@@BeeHatGuy nice! i love the mix of shows PUR does, love her channel! i didnt really watch PETE AND PETE as a kid, in first run since i live in Canada and didnt get many american channels where i lived , only in reruns later in the mid 90s , i thought she was purdy, then when i was teen , shes funny and beautiful now as an adult and as i am also an adult now lol
It's so funny that in Alison's case, the switch from a creative industry to med school was concerning haha. Usually, family is worried when someone quits their stable, medical career to pursue acting. Great interview!
It's refreshing to hear that a lot of these people who were on these shows I loved as a kid had a great time making them and became happy, successful adults. I'm really glad that not everyone ended up with an "I'm Glad My Mom Died" horror story.
Man, Adventures of Pete and Pete is something I haven't thought about in so long! It did make a mark on my late childhood. The show gave the best feelings of all the cast being friends!
Hearing Alison in this interview, she seems really nice in real life as well as on the show. I always had a place for you in my heart, if you are reading this. I am so glad you are doing well and have gone on to great things with your life.
What a wonderful interview! Ellen was such a cutie in The Adventures of Pete and Pete. I thought she did an outstanding job portraying the role of Ellen Hickle in this awesome and exciting television program. Watching reruns of Pete and Pete is in so many ways so nostalgic since I have not seen it in so many years and forgot a large portion of the program. The friendship between her and "Big Pete'' is nice to watch. Alison Fanelli is very beautiful indeed!
This show formed me as a child. I had the BIGGEST crush on Ellen as a kid. Everyone else loved the pink ranger, but me? I loved Ellen. That and the freakin soundtrack. SO GOOD! I loved it so much I picked it up on vinyl a few years ago.
Really cool interview! I always wondered what happened to Alison. So rad that she got to succeed in both showbiz and medicine. Hat tip to Pushing Up Roses for sending me here.
I grew up watching the show. Little Pete and Ellen were my favorite characters. Cool video! Thank you for sharing this stuff, brought me back to the 90’s❤
Thank you alison for doing this. I grew up with this show, so it means a lot to hear you talk about it now all these years later. I was, like a lot of people wondering what you were doing now. So it is great to hear from you again and to find that you are happy and doing well in what you are doing now. I also want to say thank you for acting on such a wonderful show that people will still be talking about in twenty years time.
Alison, just so you know you were definitely a "crush" for some individuals. Even when I was young I had a thing for the "quirky" girl. The geeks. The non-Barbies. You were (are) awesome! :)
Really interesting, I could listen to her talk way more about each episode. Hope there's more in the future even if that's unlikely since she has no internet presence sadly.
Looking back it’s kinda sad how underused Alison was in the last season. Take into account how few episodes there were to begin with, and her screen time doesn’t add up to as much as you’d think. The last development in her relationship with Pete is her realizing she has feelings for him then choosing to disregard them in ‘Crisis in the Love Zone ‘. Not exactly satisfying for the audience. That being said, she did have two great parts in the last two episodes, which were both really good. I’d like to think that they could have developed her character more in the 4th season... but we’ll never know. At least she got the star role in “X= Why?” which, looking back probably had a much bigger influence on me as an existentially curious kid and future philosophy major than I’ve realized until now. Alison, if you’re reading this, thanks for playing such an awesome female character. You represented the kinds of girls I knew in my own life, and I think that means a lot. Honestly, I think this show meant a whole lot more to me than I ever gave it credit for until recently. Best wishes to you and the entire cast and crew. Hope to see more of you in another reunion someday.
My Fav show growing up. I didn't crush on Ellen I was more of Alex Mack but Ellen is great. Moved from NJ to Florida when show was aired. 90s were amazing
I'm going to be real if alison reads this comment honey you need to get back into acting I get it living a private life I understand but you would be perfect on the big screen and I truly feel like it'd be a good move and I'd love to see you in some more shows and movies legit
I just randomly found this great interview, Ellen was one of my crushes too, Pete and Pete was incredible one of my favorite TV shows. I'm active with Danny and Mike's podcast!!. Steve Buscemi is a great actor too like he went from Phil Hickle to being Tony Soprano's cousin gangster lol. Great job Chris. Sopranos you have to know as well. Ali could've rocked a role she's similar to Meadow tell her.
Neo maxi zoom dweebie that I am, I actually do remember those early interstitials. In expressing my gratitude to the good Doctor (whose apprehension and avoidance of publicity or media such as this has been, frankly, only too sensible a habit) realizing that I have only the impersonal sterility of text among the roiling deluge of a comment section shows another way in which words fail me where a handshake and smile would better say what this paltry substitution attempts. My subscription goes without saying. With all that in mind, I say to both host and guest: Thank you very much. For this, my little vikings, is indeed most PIPE!
i,m here b\c of Pushing up Roses doing a retro look back of the adventures of Pete and Pete :D
Chad Guiry I almost wonder if this interview wasn’t her inspiration. That’s why I’m here too, in any case.
@@Pavlovianmodel146 awesome! high 5! fellow Pur fan :D Alison has grown in to a beautiful lass
Same here. :)
I just found her yt show and this is how I found this video too lol

I remember watching that show and kind of crushing on Ellen. I always pulled for Pete and Ellen to get together.
Just listened to this in 2021- say hi to Alison for me and tell her I still love Pete & Pete
Yo! September and I stumbled on this after watching some pete and pete
Great interview! Ellen was my first crush.

Alison was just an actress who portrayed Ellen. You have Ellen in your heart, not Alison.

My most favourite show as a child, I still love it! It was excellent hearing Allison's perspective on the filming of the show.

As someone who HATED Algebra as a kid I loved "X = Why? "
Ellen ❤. Glad to hear she grew into a successful adult.
You two look alike! :) It’s always fun to hear about the “behind-the-scenes” of any show or production!
Ellen is a doctor now
Pete and Pete was shot on film? I wonder if Nick still has all the master tapes lying around...
you know I was surprised that you two were siblings, watched the Tome Episode which had the commentary
I wonder if anyone who was injured got fixed up by Alison and recognized her but couldn't figure out from where 😁
Melissa is actually from Long Island too.
all 3 seasons are on primewire.li im watching them now
Zetto and Splat in one Kirblog

she is in her 40s now lol she's not a teenager anymore
Nobody said shit about her being in her teens that has nothing to do with the statement I made
@@fastcab3339 she hasn't done anything in over 26 years, is married and has kids. I think it's safe to say she will not be in anything these days.

Saw another Pete and Pete video on TH-cam and it brought me here. Always wondered what happened to Alison #Ellen4Ever
Ellen you are beautiful. I hope you read this.
I'm hoping that the series soon will go up on Paramount Plus.
Same. Been checking every week to see if its on there.
They're all on youtube

Yo can't belive we just saw this around the same time!
She has a few times! She just last year did a Zoom reunion, actually.
