Robert and Bonzo were 20, John Paul was 23 and Jimmy was 25. This was March 1969 . They started their first major tour at the end of December 1968 in the US. Over the next few months - they became the top of the bill act and soon after - in the summer of 1969 - had no opening act at all and played for usually 3 hrs - the greatest band ever. Thanks for the reaction. ☮
The first time I saw them was 1969 Fillmore East in New York. All three shows at Madison square garden 1973 and a bunch of other times but maybe total 12 or 13 times. Best band ever
You lucky SOB! So you got to hear their musical development too. I was just listening to the bootleg of this tune in April of 69’ at the Filmore East. Do you have a favorite concert by them?
@PeterTea that would be like trying to pick my favorite kid I really like the early stuff more rock is bluish but everything they do is fantastic just watching the transition from the very beginning to where they ended up and where they ended but they never really ended. The music is just freaking timeless I love watching people react to led Zeppelin on these reaction channels it just blows people's minds for the first time
@@ShakuurReacts I got two songs by Zeppelin you can check out the first one is off of coda it's called wearing and tearing. The second one I believe is off The sessions album I'm not sure but there is a decent video of the song the girl I love with long black wavy hair you can't get much bluish Rock than that. Take care of my brother ☮️☮️☮️🙏🙏🙏
The first album had not yet been released in Europe. The USA had the first album out in January '69. Even here in the UK the album didn't come out until March 31st. This tv show was March 17th.
These poor kids had to sit there quietly, that sure wouldn’t be easy. There’s a couple more songs from this little show, they had the chemistry from the beginning. Their first rehearsal was on August 19,1968, Plant & Bonham were friends since about age 14, & had played in two small bands together. Page & JPJ were both sought after sessions musicians, & knew each other. The two pairs didn’t know each other a few weeks before that first rehearsal, but knew they really had something after the first song. A great story from early on is called, the breaking of America, at The Boston Tea Party Club. I might have the title slightly off, but it’s a cool story, but then their whole story is so amazing. Everything happened in just a few months, that’s how great they were from the beginning. Their new documentary movie Becoming Led Zeppelin is coming out on February 7th at only 200 IMAX theaters in the US, only 2 shows. I ordered my tickets the day they went on sale, & it’s over a 100 miles away & I can’t wait. I’m sure if not sold out, all theaters soon will be.
I grew up with Led Zeppelin..the greatest band ever.......There's a young blues player named Taj Farrant.. he's 14 yrs old..has been touring the US.. been watching him since 7yrs old..his dad took him to an acdc concert when he was 6.5 and he said I want to do this fir the rest of my life..lol he's played with many bands..has a great future..
I highly recommend starting at the beginning, & listening to each song on each album, we will follow. You can pick some live performances after each album, because they never played the song the same way twice. I guarantee you’ll love 99% of everything, & like at least that 1%. You will experience different genres, all from one band, & done to perfection. They loved what they did, & played with passion NO faking it. They have to be amazing, they are the second highest selling band worldwide, selling over 300 million albums. They only released a handful of singles, they are more an album experience. Thank you for your reaction, looking forward to many many more Led Zeppelin reactions.
I agree - the people in this crowd knew Led Zeppelin would be big. When this show was played, Led Zeppelin had released its first album in the US three months prior, in January. But, the album wasn't released in Europe until a couple weeks after this show, so probably all of the audience had not heard their music yet.
Wow, I don't think I've seen that clip before, and you're right, they're still children at this point. Do yourself a favor and check out their debut album that this song is on. It's incredible.
This is being recorded at a Denmark television studio. This is why the small audience is quiet because it is being recorded. They'd already released the first 2 albums and toured the US. LZ burst into fame. They did not rise.
First album, January 1969. First American tour, late December through mid-February. This TV performance, March of 1969. Followed by more US touring. ( two more tours I think). October 1969, Zep II
Bro their bootlegs are where its at But i get that might be a but more boring for some viewers since theres no video and its just muffled audio but their musicianship was incredible and roberts vocal evolution is interesting too From having the single greatest rock voice of all time at the age of 20 to having to learn how to use his voice all over again by age 24
I WILL PICK JIMMY PAGE EVERY TIME! THERE MIGHT BE TECHNICALLY BETTER GUITARIST LIVE BUT YOUR TRUE LEGACY IS IN THE STUDIO! YOU HAVE TO CONSTRUCT GREAT SONGS! * HENDRIX - CLAPTON - BECK - EDDIE- = 😒
I got to see the mighty Zep back in 1970. There was a music festival here in Winnipeg, Canada with Iron Butterfly and Led Zeppelin as the headliners.

@@rogercaruso9337 Cool. It must’ve been great to see them at such a small venue though. It’s great to see people turned on to Zeppelin.
@PeterTea Yes sold them quite a few different venues big small did it matter they played their asses off.
Listen to JPJ’s bass line supporting Jimmy’s wandering.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR ANOTHER LED ZEPPELIN REACTION
Thanks for your patience 😅 I’m back with consistency now!
Great reaction! Huge Led Zeppelin Jimmy Page fan here
This is Led Zep's Day One... 🤙😎
I was born in March of 1961. I was lucky to have had a sister 10 years older than me. Got into great music!
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
This audience had no clue who Led Zeppelin was they were there to see A. TV show.
That’s crazy

This was a broadcast/recoding for Dansk Radio(TV) in Denmark.
March 1969, two months after the first album was released. The band was about seven months old at this point.
It wasn't even released in Europe at this point. Didn't get released in the UK until March 31st.

The entire 73 MSG show is unbelievable!
So glad to see today's young people enjoy the music of my teen years. Great review!

The audience had never heard ANYTHING like these 4, nor had the world. They never followed; they led all the way for the next decade.
Yes first concert!!!
Still amazing❤❤
March '69, a week or so before the release of their first album in the UK. It (Led Zeppelin I) had been released in the US in mid January.

Yeah man!!!!!! Get the LED Out!!!!!!❤❤❤ ❤ watch the whole show!
Wow, you got lucky. They let you post this most get it blocked one of my favorite performances by Led Zeppelin. Cheers.
Going from Led Zeppelin 1 to Led Zeppelin 2 was like going from black and white tv to color tv. Both changed the world, but god damn!!!!!!!

This was in Denmark. Saw them live in '69 in S.F.

@ I’ll try to remember that.
one of their 1st, if not the 1st show.
This was very early, before they recorded the first album.
They were all under 25 here, Robert Plant had just turned 21.
The bass...
John Henry Bonham (pronounced "Bahn-em") would end up as one of the best rock drummers the world has known.
