I will be excited if Shazam joins the JSA, which means we get more Hawkman, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher from Black Adam. But who knows what Gunn will keep. It is a positive sign that Harcourt was the one recruiting Shazam.
Thing is I'm pretty sure nothing in this movie matters. Gal Gadot isn't going to play WW anymore so what was the point of having her in the film? Most likely all of these scenes including the Harcourt one was done before James gunn
With the way WB marketed it i had no interest to watch it. But i still went ahead because my friends forced me to, and wow I'm actually surprised, this was actually very good.
Yeah. I love the character and loved the first movie, so I didn’t really watch any trailers. What was wrong with the marketing? I loved this and am disappointed its not doing well. You would think the first one had a lot of momentum
I think Shazam has a opportunity to return since James has stated that his (Shazam) films always felt self contained and not really connected, so after seeing some of the members of Team Peacemaker (Or Task Force X) appear at the mid credits I definitely have a feeling that we might see this child like superhero once again. I honestly can’t wait to see the next films especially Blue Beetle.
Yeah, I feel Shazam, like Black Adam, was ok. Self-contained movies so you don't need to watch dozens of other films to understand this one. For me, that's what makes it just "ok" because I like how each marvel movie these days are connected in an underlying story that only comes to fruition after a few years. The big sale for me, though, is the story and characters. Shazam 2 I feel is better than the first because the first story seemed lame. Also, there were not many DCU characters. Shazam 2 brought in more of the DCU universe and the post credits brought in more characters showing their faces so you can see which actors/actresses are still in the DCU. No offense to the DCU, but I still like the MCU with the exception of Thor Love and Thunder. The story in that was too cheesy and I felt like Thor, Zeus, and Gorr were lame and underpowered.
Shazam would've done well with 1) better marketing and 2) James Gunn not coming in and throwing everything into limbo. I watched it last night and really enjoyed it! Never watched the final trailer due to it's "spoiler" nature so it was a nice surprise. I can see why the director was miffed. It would've stood out SO much more if they hadn't done what they did.
Since it is *Mr. Gunn’s wife who recruits Shazam* , it becomes very likely that Zachary Levi will stick around as Shazam in the new DCU, alongside *Gal Gadot’s WW* . ❤⚡️
@@juanmaale It's better to have less damage than total damage. Gal is the definitive version of Diana Prince/WW and must continue. As far as her interacting with new Superman and Batman is concerned, there's already a precedent in the MCU with the Avengers and Emil Blonsky interacting with a new Bruce Banner/Hulk, Ant-Man interacting with a new Cassie, Tony Stark and Pepper interacting with a new Rhodey, and in near future Sam Wilson interacting with a new Thaddeus Ross.
Shazam was a definite highlight to the DCU for the first round and I’m hopeful that it’ll hold for the next going forward. Watching this before seeing the movie is an obvious spoiler, and that’s fine. Still excited.

Just watched , the Shazam kids/ Shazamily are very refreshing! The different personalities but same powers resembles the power rangers. The magic is so destructive & dark. The team has a great dynamic. The only problem is they might not come back
I think Shazam works great when you view it as a standalone. It just gets messy when you try to figure out where it fits in the DCEU. It's like Antman in the MCU.
I agree with you completely about WB' s and DC's recent PR disaster/Box Office poison generating diarrhea of the mouth. They should have just said that Gunn is taking over and then let these movies play out instead of announcing "Oh yeah these movies don't count because everything is getting rebooted but we're going to release them anyway. We've learned nothing from The Snyder Cut which is the Goodfellas of superhero movies while we put Grand Wizard Wheedon's disaster in theaters and pumped $200 million into marketing it. Maybe Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2 will matter but then again maybe we'll fuck the audience over like we did by throwing Cavill in at the end of Black Adam and then shitcanning everyone 2 months later. Oh, and we love the fans. I'm supposed to say that. It's right here in the memo."
Haiz realising that this dceu will be ending gives me the same dcau ending vibes, sad but hopeful for a better DCU like how Constantine ask Berry to run 2 fix.
At the end when he gets his superhero name, instead of saying "I think we can beat it", Freddie should have said "No, no, that's too predictable. What about Captain Ma---" then immediately cut to credits.
Not gonna lie, I expected Wonder Woman’s cameo and it was still BADASS. The music gives me goosebumps every damn time! ALSO: Amanda Waller series should have a cameo for Cadmus and Batman Beyond.
I felt like Wonder Woman’s cameo felt kinda forced. Billy dies then like 2 or 3 minutes later WW shows up and helps resurrect him. I feel like maybe let him stay dead then in Shazam 3 have him come back
@@FourthStreetSaint I see your point but they made it clear that this was the GREEK pantheon, their uncle hades, the greek monsters… that makes the daughters of Atlas literal kin to Wonder Woman?

I liked it! It’s a good follow up to the first one, but WBD is stupid for spoiling that big cameo. I think word of mouth would’ve generated better ticket sales than this desperate ploy. Also, I wonder if leaving the post credit scene in is a good sign? They didn’t need to have anything, especially something that ties into Gunn’s DC projects so much.
