Some excellent additions there, all top stuff. I love Linda Ronstadt, I'll be looking out for that live one, my favourite is Canciones de Mi Padre which I have in 3 formats.
Thanks - that's actually one of the few Ronstadt albums I don't have. Not sure why. I'll have to pick it up in the wild. If its your favorite - gotta be really good. Thanks.
Thanks Alan for the kind words. I've not gotten round to getting 'Luck And Strange' yet. 'Phaedra' is the high-point of Tangerine Dream for me. I love Doo Wop. So $3 for that box set was a real bargain.
It makes me very happy ❤ to see your finally coming around on Queen... That's a great live Queen album. Crank it up... Love the Alan Rosenberg Show. Ps you ever think about doing a live show?
Thanks Glen - I'm trying - I do try to keep an open mind....and ear. I haven't thought of that. But interesting idea. As you know my videos are recorded "live" with no edits, so really I could do that. Thanks.
Tangerine Dream, fine late-night listening between Alpha Centauri (1971) & Rubycon (1975), not that I remember that much of it - again, a mate was a big fan and had all the albums at that time. My only recent acquisitions have been the 50th Anniversary Zappa Apostrophe 5CD set which is expensive and magnificent, and a curious little album from 2007 by John Sebastian & David Grisman called Satisfied. And I have pre-ordered Jakko Jakszyk's forthcoming book entitled 'Who's the boy with the lovely hair' which could be a really good read considering who he has worked and played with over the years (from Level 42 to the mighty Crimson and all things in between). And, being a one-time huge Airplane-Starship fan (Dragonfly was THE acid album for late 74, if I am allowed to say that. Whatever, it's true. Most Friday nights), the less said about Winds of Change the better.................
@@martinstarnes2237 regarding the Airplane Starship I hear you. Although I’ve never been a huge fan of Dragonfly. Love Red Octopus and Spitfire and some of Earth. After that obviously not the same.
Live Killers his some good Queen rockers Tie Your Mother Down Hammer to Fall Under Pressure (pretty sure it's Roger singing the Bowie part, but it works!). One Vision (wasn't that one in The Highlander?).
Thanks Alan, lots of interesting stuff, but I must immediately gravitate to My Thing--I look at the set list from the RFK show to open the Voodoo Lounge tour--and I could almost cry. I mean look at that: a full seven songs from the then new album, which is just about half of that release. And the length of the show??? Two hours and twenty minutes. Hard to believe they used to play that long, but yeah, that would be about right back then. They clearly felt a rebirth with the Voodoo Lounge album, and it showed with how much of it they featured in their sets, and how much of the songbook they opened up. And how NICE that they didn't close with Satisfaction! As for the "Alternate" Voodoo Lounge, I love the version that is Disc 1 of Voodoo Brew, and I'm wondering if that is what makes up the content of the picture disc you have??? Honestly, I never liked picture discs.... And since you whetted my appetite for that show, I did a quick search on eBay for I Can't Get Next to You...and found one listed for $85. Geeeez....
Thanks so much - stay away from that RFK bootleg unless you find it cheap - it's an audience recording with a lot of talking. It's a listen to once disc for sure. But yea that set list was to die for. I saw the Voodoo Lounge tour at Giants stadiium - was a fantastic show and yes, the Stones were really pushing the album. To me its a great "live" album - most of the songs sound really strong live. As for the Alternate Voodoo Lounge picture disc - it's more of a compilation of great tracks from Voodoo Brew - I really liked it. Very listenable. Honest Man is a great lost track. Thanks so much!
