The melody and reverb are so beautiful. It's been a long week, I'm flying home in my spinner while it's raining and the Japanese lady winks at me through the mist...
dude. this channel made me want a mother 32..at first i was like "i can live without" it would turn out that isn't true. these gorgeous sounds must be implemented into my music.
Is it possible to make a short video showing indicative setting you start with to achieve this sound and then indicate which knobs you might focus on the tweak the sound as the clip progresses? It sounds brilliant btw but I'm not sure where to start in terms of dialling in this type of sound. Thanks a lot! Stuart
Hi Stuart! The sound coming out of the Mother 32 is very simple. It's close to the initial patch. Just a saw wave with slow attack and I mess around with that and the filter through out the video. If you use Valhalla Shimmer reverb on that patch it will sound like this. The pad playing in the background is a preset from the Omnisphere VST called "Across the sky". Hope that helps.
Im getting exhausted forming super latives for your videos. So i hope "fantastic" somehow will purvey the immense sense of awe i feel towards this video....
G.A.S is so strong. I just bought a digitone, and fixed my op-1 and i already want to round things out with a semi modular analog synth or something, and i barely even have finished the manuals for the other two. ughhh
Haha G.A.S is the devil but sometimes you just gotta walk through the fire. And eventually you'll learn that G.A.S aka the hypeman is mostly just that, hype, a mental pipe dreamer, some sort of procrastinating spy virus filling you with convincing arguments why you just gotta have this thing. You can always sell it or return it if you don't like it. ;) Good luck!
This sounds are amazing! I’m not sure if I should go for this one or a BEHRINGER Neutron whichI notices has cool sounds as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I have not used the BEHRINGER Neutron but it sounds pretty cool. I think the sound design possiblities are greater on the Neutron. They both sound great!
I usually put all that stuff in the video description: "Used in this video: Moog Mother 32 Omnisphere Valhalla Shimmer Reverb Soundtoys Crystalizer (hear it @ 03:07) I modulate the pitch with the midi keyboard under my desk. :D" FL Studio was the DAW.
hi i have a question i try to rebuild what you did with the lufia- final battle. my problem is when i play the midi notes from my daw the sound is like i had the Glide all the way up but it isn't, when i turn the Glide Knob a little bit it is playing correctly...
Hmm I think the DAW is triggering the internal sequencer of the M32 and that is messing things up. I had to disable midi master sync in my DAW (FL studio) to stop that from happening. So look into that, disable sync or midi clock.
Well, it's long gone but it sounds like it's a pretty simple patch. A straight saw wave with some filter envelope to make it plucky and I adjust the attack of the amp envelope to make it softer at some parts. The reverb and pitch bend that I apply from my external keyboard also does a lot to the sound.
Out of curiosity, have you created the pads with the mother 32 itself? I'm looking for a good machine for pads and I'm considering different options. Thanks!
Hi! To create pads I usually process chords and synth melodies with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. I mostly use softsynths for that. If I want to turn the M32 into a pad I use Valhalla Shimmer at close to 100% wetness. Good example of that here: th-cam.com/video/tjwHwVBWWmk/w-d-xo.html
If you're looking for a awesome analogue synth , try the minilogue xd . It has just 4 voices but with the build in sequencer and the parameter automation you can make easy unbelievable pads.
Sure! :D The M32 is connected via midi so I can control the pitch with the pitch wheel on my midi keyboard (m audio axiom 61) it sits under my desk so it's kinda hidden and out of frame.
@@RemixSample awesome! I'll be trying this when I get home with my Axiom25, still never messed around with that assign output! I sold some stuff recently to get a Meris Mercury 7 and I'm already fantasizing about the results, they will be umm let's just say 65% inspired by you ;) (but of course honestly I don't expect to get near let's just say 35% as good as you though! )
Hi! I believe I started out with a simple saw tooth waveform with some filter on it but the I'm twisting a lots of knobs during the video so it's impossible to save the patch so to speak. There's a lot of useful information in the video description about fx and whatnot.
Hello, please read the video descirption. I have written down what I used in this video to make it sound like it does. I use M32 and Omnisphere (a vst synth)
I have to look up the 'Across the Sky" patch. The music took me on a delightful journey -- again, way too short and ended abruptly, albeit, as a slow fade.... You have a knack/talent for uplifting melodies! But, my only concern with some of them is that they're fleeting. Long gone are the radio days when the tunes had to fit a ridged format. YT allows for more freedom of expression. Ambient Ballet seems to fade just as gets going. Intentional or not it's disconcerting. I know that you have other longer tunes, I just want to encourage you to develop them into longer pieces like your Dark Souls and Minilogue tunes. :-)
Those chords in omnisphere... oh my lord, I’m trying to learn music theory, but I’m curious, what chords did you play on that pad? And was the m32 line just an arpeggio? Just wondering about the musical/melodic side of this work of art. Amazing stuff!
Thanks! I just played one note of that pad that I moved up and down through out the song. It's already a chord I guess you could say. There are a bunch of those types of pad in omnisphere. So yes, that pad + M32 is all you are hearing.
M32 is on it's own track. I have omnisphere playing in the background in my DAW (FL Studio). That's where I add the effects and record the two audio tracks. You can't use the M32 as a midi controller unfortunately.
No not really. It changes during the video. It's basically a filtered down saw wave with slow attack in the beginning and then when I want it to sound more plucky I increase the attack and play around with the decay. If you have a look in the video description there's more info about how this was made.
The melody and reverb are so beautiful. It's been a long week, I'm flying home in my spinner while it's raining and the Japanese lady winks at me through the mist...
Its unbelievable how fuckin good this thing sounds.
The moment I hear this and close my eyes I fly off into this wonderful world of peace and relaxation
Man you are talented!!!!!
That's great, flying is good. :D
the filming for your videos is great
Thanks! :D
How did Deckard get that Piano in his tiny 97th Floor Apartment? Either way he Drank Whiskey to this...
Haha good question. :D
Talk about inspiration. You are the benchmark I aspire to. Simple but overwhelmingly effective.
comme un reve bleu ....magnifique
Your music fuels my creative mind. I’ll make a movie one day and you’ll be hired for the score.
Sounds great! Let do it!
Looking fondly at my mother 32. Awesome man!
Just wonderful. Love what you do with the Mother-32.
Hey, thanks a lot! I enjoy your videos as well!
So lush and warm. Pairs beautifully with the computer pads as well.
The dude is clearly tolantlevy, I watch 5 videos and the music is super! Teach me!
Again this proves that almost nothing can beat a Moog and a reverb when it comes down to moody melodic ambient. Really beautiful.
I feel everything is awesome.
Spectacular.
Cheers!
I love your work, please do some really decent & easy to follow ' How to ' tutorials please..
that's truly beautiful. Made my day ❤
Thank you Tomáš! I'm glad to hear that!
Once again you pull off something amazing with the M32.
Your music is so beautiful, great work
Thanks Chris!
I bought the album from bandcamp yesterday, it’s great and looking forward to hear your new music soon. 👍🏻
Nice, thanks for the support! =)
beautiful stuff.

