I don't know this guy, but I feel like I know this guy if that makes sense. This is the guy that is smart enough to be dangerous. Say like you are an hvac tech and you go to an engineer's house and he's been doing some work to "help" you. It is this guy.

Hah, I loved the bit about burning your finger. "Yeah it might hurt, but I'm not gonna die." I think the same way. Subscribed.

Patrick. The first thing I did after each upgrade of my MK2 --> MK2S ---> MK2.5 --> MK2.5S was print a complete set of replacement extruder parts. Remember the fan shroud should be ABS.

Your hot end is installed backward, the thermistor and heating element wires should be on the same side as the hot end fan. That’s most likely why your fan shroud is all burned.

Hi, 285c is far too hot . I have the 2s and 3s I would never run temperature that high. Because if your machine is idling at that temperature it can damage your PINDA probe . Because it happened to me, the fan isn't running. I have replaced several nozzles, I always protect the probe with a piece of heat resistant material. I have never seen so much damage to a fan director, do you leave your machine idling at high temperatures ?. Great videos keep up the good work. 👍🇬🇧 PS. the temperature I replace my nozzles at is 215c.

But the official Prusa video on nozzle changing does say 285c. Good warning about leaving there too long but I wonder why Prusa says 285c ?

That’s the dirtiest hot end I have ever seen. You had a leak at some point.

I see you're hot end is installed backwards.

I went with the hardened nozzle because I clear away filament with a needle nose pliers when it is hot,but so that I don't burn my fingers, and worry that I could damage the tip if I had a brass nozzle. Kind of expensive though.

Hardened nozzles are a better way to go in general as they can handle abrasive filaments better, But yeah a few more $$
