Thank you for your very informative video. I just cleaned up my graphic card and installed it back. My graphic card, NVIDIA GTX 970, has two cooling fans and I noticed before I cleaned it up, the cooling fans were not moving at all. Now that I have cleaned it up, only one of the cooling fans is running. Is that OK? Or shouldn't both fans running together? Any help from anybody is greatly appreciated.
One of them could be stuck ir burned, I would try first to move with my hand the second fan that is not moving, if it is not... then please replace. But if it moves try to clean it very deep like here: th-cam.com/video/-N5wKBotfwg/w-d-xo.html or like here: th-cam.com/video/NafGOXPkyiU/w-d-xo.html
I have the same model of gpu but my fans are really hard to move if I try to give it a spin they barely move On load my fans doesn't pass the 400 rpm not sure how to deal with it
Hi, it can be your fans are getting old and they are dirty, you can simply clean the blades, if it does not solves your problem you must disassembly the fan and clean very deep and put some electric oil using the same thechnique I use in this video in my other channel: th-cam.com/video/NafGOXPkyiU/w-d-xo.html Is different because is laptop but the fans works the same! subscribe :D
Thanks mate it help me i have gigabyte g1 gtx 1080 and the temperature goes 76℃ while heavy gaming... i can see my dusty fans when i torce on my gpu ... i will clean it and should i change thermal paste? cuz its been more than 2 years i also use my 1080 for mining too...

Do i need to clean inside of my pc every year? I just had one and i dont know anything about handling pc parts like disassembling gpu or some parts to my case and mobo im scared to touch everything inside and im scared that after 1-3 years my gpu will get slow because of dust
It is a good practice. If you're not confortable doing that, watch some videos here on youtube and get the knowledge to do so. It is a easy process that only demands time an patience. The general instructions are simple, and if you follow them correctly you should even find the overall process very fun!
Im cleaning my pc every week, not a deep clean like what he did to his gpu, im just cleaning chassis fan, cpu fan and gpu fans with a dry cloth and cotton buds. brushing the back, corner in and outside of the case and the final touch is blowing it with electric blower. doing this is much safer than Deep clean without attaching every pc parts.
Thank you so much for posting the video Before I did not have a clue how I was going to take it apart to clean my graphics card
I mostly watched this video because I wanted to print the 580 to match my setup
What is the thickness of the thermal pads?

Sad to say not every year. Practice cleaning your pc every half a year.

Which kind of screwdriver do I need to remove the screws?
Phillips screwdriver!
Helpful
No new thermal paste????????????
Didn't need to replace it and didn't had thermal paste :(. Just cleaned the dust and it worked and sound much better
if theres no overheating issue, why he needs to change?
