I think people should go and try the thing before actually talking about it. Sometimes you can be humbled by something you don't know like many were when bjj started swarming the martial arts community back in the days. Silat is a super profound art in terms of biomechanics, exploiting angles advantages and weapon fighting. The thing is there are a huge amount of styles and of course you should search a little about them. There are a few that only practice standing, others that are more for sports and competition... I've used a lot of silat on sparring and works for me, so I encourage you guys to try it!
Hi everyone, you can compare street fight, martial arts and fighting sport. Some have rules, other no limit, some are traditional, some use weapons, others are wearing clothes etc.. Be aware that in MMA (UFC is a organisation), there is not (for example Kendo) ?!! So I wonder why there are not in UFC 😅 WELL it's logical isn't it. So please stop to criticize and enjoy diversity as knowledge... cause you might be surprise.

Wasted my time on this fantasy crap. At the time tho i though it was great. But I realise now how utterly useless it is in actual combat.

Never seen a Silat fighter in UFC. Wonder why? Theatrical nonsense.
