- Christian Bale is revealing what it was like working with Natalie Portman for "Thor: Love and Thunder," "She was buff and every time I had a scene with her, she was angry and she was focused and she had a hell of a presence and I was bloody intimidated by her." "Thor: Love and Thunder" will be released in theaters on July 8th.

P/S: If you haven't watched Ford v Ferrari, I highly recommend that you do. It's an excellent and heartfelt movie even for non-car fans. Bale often stars in biopic (the big short, vice, FvF, the Fighter, Rescue Dawn) and I am really amazed at how much he understands the characters he was playing and how the real-life events shaped who they were. I think that's why he seems so serious and intimidating most of the time - it's hard to goof around when your characters are real-life persons and you have to pay respect to them.
The thought of Christian Bale giggling and cracking up on set is now something I desperately need to see
he would be more menacing and terriying while giggling, from the likeness of Vegeta or Brock lesnar, when they see something funny

Love listening to Christian Bale… shocked to hear he has that issue of giggling… he comes across as such a serious guy.
Followed him as an actor ever since he did Empire of the Sun.
He's the best actor ever, period.. A close second is Sean Penn, a distant third is Daniel Lewis, then Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman. The rest are 100 slots away.

Both Natalie Portman and Christian Bale were phenomenal as child actors. Natalie performance in Leon The Professional and Christians performance in Empire of the sun are so top knotch that its no surprise they grew up to be high calibre actors.

The interviewer did a great job here.. he interacted with Bale and was on his feet, not just repeating a script... good interview, props to the guy with the mic

People can say what they want to about him. Whether he's an asshole on set or not he takes his craft very seriously and he is an absolutely brilliant actor. One of my favorites to watch on screen.

He's not an asshole. The guy that he ranted at was known for being a dick and Bale was right to call him out for walking around in the background and being distracting when the actors are working hard and trying to concentrate.

We're so used to see him in highly intense roles like American Psycho and The Fighter, it's nice to see him let loose in a MCU film.

This was such a sweet Christian Bale interview. I'm so glad he joined this project.
First of all, this man doesn’t do interviews like that and to see him let loose, be comfortable and actually smile and laugh definitely shows he enjoyed filming with Marvel. This role was long overdue, but perfectly picked. He BUTCHERED this role.

Bale is mucher cooler than one might first think due to his roles. Dude is respectful and chill as fuck. Never puts himself above others even when given the opening.
Batman Begins (2005) and Superman Returns (2006) should’ve started the DCEU. Both movies looked/felt like they belonged in the same universe. Christian Bale and Brandon Routh were the perfect age to start a franchise for the next two decades!

Love that film, I re-watch it every now and then. I remember seeing it in the cinema with my brother and I thought “this guy should be the next Batman!”, so imagine my joy when he actually got the role.
I watched it as a child and thought it was decent, very underrated. Lots of ''new ideas'' for action scenes are actually ripped from that film.
What a legend he just does amazingly with every role he chooses my favorite actor of all time.

Bales likely conscious of the audio leak of him and what he thinks that does for his reputation, but frankly if you're a fan of his work or not, you have to respect his process and commitment to the art. The silver screen would be a duller place if actors like him didn't have that sort of passion. He's just a normal guy in an abnormal industry, and like any normal human in that position, he has to make an effort to remind himself how lucky he is, which is the important part, because a lot of folk probably don't. One of my favourite actors, who I've never seen turn in a bad performance.

That was so long ago, it's been addressed and he honestly apologized and put it behind him. This interview is not the behavior of someone who is actively conscious of past mistakes.

Say what you want about his rant on terminator salvation, but that’s only helped his career, because any actor/director/film crew that’s works with him is always going to be giving it there all because there so intimidated by him.
Even the cast and crew defended him after that because it came down to how passionate he was about it.
His publicist needs to get some of the behind the scenes footage of him getting the giggles.
People think of him as a monster because of that Terminator Salvation rant he had years ago.

I had the pleasure of working with him and he is amazing. He is so true to the acting and kind to everyone. When he needs that moment to get into his role he just takes a small step away and or takes a quick moment then come with amazing work and still just kind and can interact with respect.

I think the Terminator thing was overblown a little, obviously you need to keep your cool, but I kinda blame the director for not keeping things running tight for the actors to perform their best. Going in, you gotta know that Bale takes his craft seriously and if your people are not doing their job properly its gonna be a bad time. Again not excusing Bale but I can see how it happened.