This was so clearly a children’s movie. And should’ve been marketed as such. All of the little kids in my viewing were rolling laughing pretty much the whole time.
I enjoyed the movie, but man oh man do these 2 post credit scenes bug me. The fact that they invited him to join JSA is great, but now it makes me wonder whether they are actually rebooting anything or not. I think that they should have released the movies without any post credit scenes, because they really don’t know whether or not they are going to continue with any of these storylines. If anything this is just making me more annoyed that they kicked Henry to the curb.
Watched this movie on opening day and it was a fun movie to watch I did think it dragged on with some parts but overall the humour and action in this movies was fantastic Ps love the marvel references Love your videos heavy spoilers keep up the good work
James Gunn's wife has been in 3 films total and the Peacemaker series. She only has a proper supporting roll in Suicide Squad and in Peacemaker. She makes a cameo in Black Adam, and a post-credit cameo in Shazam 2. Obviously thats nowhere near plenty of other characters.
People keep shitting on DCEU films and then wonder why James Gunn is starting over from scratch. I can't wait to watch this film, from what I've heard it seems fun. People take things too seriously lol.
WOOOHOOOOO Paulie's back rockin the Spoilies! So good to hear your voice again, nothing against Jared, he's good enough... but he's no Paul. Haven't been watching Mando or LoU, so I missed hearing your vids. Heard this ending got massively spoiled, but it seems like DC is kinda throwing poor ZL under the bus with giving away some important bits. Keep em coming, not sure if I'll see this one right away, but I appreciate even getting a little Theory Time to tick all the happy boxes.
I want Mister Mind to come as a post credit scene is every Shazam movie, and going away saying he has a plan, but he is slow and doing nothing with him in any movies.
I think Mark Strong should be the GOAT of all post credits scene without actually paying off. His first post cred scene appeared in GL (ryan reynolds) as Sinestro. then in Shazam 1. Then here in the sequel. Such a waste of Strong's talents. He could've been Lex Luthor for the new DCU.
I honestly didn’t care to see this. I was cool waiting until it hit HBO max but I think I’m going to go check it out now after watching your video. Great job!
Enjoyable film while not being as good as the first one. I hope and think The Shazam Part Of This Universe could continue with The Soft Reboot hopefully Levi's Shazam stays and is in Waller.
Saw it the day after it was released in a practically empty cinema. It was a really fun film, not one that takes itself too seriously! It was quite disappointing how pact the screening for Ant Man was in comparison - I really didn’t think Quantumania was anywhere near as good - and that’s coming from someone who’s usually an MCU fan
I wonder what ppl think about putting spoilers in the thumbnail like that. On one hand, channel's name is Heavy Spoilers, so one expects that and it's fine within the channel, but on the other hand, the way YT works, this can be put in the feed of ppl who are trying to avoid spoilers and don't watch enough TV to see the spots etc. Perhaps pixelate the face at least? But then again... it's just Shazam 😆. I usually hide channels that tend to spoil things when I really want to be surprised (Endgame, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness) but it's getting really hard with YT advertising popular content, and not everyone has the possibility to see the movie in the first weekend etc. Would be cool to hear what do content creators think/do about it, and how ppl deal with avoiding huge spoilers.
Sorry but WB already ruined it with their marketing. A week before the movie came out, they started running ads with Wonder Woman's appearance in the movie
you do know those scores done on RT is done by critics who get paid for their so called reviews and not actual fans of comic book movies. so, that score don't mean shit to me cause they aren't done by real fans or actual comic book fans in general.
When I watched it In the therapy scene the big wonder women doll was the original annabelle doll. I'm sure I saw that in the trailer as well but I cant find it anywhere
I’m confused how the gods being killed by Ares and the god world being sealed away works, + the gods power being stolen by Atlas… including some gods that Ares kills. What’s the timeline like there?
When I saw post credit the first went through my head is this connecting to Black Adam and we know Black Adam is not continuing anymore so the same probably applies here
its really weird that i didnt see a single ad for this movie, i didnt even know they had started filming it.... i only knew about any of it once these videos started popping up. just odd.
The only thing Gunn has for sure is the Superman movie, any other thing he talks about is to keep fans happy and to stay relevant. That's why he gave himself the director and writer jobs, he's just going to make as much $ as he can before the DCEU drys out again.
I honestly think this movie was 10x better than thor love and thunder, even better than quantumania, yeah it’s goofy and Zachary Levi may have played up the dumbness of his version of Shazam in this, but I feel the story was far better and didn’t feel as much like a parody but maybe just a standalone filler movie, it wasn’t the best project but I honestly really enjoyed it, i think people are giving DC a hard time rn because it’s in shambles with Gunn taking over but not being able to do anything with it yet, hopefully we see the cast return though, and hopefully the flash does a good job of setting up the future of DC and gives us some hope for the future the way GOTG 3 did with marvel. People go back and forth so much, everyone has insane recency bias when it comes to the two studios, I for one am just here to enjoy each movie!
