Hey guys first time I saw Zeppelin was 69 Fillmore East New York all three shows at the garden in 1973 dodgers in 75 I saw him about 13 times on freaking unbelievable take the journey you'll enjoy it.
The underrated and brilliant glue of the band. I keep screaming this on TH-cam but people don’t realize,.. he can also play amazing basslines WITH HIS FEET. Nobody f’s with JPJ.
@@johnathanmichaud867you have a point, while I love JP his guitar style has often been criticized as “sloppy” his notes aren’t “crisp”. I personally don’t care, how technically perfect the playing is, I just know when I listen to his guitar work it evokes emotion.
@@kikivon3501What I think is really cool and interesting about Jimmy is basically the duality of him as an artist. In the studio, he is THE producer. Meticulously involved in every aspect of bringing his vision to life, not just his guitar parts (which he was just as calculated with), and he’s fantastic in that setting. But live, it is all about the feel, the emotion and the moment. People already have the record, the can listen to it anytime, but he wanted an experience of a different kind. And, I mean we could talk about his playing falling off later in their career due to heroin and general exhaustion, but earlier when they were in their prime as a live band he was completely untethered and just went for it without caring if it landed or not because he had the most solid rhythm section in the world and he could simply keep playing. It’s kinda part of the allure, and I feel like a lot of people miss the point when it comes to his live playing because they would catch him. He’s always fascinated me as an artist
It's kind of weird I suppose to tell a couple of strangers you're PROUD of them - but I am exactly that. I am proud of the two of you going down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole and understanding it, getting it and loving it and all the more I can say is thank you for sharing...cuz I love it!
I was at this concert. no support band, just Led Zeppelin playing for three and a half hours of musical perfection. They finished so late that i missed my train home and had to spend the night on the floor of the railway station. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.
This is rock music at its highest level. Led Zeppelin can take blues, jazz, gospel, rock, folk, reggae, and turn it on its head. You see what they do with this one song, how much they put into it. Honey, these concerts would go on for 3-4 hours. Can you imagine what it took to deliver this? No computers, no back up singers, no auto-tune, no dance choreography - just plain f-ing talent. I was blessed to have been a teenager during the Zep years. Their albums are works of art. Then you have the concerts where they improvised the heck out of the songs. They never played a song live the same way twice. Best Musicians, Best Rock Band, Best Music ever! ♥️
Plant & Page draw the great improv from each other, Plant gets Jimmy to kill it even more, & Jimmy’s playing brings the vocals out of Plant. Absolutely love these guys.
@ yes I know, & it wasn’t intended like that, but Page & Plant do bring out the improv. JPJ & Bonham follow amazingly what the other two do, spur of the moment. I absolutely loge each of them, & miss Bonham so much.
luv their interactions...especially when Plant gets Page to sing. One can see the respect they have for each other's musical talents. Greatest Band EVER!
Zeppelin is a bunch of English guys in the 1970s electrifying Mississippi delta blues from the 1930s. This is American, primarily Black, sounds brought back to us.
What culture failed to tell you is that rock bands are soul bands. Just a little faster and a little more volume. Glad to see you two are digging in. It's beautiful music...
ALL four of those guys playing their heart out.... I'm old enough, and was lucky enough, to have seen them in that year, 1973. In a 3,000 seat theatre and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Took me until the next day before I was hearing properly again...!!! Keep on Rocking guys.
They were showing off. And I LOVE every single second of it. That's what made them so great live. Each one trying to top the others with their talent. Amazing. I enjoy watching people "get" what I believe to be the greatest music group ever.
Thank you guys. Subscribed and really appreciating your musical and thoughtful reactions! I'm 66 and hail from Alberta, Canada. I've been listening to LZ for a long time now and, it just never gets old. Being in the "pocket" is one of those special events which, thankfully, we have the blessing of being able to see and hear it. This is timeless, this is the fruit of the musical gods. This song is a moment in heaven. Namaste. 🙏🏻🎶
The way they described themselves is "tight but loose" meaning they improvised in the open spaces in the song, but landed at the hard points. Best that ever did it
I love this because we got a chance to just hang out and listen to this awesome music together. I actually liked how there was not viable video and we could collectively just listen.
I’m 60 years old and have been listening to LZ for 50 + years and even if I lived for another 200 years, the chances of 4 musicians getting together and doing something that could dethrone LZ will never happen!!! When all the right things happen at the right time, for the right reason , you get LZ and an out of this world happening. When the stars don’t align , you get groups like Poison, hair bands ,posers, pretenders!! When someone says it doesn’t get better than this, they were dead on balls accurate when referring to the mighty LZ!!!
Nailed it, guys, about how they poured everything in to the song. For another great example, check out 'Since I've been lovin' you' - either the studio version or live at MSG 1973. Both superb versions but quite different too.
I am now a seasoned 60 year old kick ass fan of Led Zeppelin since I was 11.......still know every word to every song they ever made. This is my FAVORITE song....."Gabriel let me blow your horn....." goosebumps rolling up and down my spine. LEGEND.
You guys have caught on so fast, by not stopping the song hardly ever? Great job, cause we can't even see the video part, but your letting your audience enjoy the whole song!!!
There are a few live performances of this floating around, one from the same week of concerts but you guys used the best one. They were all ON POINT this performance.
Ok- okayyy 10th grade, two memories; one riding my bike with my boom box and a road trip from Louisiana to Las Vegas just me and my mom, me my mom and Led Zeppelin ❤
This a a bit deeper into the archives. You guys should listen to dazed and confused, babe im gonna leave you, the lemon song, hey hey what can i do. Plenty more but yeah you guys make me feel like its my first time again too! I get sweaty when i listen to zepp😂
Some of the songs your lovin on are old blues numbers written by old blues blacks! Who never saw how their music would touch people so deeply! Led Zeppelin interpretation is powerful !
Banger song! I got to see the mighty Zep live back in 1970 when I was 16. I would like to suggest a song from one of my other favourite bands Rush who were influenced by Zeppelin early in their career before they became more progressive rock. Between the Wheels from the R30 tour. Cheers

It's amazing. I honestly don't have a clue what I'm talking about but it's amazing. It's like Shakespeare, all the words a stage and every man a player. Every man wears his smile like an armor, a soft voice to beguile the earnest in their heart, each and every one a moment of deception lest they see the truth of me.
I used to pay more attention to Plant and Page, who are undoubtably incredible. But now I almost solely pay attention to Jones and Bonham. They are locked in here

John Paul Jones is literally the reason I play bass
The underrated and brilliant glue of the band.

Same for me, but it’s Jimmy Page and the guitar

Yes! An anomaly for younger generations. The pride is not only warranted, but necessary.
Nevermind the stellar guitar work, give the bass and drums the love they deserve, they killed it.
Boys I got to see them live at 17...best night of my life...and I'm 65.
I saw them on In Thru The Outdoor tour in Atlanta. In The Evening was just epic

So jealous. I was born just a few years too late. But i have seen Jimmy play live so i can die contented.

the wanton song
Moby Dick is another one that features John Bonham on drums
This I s how 60s 70s music was received. I had no fancy headset I had vinyl records I listened to on my turntable and the radio stations.
Zeppelin is 4 guys who's chemistry is pretty untouchable!!! They just plug in and play!!!!!
They are the Hammer of the Gods. Cant wait to see their movie in Feb. Becoming Led Zeppelin. 🤘🤘
