    It cost $40 to make a nasty wet swamp cooler and $1,499.00 for a Zero Breeze that's made in China and drains water. This is a fair price for a US made product, backed by a company that you can actually call and talk to people.
    This is what American entrepreneurship looks like and I am all about supporting it. Mine comes in this week.

    Excellent, informative, & right to the point. I was wondering about the manufacturing process & the guts of this product, the CEO answered all my questions & showed me everything I was wondering about in terms of the parts & manufacturing process.
    I was also wondering about the current draw on each setting which you answered in someone else's question.

    I did not buy this item to cool any areas or rooms, but for when I lose power during spring/summer storms in N Texas. I turned off my home AC, and just ran it blowing on me sitting in my chair as if I lost power. And I have to say it is perfect for this purpose. I just want it to cool me, and I see having it as a plus in the Texas heat for the next time the power here goes out (It goes out every Spring/Summer and every winter), but this retiree will be comfy when it does. And I have 3 of there ice packs and bags of ice in the deep freezer so I'm ready. I am loving your product, thank you...P.S., you will always have those that will negatively comment on the price, or it uses too much ice, etc. It's what we as Americans do, 1st Amendment and all that. Just keep improving your product and you'll always have me as a customer...

      As long as your portable power station can provide the needed amperage, it can absolutely power the IcyBreeze. It will pull 2.3A on high.
      To charge the battery, you disconnect it from the IcyBreeze then connect it to the charging station. You can continue to run the IcyBreeze while the battery charges if you have one of the power supplies as well.

    Love the concept. However, as I consider it to cool my VW bus in the south, I don't see a seal or latch that would keep the unit closed and leak-free in a (slow) moving vehicle. Solutions, IcyBreeze team?✌

    • @icybreezecooling9720
      @icybreezecooling9720  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The IcyBreeze does not have a complete seal on the lid. We need to draw air into the unit before we can blow it back out, and the unsealed area is the air intake. If you are using it in a moving vehicle, we would recommend keeping the water level to the minimum to avoid any sloshing out.

    • @icybreezecooling9720
      @icybreezecooling9720  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The IcyBreeze is not designed to work with dry ice. Dry ice can freeze the water solid, which will cause damage to the pump. Mixing dry ice and water and causes the hose to blow out carbon dioxide, which is not good to breathe in.
      Our batteries are 12v to be compatible with cars, side by sides, boats, planes, etc. Using a higher voltage battery on a 12v system will cause damage.

    I wish you put expanding foam in the lid. I understand the price points you have to hit, but you really should not cut costs on insulation. I was in a remote area (Chaco canyon, nm) where my wife is an archeological researcher, but I had to make the 1 1/2 hour trip every day to keep my dog safe in our car. I get it. My lifetime cooler and my arctic cooler are built for days long ice retention. But even when not running the system, the 4 7Lb bags would not make it to the next morning when I needed them. You say texas hot, but 84-90° weather should not melt all my ice in a day.
    Fortunately, I'm smart enough to mod the lid. I filled it with polycell foam, and it really upped my melt time. I modded the battery holder to accept 18-20v (read: normal dewalt batterie)as well as able to run on the 12v car voltage. I even rigged up the remote feature. I plan on upgrading the pump motor as well.
    My man, you have an awesome product, but you withheld all of the awesome. I think you would sell more if you just ran standard shit, AND if you included premium features like TRUE insulation. I would have bought your shit for $500 if you provided all the functionality.
    Just know your product is being bought base-price and money is being spent elsewhere to hack it better.
    A voltage regulator, some spray foam, even a more silent fan, these are things people like me visit university of youtube to make a sub-par product awesome.
    Reach for awesome, bruh. Fuck shark tank. Fuck hanging your hat on making the most money. Provide quality, brother. People appreciate that the most.
    Listen. I build CNC machines (mills, router tables, plasma.) I build 3d printers, fdm AND resin. FOR FUN. I can replicate just about anything I want, if I want. Blow molds, vacuum forming? It's all in my garage.
    Provide quality and don't hold back. We're in the age of end user microprocessor control with arduino and raspberry pi.
    Provide all the bells and whistles, and you'll have my pocketbook.
    Withhold for profit? Other companies get my cash. Plain and simple.
    Do better, Mr. entrepreuer, with a more premium product and less bullshit, and you will reap the benefits.
    At least from people like me.
    And now, I come to the realization that, perhaps, I'm not your target consumer, but that's okay too. Maybe you could offer a cheaper, development model/kit/platform much like IRobot did a few years ago with the roomba. Just a bare bones chassis. No control board, nothing. Just the heat sink and the vacuum formed container and maybe the circulation tubes. No pump, no fan, no microcontroller. Sell it as the "Hacker Platform" for around $150. You'd definitely make some serious dough from all the nerds like me!
    Anyhow. You have a solid product, seriously. Maybe look into your business model. I'll definitely be buying your frozen blocks with fins; they just make sense at $15 a pop.

