the u.k and alot of other european countries i.e spain italy and a few more, plus india. universal lost so much revenue there in no way there will be a sequel. .if universal had put its release on hold for a month or two till they had sorted the problems out it could have been a big hit.
I have a feeling that if you watch dracula untold first then last voyage after that Dracula tv show, you will understand the whole story here why: Dracula untold is how a man who wanted to safe his family and people but turned into a blood-sucking monster. Last voyage is about that monster wanted more blood so his people (villagers) sent him to London and what happened on his way there. Dracula tv show is when he arrived to London and his journey there

I've seen clips and short movies with Javier Botet playing different characters without his face buried under special effects makeup; The dude _can_ act! I would like to see him diversify beyond costumed horror creatures.

honestly I didn't like this movie, but I would really like a sequel since the last scene in the streets of London is what I have enjoyed the most. plus, Dracula wearing a hat will always be enjoyable😅

Would u go down to darken part of the hull even the day time with just a stick in your hand? These sea men didn't know about the vampire mythos. The only one who knew was the girl. The stowaway that men considered a jinx. Would u immediately believe her? And the idea that characters do stupid things in movies. Well, people do stupid things in real life too. Anybody here voted for Biden? This film is a classic. Eventually be called a cult classic up with Carpenter's The Thing.
And why when the boat was so close to land and he flew did Dracula not just leave the boat in this movie and go in land. Oh hang on yes he forgot hus passport and worried immigration would reject his application for entry. He was claiming asylum on grounds the villagers back home wanted to kill him.
Ok first thing, the movie should have been called Dracula’s Voyage. I personally don’t mind the title but I’m sure there are people out there that don’t know what the Demeter is and aren’t aware that this is a Dracula movie. I’m sure that didn’t help ticket sales. Secondly, this movie is mostly good but it’s not great and trust me I wanted it to be. It fell into the trap most horror movies find themselves in where things are way too predictable and drawn out. Not talking about the plot here simply the kills and attempted scares. There were a few moments where the director shined but mostly he spent way too much time on tension rather than shock value which would’ve worked better due to the fact that everyone in the audience knows what Dracula is and what he’s capable of. They should’ve focused on shocking us with brutal kills and really creepy imagery of the Count which they did only a few times. Thirdly, the actor who played Dracula was wasted. His scenes were so creepy and well executed but were minimal and later replaced with the CGI version. In terms of design I enjoyed all depictions of Dracula in the film but the potential for really disturbing imagery was mostly wasted. Overall I’d give the movie a 7/10 and sadly it seems it will NOT be receiving a sequel due to a poor release window and lack of either interest or awareness.
I would disagree I thought his scenes were not minimal but, impactful and that is plenty enough I think. It’s not so much about getting Dracula more screen time but, his scenes were quality and quite impactful. The cgi didn’t really bother me that much, didn’t take anything from the film nor did it improve it, it served its purpose but, overall I’d give it 8.5
The movie was ok, but quite boring and some really stupid things. It could have been much better with some changes. I liked all the actors, they were good.

I love the fact that Dracula is played by an actual person instead it being a CGI or animatronic character.