Wow !
I'm blown away !!!
Your production value (Music and Video) is excellent! Your compositions are great.
Good Stuff
Thanks David! I appreciate the comment and the support!
You are my favorite TH-cam channel. Your songs are beautiful.
Lovely and inspiring.
Remarkable piece man, lot of luv in this one
So beautiful. Absolutely loved it.
Vangelis in the room! ;-)
Hehe it's funny what a bit of reverb and a bitch bend can do :D
Beautifully done.
Thank you!
In love with this piece & the kit you're using
Absolutely gorgeous, I love you!
❤
Lovely
Reminds me of Solar Fields
Amazing!
Makes me miss doing acid in the 60's
Me too! Even though I wasn't born yet!
This is absolutely beautiful! Amazing work! :)
total beauty
absolutely stunning!!

Amazing ❤ ❤ ❤
probably the only thing i will buy in the next yerar or so. I am helpless against it.
The sounds that I am hearing come out of that little thing? Completely?
I also used a sound from Omnisphere and some effects to make the sound bigger.
Again terrific jam. May I ask what camera/filter or app are you using?
sounds awesome. thank *YOU*. do you process the final sound or do any mastering? sounds so thick and great.
Hi James! I did some normalizing and EQ:ing in FL Studio.
This sounds are amazing! I’m not sure if I should go for this one or a BEHRINGER Neutron whichI notices has cool sounds as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

RemixSample Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. Will keep checking to see which one fits better to my needs.
which one did you get?
They'd play this kind of music on a spaceship...
❤
oh god YESSSSS!!!
lol can I quote you on that? ;)
hehehe- of course! :-*
Impressive. Did you use Valhalla Shimmer? Do you use the same effects on the M32 and on the Omnisphere?
Yes correct. If you click on show more in the video description I detailed what I used to make this song.
Sorry I somehow missed it. Thanks for your reply.
One would like to know what your using at the other end.
I usually put all that stuff in the video description:
"Used in this video:
Moog Mother 32

Soundtoys Crystalizer (hear it @ 03:07)

my problem is when i play the midi notes from my daw the sound is like i had the Glide all the way up but it isn't, when i turn the Glide Knob a little bit it is playing correctly...
Hmm weird, it's not something I've had to deal with so I don't really know how to fix it. Sorry. :-o
Ok thx and keep up the good work!
i got it if i press shift+rec and after that i press stop and it plays correctly from the daw. very strange.....
Hmm I think the DAW is triggering the internal sequencer of the M32 and that is messing things up. I had to disable midi master sync in my DAW (FL studio) to stop that from happening. So look into that, disable sync or midi clock.
Ah ok didnt think about that thx.....
Please share the patch!!!

What are the notes on the 32’s keyboard
Does anyone do a video of a mother 32 with just an audio out....no extras, no effects and no computers....just bare 32 audio out going to monitors ?
Yes here is an official playlist: soundcloud.com/moogmusicinc/sets/mother-32-sound-samples-1
RemixSample thank you.

What camera are you using?
I used a old Sony NEX F3 with a 50 mm lens for this video.
Beware the man with one gun...
may I ask how are you doing those wonderful pitch bends at the beginning? is the pitch being modified by the envelope or lfo here?
Sure! :D The M32 is connected via midi so I can control the pitch with the pitch wheel on my midi keyboard (m audio axiom 61) it sits under my desk so it's kinda hidden and out of frame.

@@jsogman Cool! Honestly all you need is a great reverb and a pitch weel and you will feel like Vangelis himself. :D
Can this synth be Connected to a midi keyboard?
Yes
What key is it in
Do you have the patch by any chance

Hi, beautiful sounds, did you transfered the sound to mother-32 and modulated it or you used the mother-32 as controller for the omnisphere?
M32 is on it's own track. I have omnisphere playing in the background in my DAW (FL Studio). That's where I add the effects and record the two audio tracks. You can't use the M32 as a midi controller unfortunately.
