I had the perfect top 10 and you somehow ruin it Zeddy!
Just kidding, however you made one GIANT mistake, which is putting Soggoth on this list. This card legitimately saw play in Control Warrior and even hit #1 back in the day. There is no way it should be close to being on this list, even though it would be terrible right now.
But outside of that pretty good list overall, definitely some terrible cards that I could have put in my top 10 on a different day.
The fact that he put it after boogeymonster if baffling, just compare the two! C'mon guys i i thought youtubers were supposed tonbe good at making top 10 videos.
Zeddy, we all know that the true definitive WORST legendary in the game is Duskfallen Aviana, since no matter if you play her, or summon her, or evolve into her. If you HAVE HER ON BOARD there is a 99% chance that you already lost the game.
She is the ONLY legendary that actually loses you the game everytime.
Think of it this way. It's a dirty rat counter.
@@hujm9617 No, it's a "Play Dirty Rat last 5head" counter. Because you can still kill it after you dirt rat'ed it, unless you are stupid and is playing Dirty Rat last leaving no mana to deal with whatever your rat pulled.
Majordomo could give it a run for it's money. Same with temporus
@@Thelius42 Temporus you could argue is as bad, but his effect happens no matter what, if your opponent kills Aviana it's useless.
And Majordomo was a win con where you would give your opponent him then kill it. It was a viable deck also.
Still think Aviana is the worst.
The only way to not immediately lose the game is to immediately cube it, or maiev.
Soggoth was extremely marginally played 9 years ago, making it a billion times better than Boogeymonster

At this point, I just refuse to dust my Duskfallen. I waited years for it to become broken somehow, and I am still not giving up.
It's not gonna be broken unless they buff it, which i doubt they will. And even then, it would only be worth it if they made her op and then nerfed for full dust refund.
But i appreciate your perserverance
If they ever make a card that makes a minion go Dormant for 1 turn she could be playable, the closest we have is Maiev that makes her go Dormant for 2 turns.
@@locogato3488 Demon Hunter received the card that makes a minion dormant for 2 or 3 turns i can't remember.
But good luck getting that combo.
But even then, you have to play Aviana and Dormant her IN THE SAME TURN and then WAIT to use her in a combo that won't even be that good.
She isn't playable at all lol
If they made a card that dealt damage to opponents based on mana they cheat, Duskfallen Aviana could work. Probably not great as the opponent could play a cheap card to take less damage... But then it's kind of a Counterspell/Objection! that if they don't remove will let YOU cheat stuff.
Alternatively, something like Skull of the Man'ari in Druid that pulls it from hand could let you get it into play without playing a card and thus let you use its effect allowing you to wombo combo.
I doubt it'd be meta, but it could potentially work in the future.
If druid gets like a 3 mana card that summon a 5 or less cost minion from your hand and goes dormant for 1 turn maybe
Commander Ulthok is not that bad to be on the list, you can to play it when your opponent has low Health as a disruption. And it combos well with Elite Tauren Champion, you force your opponent to explode the Molten Pick because they can't spend Mana.
Yeah, Ulthok can work in a janky Curselock deck. Make the opponent spend more precious health to get rid of their curses and also whittle them down so you can burst them (Even more so if they dump their hand so they have plenty of room for you to spam curses)
It's not a meta card, but it's playable in less optimized decks.
Curse of flesh is a much better card

