- After a mammoth 12 hour tour of the Highlands, we returned to our base Edinburgh around 8.30 pm. The tour of Lochness, Fort Williams & Glencoe is supposedly the longest bus tour in Europe, but we were NOT exhausted! Driven by curiosity and simply the love for walking, we began wandering through the streets of Edinburgh - Cockburn St, Cowgate, Grassmarket, High St and more. This beautiful city definitely holds its charms at night.

This is my home town. I have walked these streets hundreds of times. I have never noticed how attractive Edinburgh is. It is funny how you don't always notice what is under your nose some times.
This city is beautiful...far more than anything we have in California....if I could find a job I would move there

@@luciacaro6382 because we invented The television, The telephone, The World Wide Web, the train, the cays eye, the stereo, the jet engine, the computer, the electric motor, we also invented photography, the tank, radar, the light bulb, the i pod to name a few things. We also have free education, free healthcare, we also send the most foreign aid per pdg. I could go on and on.
I'm from Edinburgh and its very pretty. London is great as is Bath, Durham and York.

I am a Scot, born and raised just across the Forth from Edinburgh. It seems I took my country and capitol city for granted. Until I travelled and lived in some fantastic areas all over the world including Ortigia Island Sicily. Now in my old age I realise that my own place is in many ways superior according to most people who visit it. I feel lucky, humble, proud and surprised all at the same time. Our culture, pride, independence of mind and nationality has survived despite the attempts to destroy it by the elite of our neighbour (and some people born here) It just remains to get control of our own country back. Thankyou for posting this.
When I lived there, 70s & 80s, every corner seemed to have a pub. Now so many restaurants.
The magnificent buildings are all the same as I went there 30 years ago. It reminded me of having a chance to take pictures with the man wearing kilt and blowing the Scotland bagpipe.(From Taiwan )

Edinburgh...memories when I went to give my Royal college of surgeon's exam. It is a timeless city with great architecture. Glasgow & Edinburgh are magnificent cities. Scotland is perhaps the most beautiful country in the world.

This broken my heart...I was there in may 2019 and walked in the same streets and although it was too cold for a Brazilian the city is breathtaking. I hope someday comeback and enjoy more!

I swear, Edinburgh is like the perfect city. Beautiful feminine women, chill relaxed people, beautiful architecture, barely any traffic, not overcrowded, and you get to live in a flat that is basically a castle. I know the weather could be better, but that’s basically it.
Believe me, you don’t know how good you have it. I’m in Chicago, an although a beautiful city, it’s very dangerous, people are generally terrified, not laid back at all (you can always feel the nervous tension in the air), people can be very closed-off and standoffish if they don’t know you, and way too overcrowded.
Try a mile away from the city centre and see if you think the same. Not so much Leith anymore but in pretty much any other direction

It's beautiful to see the city like this...with tolerable crowd levels, people having fun without getting out of hand. Unfortunately you'd get a very different walking tour in normal times.
