This site was planned to be the terminus of the abandoned Roselle Metro . Also, the concept of demolishing clubs of this vintage and replacing them with a new club with apartments has already been implemented with the Harbord Diggers Club and similarly at Ettalong , as examples of what could happen here.
used to be a good place to eat . with there idea of building multi storey the club didnt think about the area and how much they hate any think units. Balmain is a god awful place to live. from no parking to the tightest streets ever .
It's sad but finally it's about time something was done to this place cos sadly it has become a dreadful ugly eyesore to the Rozelle area cos of complete vandalism by idiot graffiti artists then badly damaged by fire! 🔥, the whole place is absolutely ruined!!, I only visited the club once back in the 80's with my late Dad & it was a great thriving & entertaining club!, now just becoming a memory!!, sad to see it go but it's for the best!, hopefully a bigger & better club will dominate the site & bring the Rozelle area back to the glory days with new club entertainment & amenities.
I remember going there with family for a nice lunch or dinner when I was very young. The Balmain Tigers were never the same after they merged with Wests in Ashfield. I hope you are correct about the Tiger's returning to this location, it might reignite the fire 🔥 into this once mighty team.
Wow, I remember this place in all its glory back in 90's. Thanks for documenting. I'm really enjoying seeing places from my own childhood. 👍

The old gym was $2 bucks a go, down in the basement, I remember some of the Tiger team players working out together sometimes, they were nuts.
I’m kinda sad too. I really wanted to explore this but wasn’t able to when I went there. Thanks for your vids keep them coming :)
I remember Sunday nights there in the late 80’s
That yellow place used to be a motorcycle shop back in the '90s.
Don't count on it.dammed apartment s will go up on the site just like everywhere else in Sydney.damm.
My grandmother worked there for 20 odd years
I did the Rozelle markets for years sad to see it go.
I went there as a young kid for Christmas parties.