I opened moorabi in a pack thinking it would be fun to try an off meta deck. Nope like 2-3 games in and I was done. Old freeze shaman was so horrendously bad. I honestly have no idea what they were even trying to do with that archtype.
Well now Ice to Meet You, Cold Storage (LOL yeah freeze Moorabi to create another kek... or anyone else and get TWO of them because it's a ONE MANA CARD)
Snowfall Guardian (old or new but preferably old...) that new battlecry that gives you two temporary frost spells...
the skeleton knight was unironically the win condition vs control Warrior when discovered by museum curator as a priest, it was a recursive threat(more or less) vs limited removal and it was 7 dmg a turn
Strongly disagree with the Soggoth inclusion on this list. This card was quite a metaplayer in Control-C'Thun Warrior during the Old Gods meta. At that time his effect was unique (if not mistaken Soggoth was the first card with such effect) and back then there were no such total overflow of removal cards as it is right now, so in most cases Soggoth successfully drained some kind of valuable removal resource from your opponent
Faerie Dragon was the first card with the effect, what with being in the original release of the game.
Soggoth however, was a roadblock. Taunt so it stopped trades. Elusive so no spell removal. Less than 7 attack so no BGH. It used to be difficult to remove it back before everyone and their cat had Rush and damage battlecries out the wazoo.
There was a gvg 4 mana 2/5 elusive taunt, but Soggoth is much better
I feel like blizzard makes these pack filler legendaries just to hurt f2p players honestly they are completely pointless
They do. And not just against f2p ,it's just great for their economy overall. Everyone have to open more packs to get what they want and disenchant for a huge disadvantage. It's nothing new, every CCG does the same.
these cards do not only exist in the game by playing them but with random generation as well. some cards are good that they are in the game even if they are not playable and I know this does not comfort f2p players but it is what it is
How is the Boogeymonster ever lower than Soggoth ??
Commander Ulthok isn't that bad in the right situation. I got owned by that card many times when Countess was a thing. It's a lot better than Botface at least.
Yup, he's rly situational but definitely had an effect in games like that. He oddly enough would fit in a deck that likes to push early strong and block opponent from plays ( kinda murloc warlock thingy in my experience 😊 )
I would have Hack the System on my list. A quest that makes no sense on any level. You have to run a bunch of weapons, making your deck worse. You have to swing into whatever your opponent develops to finish the quest, losing health. Then your reward is a hero power that makes vanilla 4/3s, which don't even help you close out the game. And as soon as you run out of weapons you can't get value from the hero power reset anymore.
Yes. It also can't be discovered or randomly generated. There is no point for this card to exist as no one uses it. It should be completely reworked.
Technically, things like Gorehowl, Battlepickaxe and Doctor Krastinov can allow you to get more out of fewer weapons (Or if you want just 1 bad card, Tentacles for Arms can let you have infinite weapon attacks for a single card), not to mention the plethora of Pirates that can give you weapons.
Also, you don't have to hit minions. You can go face. (You also don't technically need weapons if you can get attack from other sources. If you could consistently get Cho'gall's anomaly for heroes having +1 attack on their turn that would easily complete it)
Having a hero power that summons vanilla 4/3's isn't bad. It's like a mini Jaraxxus that didn't kill you. Even more so when it replaces the literal worst hero power in the entire game.
Hack the System is only bad because at the time there wasn't a deck for it (Especially compared to cracked quests like Corrupt the Waters) and now in Wild powercreep is so high that it's worthless.

Props to Zeddy for featuring small channels! I know the struggle for trying to compete with other content creators for content especially with an old game like hearthstone (I also started not so long ago) and it's good to see there is someone like Zeddy giving those channels a push! ❤
Also with Rend, if you had a legendary minion on bird and your opponent didn’t, you would have to destroy your own legendary to play it. It was atrocious
The only thing worse than the legendaries on this list is Zeddy trying to act
Duskfallen Avaiana is so bad, it loses you the game even if it's summoned randomly.

Whenever I got the boogey as a random result for example for a random summon for 8 mana. I alaways did win. It is not that bad.
The Skeleton Knight should have been reworked, it could be fun. Dustfallen Aviana is obviously a terrible card.
For Skeleton Knight, if Blizzard adds a keyword: charge, SK will be a usable card.
Good idea. Although I think it should also be resummon instead of returns to hand. That way you get your 7 dmg in, and if lucky he can survive a couple of board clears and get another go. That would put in in today's power level and still it won't be a very viable card I think.
Griftah is no way #8. Griftah is definitely not worse than Yeti and vanilla stats is at least technically usable
If you're holding a dragon destroy a legendary minion card>>

How can you not put a card such as Nat Pagle on that list?
One of the worst cards, not just Legendaries in the entire game
Nat Pagle used to be good. Like, he got nerfed because literally every deck ran him.
I think there is a small way to somewhat buff a them slightly like SK could resummon itself instead of bouncing back to the hand
I just dusted Captain Greenskin the other day to craft some rares I was missing to finish some quests. He got power crept so hard I forgot he existed in HS.