This movie has continuity errors with the first Wonder Woman. In Wonder Woman, Ares killed the gods after rebelling. In this movie, the Wizards steal the powers of the gods because of the gods’ mistreatment of humankind and seal off the realm of the gods.

I always come here before I decide if I’m gonna go see it in theaters 😂
Yeah, I am not going to waste my money on going to the theater to see this.
This was so clearly a children’s movie. And should’ve been marketed as such. All of the little kids in my viewing were rolling laughing pretty much the whole time.
I liked it when one of the public suggested/called him Captain Marvel. His original name.
Why do you focus on that
I mean their doing an Amanda waller show right? Maybe he'll do a cameo on there?
Thanks Paul!
The movie’s ending should have just ended with his death, and then waited for the reveal as the post credit scene.
Watched this movie on opening day and it was a fun movie to watch I did think it dragged on with some parts but overall the humour and action in this movies was fantastic
Ps love the marvel references
Love your videos heavy spoilers keep up the good work
I saw the movie and its just make me happy 😊
Shazam is a beautiful movie.
7:42 Carminha from "Avenida Brasil"! 😂
11:58 oooo 😂 accurate analogy
Thanks for this. Havent seen the film, and not planning to do it 😅, so this was helpful
Thanks for the perspective. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing it!
"heavy spoilers from this point out"
Me- "HE SAID THE THING, HE SAID THE THING"
The mom for the Shazam family gives me pornstar vibes
I'm actually watching it RN 😁
You sound exactly like Domonic Monaghan. Noice!
Slick I watch every heavy spoiler video
I want Mister Mind to come as a post credit scene is every Shazam movie, and going away saying he has a plan, but he is slow and doing nothing with him in any movies.
I think Mark Strong should be the GOAT of all post credits scene without actually paying off. His first post cred scene appeared in GL (ryan reynolds) as Sinestro. then in Shazam 1. Then here in the sequel. Such a waste of Strong's talents. He could've been Lex Luthor for the new DCU.
They could bring back gal and shazam (Asher angel)because in flashpoint shazam, shazam and Justice society didn't change at all(character wise).
I honestly didn’t care to see this. I was cool waiting until it hit HBO max but I think I’m going to go check it out now after watching your video. Great job!
Enjoyable film while not being as good as the first one. I hope and think The Shazam Part Of This Universe could continue with The Soft Reboot hopefully Levi's Shazam stays and is in Waller.
this movie was definitely better then the first shazam and better then most of the Marvel movies that have came out recently.
Idk what happen with maverl the only good movie was spiderman no way home
@tvirus9369 oh damn I was thinking the only good one was Wakanda forever
@bryce mcbride still only 2 good movies out out everything marvel has push out
Anyone else mad cause asher angel only had like 5 minutes of screen time in the whole movie
yeah i liked him in the first movie, but he was barely in this movie. It was Levi throughout the whole movie as adult Billy
I’m confused but wizard gadot was funny 😂
It wasn't half bad!
The fact that Old Gods are still alive and well.
I needed this YESTERDAY
These two movies have been fun, it'd be nice to see Mary Marvel in something going forward.
Thanks
Wasn’t planning on watching movie.. really don’t need to now..
It seems like the constant will be Shazam. It will be the carry every entry
you do know those scores done on RT is done by critics who get paid for their so called reviews and not actual fans of comic book movies. so, that score don't mean shit to me cause they aren't done by real fans or actual comic book fans in general.
The thumbnail picture is why I'm subscribed, New Rockstars did the same thing, first weekend yall should know better
Had planned to go see it. But after the Wonder Woman spoiler and thinking about the DCEU reboot, I changed my mind.
When I watched it In the therapy scene the big wonder women doll was the original annabelle doll. I'm sure I saw that in the trailer as well but I cant find it anywhere
Seeing that the DCU is getting a Soft Reboot, if they decide to make a Shazam 3, it should include a proper Black Adam Origins
I’m confused how the gods being killed by Ares and the god world being sealed away works, + the gods power being stolen by Atlas… including some gods that Ares kills. What’s the timeline like there?
When I saw post credit the first went through my head is this connecting to Black Adam and we know Black Adam is not continuing anymore so the same probably applies here
its really weird that i didnt see a single ad for this movie, i didnt even know they had started filming it.... i only knew about any of it once these videos started popping up. just odd.
Peace and Love from Massachusetts
It was rather nice of Gal to make a quick pitstop at the funeral of the DCEU ( Billy ) before going to drop off her costume one last time
It was full cgi, gak wasn't there
I liked it. It was fun. I would like some of the goofier villains from Captain Marvel (Shazam).
But Henry Cavil is done with DC. I mean, they terminated his contract didn’t they? 😢😢😢
Yeah he’s out
The only thing Gunn has for sure is the Superman movie, any other thing he talks about is to keep fans happy and to stay relevant.
Maybe it's part of the flash movie where timeline is messing up 🤷♂️
I legit thought they killed off Shazam for a minute. I'm like well he's not coming back lol.
