Sometimes just sharing a moment with someone or hearing a story can impact you in profound ways. Iggy is certainly an experienced person and I very much enjoy hearing him speak (at least seemingly) so genuinely over a wonderful piece by Underworld. Fantastic experience of a tune this is.

The art of impressionistic spoken word and poetry have been a key element to Underworld since their rebirth/Lemon Interrupt days. Shouldn't be a stretch for existing Underworld fans to appreciate this output with Iggy. It's a 4 track EP. Besides, Iggy+UW makes a ton of sense.
Acid Lovestar I like it for what it is, and it makes sense given that it relates to Trainspotting 2. But, I can see why people wouldn't like this. It's just a preference. There are some Underworld songs that I don't care for. It would be boring if we liked all the same stuff.
Cannot argue with that assessment. Reminds me a lot of Headset, it was the first time I really heard that Underworld narrative. It's quite reassuring as I get old that the more things change the more they stay the same. Listening to Iggy talking about something to which we can all relate makes it all the more personable.
Personally, I would prefer these tracks as instrumentals. I don't really give a shit about Iggy's life and I don't find it relatable at all. That said, he has a pleasant-sounding voice that blends perfectly with the backing track. It's nice to listen to, but far from one of Underworld's classics. Hopefully they *will* release an instrumental version of the whole EP sometime... I hate it when artists waste perfectly good music...

I can groove on this no bother and it's a nice take on the 'Spoken Word' idea/theme/genre particularly as it's Rick and Karls output which,no doubt the same as all the rest of all you Underworld lovers,has that special appeal. That it happens to be Iggy makes it all the more interesting as he's well travelled on the musical highway and on life's too the latter of which is probably some kind of medical anomaly/miracle. Upon hearing this and 'Bells' I was immediately struck/delighted with the rich,earthy tone to his voice which made this track easy listening/come down or just background choonage whereas 'Bells and Circles' was more an old skool Underworld sounding intelligent techno joy. There will always be naysayers and there will always be those who expect 'Slippy' but for me it's all about the colours of the Underworld aural rainbow....'Up above the streets and houses shouting you bring lager,you bring lager' \o/ #HITA #TechnoOrDeath
It's like a modern interpretation of Van Morrison's track 'Hindford Street'. That track blew my mind back in the day, and this makes me feel the same :-)
