Anyone else going over old top gear and grand tour episodes after watching final episode of them or is it just me? Ive seen most of the clips dozen of times but watch them again and puts a smile on my face.
Yep check iPlayer, they're all on there. Please never remove them BBC, you surely don't realisd how brilliant they are. The single reason I use iPlayer personally
@@djb-n9l apart from the first seasons which were more actual car review, it was always obviously scripted. I think anyone with above a room temp IQ knew it was scripted, like all TV.
If only I could be so blessed to have my life inconvenienced by the Top Gear crew. Traffic jams, destruction of property, personal injury, if I could be the victim of any of it. Blessed.
The BBC would probably temporarily rent out those areas during filming to not bother actual people. So I would expect those to people to be actors, especially the ones on the kayaks. Can't say the same about the boat they crashed into though.
I am so glad that someone talked the producers out of trying to take this across the channel (and when I say someone, I know who it was as I read the email when it was sent asking for advice and passed it on them)
Duh. One of the papers had A Big Exclusive Reveal about how most of this segment was staged - to which Clarkson replied in his column that they should take a look inside Doctor Who's police box because it's probably not as big in there as the BBC says.
Me thought back then, why not they just buy Reliant Robin and use 2 Honda engines that give total 400hp for the lift and thrust. That would be ideal size as car-hovercraft tbh
as @YISTECH says, both. The soaking / knocking over of people and blowing over the outdoor restaurant chair and tables would have been entirely planned, as would Jeremy getting out of the van in the lock. As ever, the funnier moments often end up being those which weren't planned, such as Jeremy standing on the side and it lifting up and soaking Hammond 😄
2:35 Careful, careful, there's a (stunt)man in a boat. Don't forget to cut away just before he tips the boat over by himself to make it look real and not faked in any way. .......Well done.
BBC still milking these trio… have some decency and just kill the new top gear or at the very least rename it…what you have now is not top gear and it will never be top gear without these three
Which Top Gear Classic moment would you like to see next?
TOBOATA!!!

"Why's your's so small?"
"One more hit and it'll be out" 😂😂😂
It has a double meaning... Either his canister runs out because its so small, or that one more push, and he is out... (literally, knocked out...)
Phrasing!
@@ROBLOXGamingDavid I thought he was joking about being pregnant, "one more push and it'll be out" (i.e. a baby)

yup. precisely why i'm here
me too!
2:31 “NO, JAMES THERE’S A MAN IN A BOAT!” *Indistinct Shouting & Panic* - Hammond: “That’s the RSC!” 😂
whats the RSC?
Royal (Something) Club, I guess?
Royal Shakespeare Company, which is why Stratford-upon-Avon is famous as Shakespeare came from there
awaiting full-length uploads of the specials:
- (Bronze) Vietnam
- (Silver) Alabama
- (Gold) Botswana
never going to happen lol
Vietnam is definitely gold, my friend. Polar Special is silver, and Botswana is Bronze. The runner ups are Uganda and Romania, respectively.
They’re all on iPlayer…

Burma special.
this was the funniest episode ever. Hammond crawling on the ladder getting drenched just quietly saying “oh no” is so fucking hilarious
When this first came out I remember dying laughing and my mom was like what is wrong with these 3????
It’s just as funny in 2024. Richard on the ladder in the lock 😂🤣💀
Nah, it was past its best by then. It became obvious it was all scripted(I knew it was scripted, but this was obvious).
@@djb-n9l Did you give yourself a pat on the back for discovering this secret after seeing writers in the credits?
@pooki-dooki I knew it was scripted. But by this time any tom dick Harry could tell.
@@djb-n9l apart from the first seasons which were more actual car review, it was always obviously scripted. I think anyone with above a room temp IQ knew it was scripted, like all TV.
The amount of apologizing and compensation the BBC had to do on behalf of these 3 must have been immense.
yeah
Better use of licence payer fees that DEI IMO
If only I could be so blessed to have my life inconvenienced by the Top Gear crew.
Traffic jams, destruction of property, personal injury, if I could be the victim of any of it. Blessed.
13:24 you can see Jeremy rocking back and forth like a kid 😂😂😂 Never change, Jeremy, never change
the man in a suit rowing a boat was the most obvious actor plant in top gear history
nothing was staged on Top Gear
Plenty was. They've even talked bout it. Like with the Robin Reliant.
@@keirgomcginlay2044he was being sarcastic mate
That was my dad, wasn’t an actor at all same as those people eating in the restaurant that got sprayed 👍
@@andrewbrown5300 why was your dad rowing a boat in a suit by himself, makes no sense.
13:26 Ladies and gents, one of the great one-liners to have graced our television screens
I laugh my ass off everytime I see that xD
“The thing with hovercrafting is it’s brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, disaster”
Loved Hammond’s reaction when hearing Clarkson's trying to go back up the weir
“We’re scraping give it the beans give it the beans.” I love hearing James May saying that phrase every time.
13:28 YOU PILLOCK!!! 😂😂😂
and with that, back to the studio
Those people better be paid actors lol
If you don't know... look up what Top Gear is.
They are
The BBC would probably temporarily rent out those areas during filming to not bother actual people. So I would expect those to people to be actors, especially the ones on the kayaks. Can't say the same about the boat they crashed into though.
Top Gear likes to piss people off, never mind all this paid actors bullshit
If it were anything but a british show I’d say there was a chance they were real, but the bbc is probably way too considerate
Hammond: “that’s the best thing I’ve ever survived” 😬

And I love it 😂
Definition of "Brilliant brilliant brilliant disaster "
12:26 Since the CC never included that line, Hammond says "I CAN JUST FEEL IT FROM HERE!!!"
"you´re gonna miss it!"
so James gave into the voices and was going after the guy in the boat?
"Why don't we just make a sign that says 'Sorry'?"
Maybe ad a bit more context to them, i.e. the relevant conversations before it.
0:28 who else was ecpecting hammonds laugh of james driving through some bins
yes, i love watching 3 dudes in a van turned hover craft struggling to manage the controls.
The only way they could have made that better is to paint the van like the A-Team van.😂
We did a thing, We did a thing.
Watch "Cruising the cut" and then watch this. LOL.
such a great challange
Hovervan amok in a lock. Good heavens, what a crock! Of the situation, take stock.
