50:22 that black dog wanted to bite my face off the last time I was in Whittier checking out the 711 and 777 when they had been repainted. I've tried to avoid Whittier ever since due to that dog.
I managed to confuse that dog when me and two friends were in Whittier waiting for the Polar run to come in and then leave. I stuck my head and the top half of my body out the right rear window of the car of the friend who drove us up and gave a simple greeting of either hello or hey and that dog looked SO confused for a second with a slight head tilt as if it had never had someone give it a friendly greeting before. It then decided to try and square up with my friends car as we tried to pull away and the friend in the front passenger seat was panicked that we were gonna hit the thing, all the while I’m just in the backseat dying of laughter.
I gotta be honest, the long consists they put behind that little 2-8-0 look ridiculous especially since the locomotive is so small and is clearly unable to pull it unassisted. I wish they would do what tweetsie does and instead of having a long train clearly filled with pretentious rich people, to dedicate just ONE weekend of the year and do something for the railfans
They got to make money to stay in business, having as many passengers as possible gives them the ability to run the steam locomotive. I do wish they would do a railfan weekend a year.
@@railswithethan3715 I know about the S160s in fact 1702 is the only operable example of an S160 in the United States and soon she will be the only operable example in the continental United States with the restoration of Alaska railroad 557 nearing completion
He has the dates he filmed this in a caption before the start of a shot in the video, but to answer your question, he filmed this video on the 16th, the same day he filmed the 1702’s light run from Dillsboro and the same day Steam Z Productions, a mutual friend, and myself also chased the light run then rode the Jackson car on the Tuckaseegee run, as well as filming shots on the 18th.
1702: Dude, are u okay or sumthing?
711: no, Brother. I am not even okay
You can see the aftermath of the Mr. Beast video at 1:30. RIP GSMR 711 & 777.
That bloke waving his hand at 1:01:16 looks familiar. I could tell ye why, but where’s the fun in that?
Those blokes at 1:07:45 look familiar as well.
Why does she needs those Diesels in the back of the train? 1702 use to pull the train backwards in the past before Covid 19.
might need to share a PTC system
No turn around area so there needs to be a dieasil at the back for the horn fra requirements
The two GSMR GP9s #777 and #711 were bought by MrBeast so he could crash them for a youtube video, now both units have been scrapped.
They’re still out in that field. The person who owns that field now has full ownership of both locomotives.
New car Appalachia??? Ex WMSR?? Looks familiar
its ex cvsr
@@jwt6110 You’re correct. It is indeed an ex-Cuyahoga car.
Appalachia Trail to be more specific
It’s a rent a wreck they purchased and rehabbed
She does not have the railroad name on the cab to have the Southern railway freight scheme.
Why is that gp9 setting in the field that great Smokey mountains railroad gp9 with a mr beast livery on it
might be a leftover from mr beast challenge
1702 should be pulling the polar express

Yeah the dog concerned me so I stayed close to my vehicle in case it was a problem.

How many passenger cars are on this train
How many passenger cars does GSMR total. Trains are getting longer and longer each day
Why is it music has to be played so you can hear the engine
I have no clue what you mean, there is no music being played with the engine running, just the sound from the locomotive.
Why are they baby 1702? They own another steam locomotive but the company never rebuit that locomotive 722.
Your a little late to the party. They are rebuilding her now
Is that a classic car your driveing? What make and year?
No it's a 2022 Ford Bronco, they are made to look like the old ones.

The locos an S160 it looks small but it’s stupidly powerful made in the war to move heavy freight in the uk anyway

@@Ian-qs3fz Contiguous is the word whose definition you were thinking of.
i think you underestimate how powerful S160s are. the main reason for those diesels is so the train may run in the opposite direction.
What date was this??
He literally had the date in the title!

Where is the open air passenger car for rail fans to take pictures of the steam locomotive when on the train.
Where are the crossing lights when a railroad and road cross each other.
What about coming out of the tunnel on that line?
