- Gaza's Hamas-controlled civil defense agency says health workers have uncovered the bodies of 283 people buried in a hospital courtyard in the southern city of Khan Younis. They found the apparent mass grave at the Nasser Hospital. The site was previously raided by Israeli forces. The agency says some of the dead had no clothing, indicating they may have faced torture and abuse. Israel's military says it is checking the information, which has not been independently verified.

it was likely more to do with religious burial practices and safety concerns by the hospital. The graveyards and the mass graves were known and some were partially dug by Palestinians. Have to stress that it doesn't mean that the IDF absolutely did not add to these graves when they occupied the hospital.

@@EdmondLups desperation in war is a thing and in order to respect religious practices, they have to bury them somewhere. Aerial footage shows palestinians digging graves before the IDF took control of the hospital.
Apparent mass grave -- hmmm lets see. What else could it be? Maybe a theme park? Maybe its Hamas fighters waiting to ambush the IDF? Maybe lots of mannequins fell off a lorry? Could it just be a bunch of people laying down having a rest?

The evidence speaks for itself. Saying it "hasn't been independently verified" is disengenuous, at best.
Not really, it’s not like no one has faked evidence before or that there is no possible motive. False flag operations are a staple in war and you should be skeptical always. If the Israelis came out with some horrible crime they say Hamas committed I would want that verified too.

@@simonlleshi4395 From what I've heard, it could be down to religious customs where bodies have to be buried asap and the hospital being forced to do this due to being in a conflict area. Sounds more plausiable than 'this was a massacre and the IDF tried to literally bury the evidence'.
It could be that IDF, when occupying the hospital, added to the numbers but it seems as if the likely explanation is what I explained in the first part.

So you had a hospital operating in a warzone and why would we be surprised that the hospital staff or IDF buried the dead in a grave on the grounds? Being naked could also be indicative of medical patients that were brought in stripped for treatment but expired. Given the situation not redressing the bodies may have been more a sign of the stressed situation rather than torture. Hamas will certainly ensure the optics of this are as dark a possible but I would be interested to hear from the hospital staff which operated it immediately before the Israelis took it to know if this was part of their procedure.

The Palestinians killed 39 Asian workers, care givers, students and one African worker when the Palestinians attacked Israel last year.
The innocent victims from Asia and Africa had nothing to do with Gaza.

As bizarre as it sounds, it could even be possibly that this is both a war crime committed by the IDF (they added people they tortured to these graves) and also the hospital burying bodies to adhere to religious funeral customs with Palestinians also digging bodies.
But if you’re asking why they’d be able to find this quickly, a more likely answer would be that Palestinians knew where they were because it is a known graveyard and were aware of mass graves.
