  • This my tour of Tuscany in early March.
I hired a Ducati Multistrada V2S from Hertz in Rome and then based myself in Siena for a week and travelled all over.
Daniele at Hertz in Rome was very helpful and the rental all went smoothly.

I visited lots of lovely hill top towns, Florence and rode some terrific roads.
Siena itself is stunning and a wonderful place to stay. It’s central and only about 3.5 hours ride from Rome on the autostrada. I stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Revizza which I would definitely recommend and would stay there again . Reasonably priced and own car park. It’s simple but in a wonderful old building in the heart of Siena.

There’s a ZTL - emissions zone in Siena but motorbikes are exempt - same in Florence. For hilltop towns like Sam Gimignano and Montepulciano you’ll need to leave the bike outside the walls but there’s always motorbike parking near the gates.
Tuscany is a great tour destination, lots to see, great food and amazing roads.
