The NOR Flash is extremely useful for Pokemon fans, since GBA Pokemon games are ridiculously expensive these days, and being able to make DSs see the flash cart as, say, Pokemon Emerald, you can move Pokemon from GBA up to the DS Pokemon games, which is unique to this flash cart, as the Everdrive cannot do this.
@@KeiRetroGaming I try to yell about it whenever I can (lol) because it's been pretty useful the last few months, as I move Pokemon up from old games to the Switch, it's been crucial, and not many people seem to know about it!
@@kazinwho Does soft reset shiny hunting work on the gen 3 games? I know Emerald will always be wonky due to its coding but the others do they act like normal games or do they act like the repos and have the "The save file will be loaded." message?
Boot with Add On is how you access the menu on GBA games by pressing L+R+Start, just FYI. You can save state, load state and exit back to the UI from there. You can also write to NOR flash with Add Ons so you can access the menu when booting from NOR flash.
I bought the Omega shorty after it was out and love it. Wanted another one but they were ran out of parts because of the pandemic and I got a revised one. That one doesn't come with another shell to fit flush with the DS lite though like the first one though. I saw this and was intrigued but I don't think it's worth the upgrade for me but it's nice to have for others. And if it's too pricy the Omega is still a great option.
For pokemon trading, gb and gbc games do not work as they are emulated. If you intend to play and trade with gen 1 and 2 pokeman games, ez flash junior can do that as it does not use emulation for gb/gbc. Downside is no cheats, plus side is it has replacable RTC If you intend to export saves and trade or use pokehex, ezflash omega ultimate is ok
Ordered mine from AmazonAU a week ago, and it arrived 5 days later shipped from USA (thank you prime). Totally legit, works perfectly and has latest firmware/kernel installed.
I tried loading SNES games on it to test since it wasn't mentioned anywhere but when you go load them it doesn't do anything with the rom files. Only GB/GBC/GBA and NES are supported. Might be nice if they updated it in the future to play Genesis and SNES as well.
This is a great example of needing to do your research before you actually make a video. You missed a ton of information because you don't know what the "Boot with Addon" does.

I'm legit thinking of selling my Everdrive just for this feature!
@@megamix5403 That's what I ended up doing lol
Sounds like a pretty awesome feature! I would've never thought of that.

Thank you! I'll have to try that.
Thank you!!!
I wish we had an ez flash omega for wonderswan color and neo geo pocket color.
Get the flashmasta from Ed Mandy for the WS and the FlashMasta for NeoGeo..
Makes me want to upgrade from the original Omega
It's a nice upgrade over the Omega in my opinion if you want to use it long-term.
Just got one from AliExpress's anniversary sale.
How is it? I'm thinking about getting one from AliExpress as well

This flash cart seems awesome. That's pretty pricey though
What do you think is a good all-round price for it?
@@KeiRetroGaming on the low end they are about 25 cad so I guess 50-60 max cad would be a good price
I have the regular EZflash Omega, when I boot with add-on, the in game menu doesn't pop up, even when I press the right menu, anyway to fix that?.
I can't get the OSD to show when I boot with add-ons either for some reason.
so is there no way to stretch the display to fill the screen for non-gba games using the settings menu?
None that I can see unfortunately. I double checked it just now as well, no option to stretch it to full screen.
Selling save states and SD card saving as additional features from standard seems a bit scummy to me
Might just be the fact that they added the FPGA chip to handle that process versus the cheaper option
@@Swoop. I always assumed that was a software issue, not a hardware one. I can see why it might be necessary when using external sources

If I may ask is there ability to use the gba bios if it’s provided
I haven't seen the need for it anywhere.
Does this cartridge work on an unmodded gba?
Yes
it cost 90$ it kinda steep
I've found the EZ-Flash Omega on Amazon instead of AliExpress, just wanted to know if they would both work the same?
Just make sure it's shipped by Amazon and it should be fine.

Does this work with pokemon colosseum/xd?
Where can I download the gen 1-3 Pokémon roms? All the ones put in here don’t show up.
80 bucks! I keep my good old GBA EZFlash Omega...
Do Pokemon Rom Hacks work on this flash cart?
Yep 👍
Does this work with Boktai? I didnt see any control for solar emulation
There was a ROM patch for that. I used to play Boktai on a emulator
Anyone know how to take it out of safe mode?
Can the battery be replaced on this version of the flash card ? Or is it soldered to the board ?
Last thing can this flash card work with DS LITE ?
The Definitive Edition has a swappable battery and is compatible with the NDS Lite
@@og_mante5138 Thanks for answering my question
I've been having issues trading from Pokemon Emerald on my EZ flash to a legit copy of Pokemon R/S. Any tips?
Hmm that's definitely something I haven't tried before personally. If you figure it out though lemme know.
can it do snes as well?

@@KeiRetroGamingthats litteraly impossible, MAYBE genesis but not snes, even the ds can barely run it
