Dang, this podcast was an emotional rollercoaster in the best way. I grew up with 4 pets and 2 of them lived for over 10 years. I think the cool thing about getting pets when you're young is they literally get to grow up with you. It hurts like Hell when they pass but the memories are worth the pain. I work at a dog daycare and we had a 20 year old beagle stay with us. Old dogs are either like gray faced puppies with joint problems, sweet old ladies in nursing homes, or grumpy old men telling kids to get off their lawn. We had an old black lab who was bow legged so he couldn't move that fast and there was one time he was trying to catch up to these two puppies that were playing. He was getting a little frustrated that he couldn't keep up lol
I had a recent scare for one of my dogs. 😣 Both pushing 13 yrs, so it's like a matter of time. However, I've come to terms with it once I got older. More about just trying to spend as much time as I can with them. The story David always tells about the leaf on the concrete gets me EVERYTIME! T^T Ahh! I know that will be me. Lol. But I think remembering them as loved ones is the only way to move on. ^^ But I need to come get some soft serve! Everytime there is a pop-up, I can't travel down for it!! The one reason I miss living in SoCal. I got to support consistently no matter what at that time, so I can't wait for the next one so I can visit. ^^

Well I’ve never had a dog but I have pet birds (cockatiels and parakeets) and I had like 10-12 not all at once but I got emotionally attached to one of the cockatiels and passed away last year from organ problems and mind you I’ve had this cockatiel for almost 8 years and the last I remember is the bird kept flying to the living room just so she could see everyone one last time and I was the last one to hold her.
Okay now I went from sad to freaking out. I literally just had a woman that was next to me tell me her family drama and asked me to speak to her grandkids. 😭 You probably just saved my dumbass.
