hahahahahaha do what you want I seriously don't care, I don't like wasting time arguing with people that don't know shit on what they're talking about.
Zach Myers Oh yeah, I forgot the combine had two skis and one tiny treaded track. No, wait it doesn't. It's incredibly obvious to everyone else that in that shot of the video, they drove the combine over it, then drove a snowmobile over it a bunch of times, since a combine definitely wouldn't be able to make a working runway with its large deep tire tracks.
+Zach Myers lol clearly you don't. Judging by the width of the tracks, i'm gonna guess they were made by a polaris widetrack, or something similar. And they were clearly pulling a sled as well
Just realised how well designed the combine harvester is when you modify it in the advent of a zombie apocalypse. Great visibility from the drivers seat and high vantage point in the back. the thick walls is also perfects for mounting heavy weapons.
they did it on a lake of ice with 0 plowing experiance and a combine harveseter that is not made to run on ice. the rear wheels did not have any grip for steering
Borislav Paraskov it depends if they are using metric tonnes 1000kg/ 2200 pounds, long tons which is slightly more, or short tons which is 2000 pounds. Since they use both imperial and metric units and I believe long tons is British, I have no clue in this particular case. I would assume the Norwegian chart is references 1000kg
JC: "50 centimeters of ice, 12 tons. Combine's more than that." RH: "So we can't do it?" JC: "Well, it is only a ton over." Richard Hammond: _[shook again]_
This has to be one of the funniest episodes ever when they shot out the windows I laughed my head off. And Jeremy testing the depth of the snow hilarious.
I love that these guys are just grown kids x) What do you do if your vehicle almost falls through the ice and you manage to back it out? Crawl over to the hole and look into it. Why? Because it's cool... duh.
I love the free for all challenges and all, but when they work together on something you really feel how genuinely excited they get. This and the bridge over the river Cock are my favorites for that reason.
Are they INSANE? I'm Norwegian, and someone I know almost died this way a couple of years ago, by driving his tractor on the ice (which should have been really thick) and falling through in seconds. Luckily he managed not to panic completely and swim to the surface in the cold water. It doesn't get colder. But he's super strong and used to working outside all day. He's still having nightmares. And my father knew someone else who died this way. These three had people around them, probably Norwegians ready in wetsuits with ropes and everything. Maybe they weren't as far out on the ice as it seems like either, but still. It's hard to react quickly when several tons falls through the ice. I love them though! :D
4:52 Haha yeah, having come from South Dakota to live in England, and laughing at the unbridled mayhem a mere inch or two of snow can cause in the UK, I would definitely believe that.
Actually, combines are very good plowing machines once converted. There's a company here that turns trucks into plowers, they also make "snowbines" (except they're better thant this :p) and those are actually sold to airports in countries like canada and ski stations.
"If the snow wouldn't come to the Dominator, we would take the Dominator to the snow................Here in Norway..."LMAO sounds like a line from Posh Nosh : )
