Lord know when I started out with sponges, especially when I was in a rush that would happen to me until I realized that thing had way too much water in it still. This is very helpful for a beginner or someone just starting out using sponges.

Gurl!!!!! LMAO 🤣 I have to admit that has happened to me. 😂. I was a hot mess. I was saying this concealer is garbage it is picking up my makeup. Little did I know it was because my sponge was to wet. I was watching someone on Utube and she was using a wet sponge. But she never said to make sure you squeeze all the water out. But babe when you know better you do better. Lol. Loved this tutorial …. You just saved somebody’s face. Lol

I do like a damp sponge but I found that I love to use a brush or a dry sponge to blend my concealer. More coverage for my dark under-eye circles.

Hey Mena - THANK YOU for this video. I am from the era of using brushes for all makeup application (the theory that MAC pushed years ago when they were the frontrunner of makeup).. When I tried to move to the sponge for blending, I experienced what you shared in the video 😩😩😩. For this reason, I have stayed away from using sponges. There are many videos on TH-cam that speak about make-up sponges and the blending benefits , but from my experience, how to properly prep and use the sponge is not clear. I specifically searched for a tutorial on this topic by YOU because I LOVE your tutorials on make-up, and was glad that you had one.. Now that I know what I did wrong (not fully squeezing the sponge out) I am good to go now!

Yes boo.. when I first started doing my make up I did that with the sponge , and I didn’t know if I just squeezed the sponge out I could fix it, so I put foundation powder over it! IT LOOKED TERRIBLE!😂😂 I was self conscious all day.. thank Goodness I’ve gotten a lot better since then.. thanks for the tips babe..😘😘

ok, yes! the sponge won’t be thoroughly damp tho. just on the surface. I don’t believe it will blend well, BUT, If you like the result, stick with it!

I promise that has been the most recent issue...Thought that it was the wrong concealer...switched concealers and it would look like a patch of concealer was missing and I would just keep adding more so I will be using this technique to see if that was the problem when using a sponge

I bought the makeup sponge because saw all the beauty influencers had them and used them, I used it once dry because until this video no one said to wet them and wring it out. Let me tell you, dry hurts!!!
