This video just shows how far behind franchise mode is in NHL compared to 2K or even Madden. Would be so much better even if you could import custom draft classes. That being said I like the video, you did the best you could with what you’ve got and it was cool seeing all the old rosters/names.

Suggestion for any other time you may use this roster, you could give all the crappy players on Vegas and Seattle 10 year long 5/10 million dollar deals to make sure they cant sign free agents too!
My best solution is just to do your own expansion draft (following whatever procedure you want) and just phase those two teams into the league. Imperfect, but it's complicated to try and do the other stuff

I don't know if anyone commented on this, but you were wrong about the Spezza-Chara trade, it's way worse than that...Islanders then-GM Mike Milbury traded Chara, the second overall pick which would become Jason Spezza, and Bill Muckalt to the Senators for star-center Alexei Yashin. Yashin was solid and was also my first favorite player as a kid, but after an arm injury, he wasn't the same, and we all know how good Chara and Spezza were for years to come.
Who in their right mind would make these rosters? I remember remaking TWO teams in like NHL 2k6 and it took so damn long. I remade the March 26, 1997 colorado-detroit rosters. coming from an oilers fan drafting Nail Yakupov was probably the dumbest decision in sports history we should have chosen like Matt Dumba or Ryan Murray since we needed defenceman and they were 2 of the best players in the 2012 draft but that was still bad draft
Hjalmarsson was criminally underrated on the NHL games should be an 87 overall for being a top defensive Dman for almost the entirety of his career save for his final year Also kind of weird which players got zone abilities while some better players did not

Carey should have been Medium Elite. You had the same argument for Ek65 but karelson is a medium franchise and price is a low franchise.
