I doubt it but it would be interesting if the DNR would stock Flatheads on Lake Mendota if the channel catfish population drastically goes down in the future. According to the DNR the numbers of channels in Mendota likely to go way down unless there is ideal spawning conditions again and when these older channel cats leave the system.
I haven't fished Tenney the last two years but when I used to fish it I fished off the end with cutbait casting as far as I could then when the weeds got bad I fished with cutbait off the farther boat pier. I usually started fishing after 11 pm.
You gotta fish above the dam for catfish BTW i have thought about releasing catfish into the spillway but didn't want to tick off a bunch of perch fisherman in Monona that I know
I use electrical tape to fasten my bells to my rod. I can get two rods done with one bell then. I have three bags of bells in a box I just need to order some alligator clips and I could make fifty of them some day
Heck yea that's how it's done! Awesome fishing trip!!🎣🎣🎣🎣🔥💯
Wow nice fishing at Mendota
I am wisconsin native. Try lake marion in Mazomanie

Also, what's the best area on Lake mendota for catching my first catfish. I have tried tenney lock and dam multible times but no luck.
Tenney is overfished. Governor Nelson, 113 bridge, and most spots on the north side are better.

How long of a leader do you use?
9 to 18 inches. I prefer 1 ft.
