    Sorry to be critical, but ... I've done these 'jump on and ride it for 5 minute' reviews too. I rode mine 260 miles around Wiltshire last week and my 64yr old frame didn't notice any vibration. Had mine 2 years now and delighted with it. 65mpg on that ride, it's a Swiss Army knife that can tour, blast and corner superbly. Massive service intervals, lovely engine noise and all the bells and whistles you need.
    It's only weakness I think is its high C of G, so better for 6 foot plus riders.

    It's my favorite Multistrada of the current lineup. As impressive as the V4S is, I can't seem to bond with it. I sold mine and bought this V2S. its a proper Ducati twin. The Goldilocks of Multis.

      Ah im the opposite, id have the V4s all day long over this, but each to their own, that's the Beauty of it. Glad you're enjoying your V2S though. Ride safe.

    8000 miles on my V2s still to experience those vibrations through the seat?????
    Done 400 mile days and would happily go further

      Maybe yours is properly bedded in and this demo was still under the break in service.
      I noticed a difference in the bike and engine on my KTM 1290 GT after it’s first service.
      So maybe it will settle down afterwards, all I know is that I definitely felt the vibes, also in the desert X I tested as well. 🤷🏻‍♂️😁

    Hi Matt thanks for the review, nice machine for sure. It would be good to also cover off :- High speed, wind protection, cruising ability etc. Handling and braking, low speed maneuverability, what’s under the seat? Storage etc. food for thought 👍

      Thanks les. I’ll make sure to add these to my points on future bikes.

    Looking at getting the 950s as my first sports tourer.
    Not wanting to finance, have a budget of 11k.
    Was a toss up between the 950s or 900 Tiger GT PRO.

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not tested the triumph line up yet but i will soon hopefully. The V2 is quite vibey for me when getting spirited in the back roads, something to consider. Test rides are always the way forward, never buy blind 🤙

    • @Inked_CR
      @Inked_CR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DSR1YT Thanks for the reply. I went on a ride on the 900 GT PRO, I just didn't like the bike. Multi 950s was nice, but 11k, plus 1200 insurance was expensive, not to mention servicing cost.
      Viewing and hopefully buying a 2021 900XR TE with every option fitted, 6k miles for 8.4k, 2 year warranty, and 2 years breakdown. For me, as a new rider, it'll make sense with this for the first 12 months. My mt07 was alright, but paying 5.5k for a bog standard bike wasn't enjoyable for me.
      Oh, and £700 insurance.
      Ride safe, and thanks for the quick reply.

      @Inked_CR sounds like a sensible upgrade with the XR. Insurance is a joke full stop 🤣🤣.
      Take it easy out there. 🤙

    Two things are stopping me to get it
    1.maintence costs / mechanic experience
    2.The multimedia stuff mobile connection etc are few or nothing compared to others

    Great bike. Drive one last year.... Vibration through the seat put me off, are they going to fix this...

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope so. They have this engine in so many of their bikes that they all suffer with the vibration issue. Definitely something to fix for future models.

    • @IanTed
      @IanTed ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a V2 and you’re obviously used to a boring in-line four, it’s very smooth for a V2, had no issues at all.

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ve had big bang engines, KTM 690 SMC single cylinder lump, v4 Tuono, V2 KTM GT, HD, BMW GSA with its flat head boxer engine. That’s just in the last two years.
      Think I’m qualified to talk about the vibrations as im clearly not an inline four kind of guy.
      There are vibrations from this engine across all of the models it sits in. Whether you can accept that or not is up to you.
      Everyone is allowed to voice their opinion, shame there’s people out there who like to tell others their wrong. Ride safe.

    Is there any place to store phone, vehicle license etc.

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on the V2 unfortunately. The V4s has a phone compartment just under the fuel cap area.
      Not sure about under the seat though. Sorry.

    With these (excellent) on/off-tarmac bikes, isn’t saying “off road” a tad of a misnomer?

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the UK when I say 'off-road' I still mean green lanes/byways. The most we can do with out bikes sadly.

      they really should call them off pavement. Off road is more your 3-400 cc dual sports.

    I rode one. My take, is that anything short of an aggressive throttle, the bike is a bag of dicks. I bought a V Strom 1050 XT instead - better at lower RPM, and Suzuki can teach Ducati how to build a better gearbox…

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’ve done something right in the bigger multi v4s. That gearbox is super smoother and smooth throttle response as well. Maybe one year they will move their experience down to the v2 😁
