- Dave Kindigs Twelveair Custom 1953 Corvette displayed at Sema Show 2024
2024 Detroit Autorama Ridler Award Winner
What started out as a 1953 Corvette, yet no original parts from that car were used, Kindig’s team built every inch of this vehicle by hand or fabricated it specifically for this project.
Under the hood lies a custom-built, naturally aspirated 9.2-liter LS V-12 engine crafted by Race Cast Engineering. Paired with a rear-mounted transaxle, this powerhouse spins GM 8L90E eight-speed overdrive automatic transmission. Hand-built stainless-steel headers lead to a custom 4-inch exhaust, exiting from the center of the car.
The Indy-car-inspired suspension features a single lateral coilover cantilever pushrod design. Wilwood Aero6 R front brakes and Aero4 rears, coupled with custom hats, ensure precise stopping power. The one-off EVOD custom wheels (20×8 front, 21×12 rear) wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4s rubber.

Our plesure
@bacop001 I'll have to have a look . It looks amazing on the stands and I bet it looks even better sat on the ground .
Absolutely outstanding! It would look great in any colour.
The color was perfect for this build
Crazy car, thanks Howard for a detailed video on it. Stunning automotive art. It was written on the board stainless steel brake rotors, I’ve never heard someone doing that on any car. It’s on its own level in extreme.
Neither have I, interested to find out more about that
Dave and his crew are certainly at the top of the tree right now in building these special cars
Yes they have a good crew
That is totally outrageous !!
Sure was
Some lines and the colour remind me of TVR speed 12. Awesome creation.
It sure is
Kindig makes some amazing rides. My dream is to win enough in Powerball to give him an Aussie project to take on. Imagine an old one off Monaro like this.
Keep buying them tickets!!
Just when you wonder how far can car go something like this comes around and sets the bar soooo much higher
It would definitely be in the seven digits 💰
without doubt
It’s too good, I wouldn’t be game to drive it. It’s almost like a piece of jewellery. Keep doing what you’re doing Howard you would go mad or broke trying to get to that level.
My last 10 builds have been customer cars, so no cost to me. I’ve been building what my customers want
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you so much!
Howard and crew thanks for all your efforts filming at cema.Been there before and are back there next year. You have done a very balanced coverage of the show. Greatly appreciated be interesting to know what equipment you used for the filming. Thanks Kym.
It’s a Sony ZV-E10 mirrorless camera on a gimble.
Greatest build of all time
Not sure about that, but the best I have seen in person
Great footage
Thank you kindly
The Americans love our Automotive products, it's a pity we don't build cars anymore.
not new one at least the modified industry is alive and well
@AstillDesign True
Goodness me....incredible really.
Sure is.
BEAUTIFUL Car, Color, Style & Detailing.
I know my hearing is probably failing, but around 00:44, did he say "...nothing stands out, nothing grabs your eye..."?
Yes I did, nothing bad. No little imperfections, no blemishes, nothing out of place.
Those wheels just pop
Everything did
Kev dog there making sure everything is perfect
Doing his thing
Volvo like top done perfect 54 like 57 Vette...great blend.
I'd take this over a Ferrari
something special thats for sure
Imagine the chrome disc would look bad after a small drive
I believe there stainless, I also believe it was driven out of the hall.
Woooooooooooow !!!!!!
Yes sir
It reminds me of an early Volvo
Yeah I can see that
Nice😊
very nice
Looks a bit like the p1800 produced by Jenson for volvo in the 60/70?'s
so true
Wow
for sure
The car has no wipers or rear storage or access. Might as well be a very detailed mock up.
That's why it's considered a show car.
There's a guy here locally won the riddler twice and he didn't get the recondition kindig is I'm for the small guy