What about ''The Darkness''? its goes dormant until you get 3 candles out of your deck. Useless
Winged Guardian is worse than Soggoth because Hemet can destroy it

Aviana can actually be used as a bait for Reno. Your opponent will probably drop some big minion and some spell to remove Aviana, next turn you poof. If Aviana stays alive even better.
But that's just a gimmick, no one in their right mind would play her for that one purpose. There should be more bait cards in HS though, adds another dimension to the game.
#4 Rend Blackhand was playable back in the day, the conditions were not great but doable. The game was different.
The newer 3 mana card in it's time is arguably worse than Rend back in his time.
Half the cards on these lists were played in tournament level meta decks at the time in standard.
Soggoth was really played in Control Warrior and was counter to some meta decks back then. It was pretty strong card at that time. Now it looks laughable but it wasn't as bad as you or some people try to make it. Back then removal or silences weren't as prevelant and it was actually very hard to deal with this card as an aggro or midrange deck back then.
I actually had a fair amount of success with Griftah when Rastakhan's came out in Even Handlock.
I knew a guy who opened 3 Duskfallen Aviana's and quit forever
warlock: have mimirons's head + red herring + 4 amalgums die resurect them with n'zoth of the deep, give mimiron power overwhelming twice, go face. mimiron is not bad.
The Theo Zeddy rivalry is the next dredds kolst drama. Business associates go
I miss Majordomo on those lists. It definitely didn't lose you the game on the spot everytime but it lost a lot.
Auctioneer Jaxon should be on this list IMO. A 2 mana 2/3 with a really poor effect - whenever you trade, discover a card from your deck instead.
Though, 2 mana 2/3 is at least on par for stats. Sure, she came in UiS where boards stopped mattering... But it's at least a River Croc in Arena which could often be better than actual bad legendaries.
@@tarille1043 Yeah i guess the statline isnt too terrible. Still a crappy legendary though. Im especially salty as my collection and dust reserves were small at the time and i was annoyed when i got her in a pack lol
Without watching either video, my thoughts on the worst legendaries (In no particular order)
- Icehowl
- Anomalus
- Hir'eek, the Bat
- Temporus
- Deck of Chaos
- Duskfallen Aviana
- Hemet Nesingwary
- Harbinger Celestia
- Nat, the Darkfisher
These are all either actively harmful to you and/or are poor stats and effects. You do not want to play these cards and in most cases you do not want to randomly generate them (Whereas something like Milhouse was awful to play, but great when he popped out of a Piloted Shredder)
I get why all these are bad but is Deck of Chaos that bad? At least it can be useful if you build your deck around it, while the others have no reason to ever be included in any deck.
@@locogato3488 There's very little you can actually do with Deck of Chaos. Like the best you can really do is things like Mosh'ogg Enforcer. The fact that even Mark has barely done anything with it shows its limitations.
It costing 5 mana is the nail in the coffin that seals it as a bad card. It's a significant tempo loss which doesn't help the kind of greedy deck that builds around it. In most cases you're better off just doing a Lor'themar deck instead.
@@tarille1043 I agree it's uses are very limited but at least it has some combo potential, like making a 4 Mana Malygos. It's not great but it's still something.
Kinda unrelated to the video, but they should make a format where people can only use Splendiforous Whizbang, og works too but new one is wackier, a whole format around it would be pretty cool. Hope the idea gets to someone.
I wish someone at blizzard see your lists, and decide to bring back all those legendaries in a future expansion, but in a playable form :)

Majordomo is so bad giving it to opponent may actually be a good strategy to be honest.

griftah isn't that bad, it is still a yeti with upside and most of the cards on this list are in fact worse then yeti.

Avianna was in that wild druid deck. You cheated some mana with twig, played her, then the guy that refilled your mana for 0 and then you went HAM. EDIT: whoops wrong avianna

@11:07 leave it to zeddy to drop the truth. As a priest main, temporus was not only an auto-win against any control deck. But back then you could actually run aggro out of cards in points of the game, and find an opening to play and beat aggressive decks before they reloaded their hand. This card confused players because it required something rarely needed in hearthstone, SKILL. Cant just match the mana numbers with this one.
Along the same lines of Temporus getting ragged on by bad players, was stormwind Quest Priest initially. Playing quest priest right after expansion is still the only homebrew deck of mine to ever reach legend. If I recall, people thought it was bad because the best boardclear ever printed (whirlpool) cost 9 mana or some other nonsense reason... as if Lone Reno now at 9 isnt still powerful haha

Patches is still auto-include in every Wild Pirate deck. A free 1/1 you didn't have to draw that activates pirates synergies is still good even in today's Wild.
