Sunday is the wrong time to look for street food in Mauritius . You should aim for market day in the towns where there is a large variety. Normally around the vegetable markets there will be many vendors. I have lived in India for many years and I can say that the Mauritian street food is less hot. That Mauritian of Indian origin came mostly from the ports of Madras, Calcutta and Bombay. A vast majority of them are from the Bhojpuri / Purvanchal region and it seems in their cuisine they use less species and east less hot. You should try Mahebourg (my hometown) on Monday (market day) or on Saturday morrning/ midday. There is a vlogger who explores street food in Mauritius, In English @BryanDiscoversWorld .