      @icybreezecooling9720  ปีที่แล้ว

      It varies depending on the quality of your ice. 3 bags of ice will last 2, 3, or 4 hours.
      Block ice can last longer since it's bigger blocks of ice and they melt slower.
      We have IcyBlocks that help with ice life. You can put up to 3 IcyBlocks in the unit at one time and even put in 1/4 cup of salt in the IcyBlock container.

    I want to use it in my truck bed with a cap on it for sleeping while camping. I have AC so the battery is not my concern... however I am wondering if filled to the brim with 30lbs of ice how long will it blow cold air for on high in a small area as I stated? I know there is no hard answer with so many variables. Just don't want it blowing warm air after 5 hours ya know.

    • @icybreezecooling9720
      @icybreezecooling9720  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The outside temps and the type of ice used play the biggest roles in how long your ice will last. Ice only melts at the surface area so larger pieces of ice will take longer to melt, meaning longer run times for the AC. You can make large blocks of ice with plastic containers, use freezer packs, or if block ice is available in your area that is another great option.
      The IcyBreeze works by moving the heat from the air into the water in the coil, then returning the water to get cooled off by the ice. The hotter the air is outside, the more energy will be expended from the ice causing melt.
      As a baseline, you can expect 2-3 hours worth of AC with 30 pounds of ice in the heat of the day. Using block ice or freezer packs will extend that, as will running at night with the lower temperatures.

      @@A.Hippie_named-Sammy We have a lifetime warranty on the IcyBreeze so you'll be waiting a while for it to expire! But to answer your question, the lower lid uses air insulation. So another different battery station that I need to pay attention to . What would be neat is if you gave the option of the customer to choose the type of battery that they want like let's say I have riobi products get me a cooler with a ryobi battery connection , or any common place power tool battery Milwaukee, makita , Dewalt, ego, . If you wouldn't advertise their batteries you would just say it is compatible with such batteries. At $300 Some people might want to sacrifice a fit in finish for a home made option.

All those answers can make a huge difference. What I can say is that using 30 pounds of bagged ice will last approximately 2-3 hours on a hot summer day. But note, you do not want to save the ice.. you want to convert it to cool air. So the well insulation only helps if you bring the cooler to a camp sight and turn it on 6 hours later.

      No ice. No cool air.

