“Naga Issue” pertaining to the unification of all Naga Inhabited areas of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh or even Kachin of Myanmar together with present Nagaland into one umbrella call “Nagalim” is indeed a very Complex Geopolitical issue in South Asia.
Although I’m not a Naga but have been experiencing it since my childhood days in Manipur and Nagaland. We can’t deny the fact that Nagas have the glorious history and their fight for this important cause started before India’s Independence. There has been series of incidents that have killed hundreds and thousands of Nagas as well as the Indian Forces. This should have been resolved long time during those days of 1947 where adjoining States political boundaries were not demarcated or were not even in Indian Union. Afterall this one main reason is lack of unity and understanding among various tribes or faction of Nagas group and those days Govt of India in not taking this matter seriously.
Reason of complexity if Nagalim comes into effect is as follows:
1) Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh will start burning as they do not want to lose any inch of land.
2) All States are interconnected so co-existence will be an issue as there are many other tribes mainly Kukis will start another protest as they already have been blaming for ethnic cleansing in then Senapati district (Now Kangpokpi District) & Ukhrul. They already have started demanding Kukiland.
3) Meiteis the valley dwellers will start another protest.. same will happen in Assam & Arunachal Pradesh
Owing to all these reasons there is complexity of the Naga issue and almost all the predecessors/ Govt of India have been lingering this issue for long. And trying to only show off that they’re there for Nagas peace. But all in vain.
I wish and hope this issue is solved amicably by keeping all stakeholders together so there won’t be another turmoil in North East.
Indian mainland medias and bureaucrats shouldn’t ignore this important issue and should give priority before it goes out of hand. I personally want that Nagas must achieve their long standing demands and may peace prevail in Northeast. Best of luck for Nagalim. Kuknalim 🙏
Well put up but despite all our effort in uniting Indian government is playing divide and rule policy like brits did to Indians. It cannot be hide because world knows what Indian government is doing. Sad to tell you that nags are now divided in many organisations, factions and what not? But, we still have hope that one day we will achieve our freedom .
Territorial integration of all Naga inhabited lands shall never be compromised. If GOI and NSCN IM/NNPG signs a solution without integration, it will be another Shillong Accord.

Whether Indian government like it or not Naga were never under any nations and will not going to give up our right until and unless India acknowledge the rights of Nagas. Unfortunately, these divisions were made long ago by people in power in Delhi and although we've come far, we haven't come far enough.
No system or individual is perfect, and there are plenty of bad individuals in every society or hierarchy. However, taking a tainted brush and painting over all Nagaland as a violence area only brings more darkness as it would and does when done to any other human collectives.
Bottomline Peace Interlocutors can never be a former IB chief or Retired IAS officers. India as the world Largest democracy is in theory. In practice is still a long way to go.

Dear NDTV next time kindly bring the Present Interlocutor and Present Chairman of Naga Ceasefire including the Naga negotiating team in discussion. Too much assumptions by all the speakers when hardly anyone is in Nagaland may give very biased side of the story.

Nagas always had sovereign land after Simon Commsion left leaving them independent state. As far as Kashmir is concerned hindu Muslim politics are key reasons and agendas to garner votes.

Nagas had already stated their aspiration in the Memorandum to the Simon Commission during January 10,1929. "Britishers have divided the Nagas and the Indian have Subjugated the Nagas." If anyone disagree, Search Google about "Naga National Movement ".
Phungting Shimrang of NSCM IM in China and Anthony Shimray in Burma with 3000 cadres should be of special interest. Just a comparative analysis - Kashmir has may be between 200 to 250 militants/terrorists which has tied down atleast 40,000 security forces (Army and paramilitary)to tackle it. The security challenges that 3000 IM cadres ( not included the other Naga groups) in India-Myanmar border will present is no guesswork. It will either be a landmark peace settlement or a repeat of history.
It would be an epic blunder and almost criminal to think that the outcome of this peace talks would not affect the Nagas lives. Chief Minister was sent home unceremoniously from Delhi by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying "Go back and wait for the signing of the final agreement". Nagas (including the CM) can now only wait with crossed fingers and bated breath. India is at the brink of disintegration if Naga settlements is not settled cautiously.
Its the exclusive tribal subnationlism like Naga/kuki etc. which is the most powerful tool of all colonial powers to perpetuate devide and rule.

Settlement of Naga issue will be the key to Act East Policy. If you don't give solution... you can't act east nor look east and SE Asia which is the emerging market for India will be disturbed to a great extent. A no win win situation for Nagas, the entire NE as well as India and SE Asia.

The issue is about all the Nagas around the globe and not only those residing in the present Indian State of Nagaland! Why are all the channels making the same mistake???
Despite Naga history ...remember all other states of India have their history too..
Nagaland occupied by Naga tribes is an integral part of India..and nagas too are Indians....similar to all the other diverse tribes in other states by default.
India is the protector of Nagaland state too ..if not.... the Chinese would probably take over...buy local govts...with huge sums of money , capitalise on the naga poverty ...and as the Naga people are comparatively defenceless on their own... Chinese will eventually use the naga women to populate Chinese babies to create a Chinese future presence.. and the nagas would eventually lose their identity....as the chinese have covertly been doing to Tibet, N. Korean..Vietnam..other neighbouring countries....etc..
The reason why this does not happen is because of the INDIAN DEFENCE FORCES protecting Indian land and Indian land includes Nagaland.
Nagaland comes under the Indian constitution by default as with all other states.
Eg. ARE THE SIOUX, COMANCHE, APACHE, INJUNS..now part of USA ?.or are they separate countries??.
Despite their unique cultural histories they all fall under the American banner.
Respect for all diverse cultures in India is an inherent trait of great India...but it should not be a misconstrued by anyone as a bargaining chip to alienate lands from India.

Centre must know suffering of the Nagas especially in Manipur. All development is done only in the valley and not in the hills areas. Employment system is not in free and fair but in corrupt and backdoor system and mostly filled up by valley people . Politically MLA seats are not allocated in population wise. This is totally injustice done to the hills people. We want justice and demand Naga Integrations to live with greater Nagalim for better Life
