Had the opportunity to pay $450 to ride in the cab but also assist as a guest fireman on August 18, 2017. 2022 marked her 80th Birthday and 30 years of serving as "Steam Of The Smokies" since 1992. My first ride behind #1702 was July 4, 2002.
@@nssteampunk4865 Very cool! I rode the Nantahala Gorge excursion twice pulled by 777 and 711 when I was 5 or so. The open air car was my favorite! I rode behind 1702 on the Tuckaseegee River excursion around winter 2017. But I'm curious, which excursion did you take in the cab? Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video, as always! 😃But did I miss something? I know that I'm a bit tired, but at minute 29 there's a locomotive on its side! 😳Did I miss one of your videos?
@gailyncookMilwRR Thanks! No, you didn't miss a video, I'm still making it. That locomotive is GSMR 711. MrBeast wrecked it in a video of his. Thanks for watching and commenting!
what’s up my friend how are you doing. I hope we can ride the train together one day soon my friend. then u can see me making dreamcatchers its a hobby but its a craft i would love to do it over and over again for a living. Fun Fact about Whittier the community had my great uncle’s body transported from train to Car to be taken to a Cherokee Baptist then be buried at the Yellowhill Veterans Cemetery in Cherokee

During the trip to Dillsboro we explain some interesting things. But, for those who only want to see the return trip with 1702 pulling, it's at 25:30.