    • @quantumfrenzy74
      @quantumfrenzy74 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but the lid has ZERO insulation foam. Yetis seal and necessarily have a complete foam envelope. This product requires air flow to operate. However, they should never have skimped on the lid insulation. There is no complete foam insulation envelope, regardless of needed airflow.
      Yetis seal and keep a contiguous insulation envelope to maintain the greatest insulation possible; they work quite miraculously in this capacity and will keep ice and foodstuffs unmelted for DAYS.
      The Icy-breeze necessarily pulls warm air across the cooling fins in the lid to cool the air and thus requires ventilation and an imperfect seal. This is all sound science. However, where the Icybreeze fails is in the incomplete insulation of the lid. The argument could be made that because it is already uncooled air being drawn beneath the lid, it requires no insulation. This logic is flawed, because the entire insulating envelope is compromised by not insulating the lid to the same standard as the cooler's walls. Any ice stored while the unit is not in operation, will logically melt at a higher rate than if the lid were properly insulated.
      Manufacturer: remedy this situation. Fill the sub-lid with the same polycell foam you filled the body. And then, fill the cover of the lid as well. Blockage dams (to keep insulation out of moving parts) are not engineering intensive. MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT. It's a few bucks more, maybe $2 per unit, but the profit could be $10-$20 more. Unless, wait. Unless you already do that to the platinum model.
      Anybody here bought the platinum and not the v2? Check the lid insulation. I wanna know where the bullshit is stored in this unit.
      Bro: we get it. Custom this, custom that. Custom design it ONE time, manufacture it a million times. It's not custom any more. I pay for fusion360 too. Replication of a one-off design is not custom. Custom is when something is made up on the spot. Anybody in the trades will tell you every goddamn thing built is custom, unless it's prefab. You are prefabbing. Nothing is custom. Nothing is a one-off.
      Insulate your lids. Make a better product. Don't artificially create "tiers" because you held back to make more money! I respect the concept of your product, and I thoroughly appreciate the simplicity of your design. You don't use peltier junctions, you don't depend on liquid to gas state change of a material conducive to latent heating or cooling of environments. You rely on frozen water and thermal deficit. You do not depend on pressure changes or existing state changes of matter. You rely mostly upon long politicked temperature instability
      How long will you persevere until your grasp on reality is tainted with the wonder of intelligences and the safety of your realm's survivors

      Okay,here’s my opinion on the Icybreeze Platinum with an upgraded 10ah battery! First of all with 20lbs of ice,it will last you just a few days, I would say max 2 days and not like 7 days like they claimed when not using the fan. When you use the fan it will make the ice melts within hours. I called the company and ask for a return because I was not happy with it and accepted a 25% restocking fee. Talked to Derek,one of the directors and he said unfortunately I couldn’t return it because it was purchased more than 30 days ago. I paid almost $450 for this unit and heard good things about their customer support. Unfortunately this is not a product I would recommend unless you want to constantly fill up ice. I only used the fan once to blow cold air on my road trip. For 2 weeks I kept filling up ice to keep my food at temperature. Not happy with this.

    EVAPORATOR NOT CONDENSER !!!!!!!

    • @lukem7464
      @lukem7464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not a traditional refrigerant cycle. There is not an evaporator, more like a chilled water coil. By condenser, he means it is condensing moisture out of the air....? I wouldnt call it a condenser either as it adds confusion.
      All that said, the owner has very little understanding of psychrometrics. While this will not have an immediate humidity injection to the space, it will definitely add humidity as the air is exposed to the condensate water.

    • @carlorocky
      @carlorocky ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lukem7464. Remember the first rule of thermodynamics: heat travels to cold. It’s definitely acting as an evaporator by absorbing both latent and sensible heat. No matter what type of AC system, the principle is the same. Latent heat = humidity and is the first heat to be removed, followed by sensible heat which is temperature that can be measured (with a thermometer). Moisture, also known as humidity, also known to as latent heat can only be subtracted by a component that functions as an evaporator. In this case a heat exchanger. Why do you make statements with a question mark at the end of the statement? Not only is it grammatically incorrect, but it also makes one sound unsure about what they are saying.

    • @lukem7464
      @lukem7464 ปีที่แล้ว

It’s disgusting when people like you give advice about something you know nothing about. Another non sequitur statement. It’s obvious from your initial comment that you can’t even write properly. You use phrases like: “traditional refrigerant cycle.” What is a “traditional refrigerant cycle?” You say there is “no evaporator” LOL! Then you go on to explain that moisture is being condensed out of the air. Can you explain how that happens? Even if you tried, you would be describing an evaporator. Making an incorrect statement and then ending that statement with four periods and a question mark is never appropriate. It makes you sound less than intelligent about the subject matter you are so pathetically trying to discuss and it speaks volumes to your inability to comprehend and convey information using the English language. What a shame, it’s probably the only language you speak, or at least try to.

    Most of the weight comes from the ice and water, an empty cooler is light unless it was made of stainless steal.
    This design is still drawing air across the ice water so: does wet cold air shed more water when compared to wet HOT air?
    This video still do tell me WHERE is the air inlet !!
