- NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams launched on the Boeing Starliner on June 5 for a test flight that was expected to last a week or so but issues with the ship's engine thrusters have prompted delays for their return. NASA insists that the astronauts are not "stranded" in space. NBC’s Tom Costello reports for TODAY.

The only thing braver than going into space is doing it on anything built by Boeing.
No stranded, just marooned😂
Only one died in that flick.... ;-P
Can we get a video of them saying we are not stuck?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 exibit
Not stranded just stuck. This is America in a nut shell
I worked on the development of the Starliner/ CTS 100 at Bigelow Aerospace in Las Vegas and I could tell you that there were people working on the Starliner that had absolutely no business in the aerospace industry. My direct supervisor was fired for the use of cocaine. he caught his fingers in a industrial size drill press and almost ripped them off then the guy that replaced him was just a model maker who obviously had ties with upper management. I am not surprised there are issues with the Starliner
Unless they want a Red Bull award, jumping isn't an option,
Seems pretty stuck to me.
NASA's definition of stranded is forever. They have no schedule
Technically they're correct. Stranded means "left without the means to move from somewhere". They're actually moving at 17,500 miles per hour.😊.
More proof that if its Boeing I'm not Going.
Pre-merger, Boeing used to have a company t-shirt that said, "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going..."
My, how times have changed...
@@igorschmidlapp6987 At one time I had one about 1998. Long since lost.
I would just stop reporting on this.
I literally can't believe the company that made this, makes the jets to protect us.
SpaceX to the rescue
Asking spaceX is bad PR ... The astronauts might have to die ,but they must come in the Boeing capsule.
@@doctorpanigrahi9975 i guess we will see..
Roscosmos or China, more likely! the Soviet R-7 sent US astronauts to space for 10 years (obviously after the fall of the USSR, USA didn't have a space station at that time, only the Soviets did, Mir.)
They’re not stuck, they can catch a ride home on a Dragon.
How long will it take NASA to ask SpaceX to give their stranded Astronauts home because the Starliner is not flyable.
Elon doesn’t do anything to help others unless he’s being paid.
@@jessicasparklewhy would he? None of this is cheap to do. Go ahead and finance their safe return then if you got the money.
Who surprised it’s Boeing.
Incidents like these, coupled with the double-speak, highlight why public trust in NASA is so low.
The NASA and ULA are aiming for an Oscar. So much drama.
They were to only be at the station for 2 days. Seems like stranded, no matter how the free press wants to spin it.
The astronauts just want to do an experience of how many days human can survive without food in space.
can they send a 737 Max to get them ?
If it's Boeing, you're not going...😂
So, they're not stuck but will be there "indefinitely"? What does that mean?
Definition of the word stranded... Left without the means to move from somwhere. -Oxford Languages
There is no sound except for the end of the video.
And the passengers and crew on the S.S. Minnow thought it was just a three hour tour.
It's the next reboot of "Lost in Space"...
In other words, they are stranded
They are not stranded, they're just too lazy to leave.
You are saying those astronauts are "stranded" in space, meaning you are also trying to say that the other astronauts in there are "stranded".
Not stranded, not landed.
What does it mean they're NOT stranded?? When someone doesn't have the means ready to come back from a place in the middle of actual nowhere, it's called BEING STRANDED 😂.
Suni is the Margret Hamilton of space
they are having a good time there.
Yip no sound 😂
I don't remember hearing anything about them even going into space, now the information is so low key _ what's really up?
They launched it in to space with leak in prupoltuion system did not think the vibrations g force and sudden tempature change could make it worse ?? Hahaha almost killed 2 people had they not made it to dock at space station they would be dead
No sound
Saving the life of the astronauts first is more important than NASA trying to involved in a massive public relations exercise and downplay Starliner’s problems about learning from its setback while the astronauts is in a threatening situation in space.
Is there any way to rescue Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore and bring them home safely!?!?
Some one say they have many missing going to do, so delay return back to Earth. Not stranded.😅😅😅Let America great again.
Robinson Crusoe family was not stranded on an island. They wanted to be left alone by themselves for more family time. Likewise, Boeing Starliner crew is not stranded. They wanted to get away and to extend their stay for the lovely view of Mother Earth.
If there's no real problem, why say not stranded( their word) and why say indefinitely?
Now is PR excercise
Next NASA will tell me they sent two women into space.
More than two, except one didn't make it there, and one didn't make it back...
Not technically stranded but it'll take a few months at least for spaceX to go get them, you can't just launch junk into space. Right Boeing?!!
Couldn't they ask Roscosmos for help? They will have a Soviet R-7 lying around, right?
When NASA had real engineers they built and launched Voyager 1977 which continues to work to this day. Meanwhile if its built by Boeing it ant going.
Lost in Space 😂
They are stuck.
They give they product big names; add on unnecessary fancy technology and when it comes to performance it is crap
they should ask china for help now because they got all the equipments. if they could, they wouldn't be doing nothing to now
They are not telling truth there’s big trouble.
🤣🤣no stuck, waiting for boeing to build next
By definition Stranded mens left without the means to move from somewhere... So... until they returm to earth... they are stranded.
I always expected that the Chines could become stuck in space, at least not the Americans and not at all a Boeing space craft.
Not stranded, Forgotten would be a better word.. Forgotten by NASA BOING National News. Most of the American people have not forgotten because they dont even know about it.
Lies there in orbit now ..
Destroying our esrth
Don't worry guys, the Soviet R-7 can still be used to save them... oh wait (USA doesn't allow help from Roscosmos.
Roskosmos. 😅😅😅
The truth is Sunny's Chin punched a hole into the side of teh ship and now they have to patch it ! 🤣🤣
I mean it makes sense that gender isn’t gender in US and they can identify to a billion different things now.
All Lies
Did they finally get help from Russia in space again?
Most of the space station is Russian, and Roscosmos possibly could help.
Nasty😐
😂Starliner😂😂😂what a joke , especialy for all taxpayers😢
Space is a psy op and your reaction to dismiss is how well the scam has worked.
Have a shift repainting the ceiling and changing the star bulbs later, don't believe everything right!?
So they are stuck😂 Biden world. Don’t believe your eyes or ears just listen to msm 😂
Would you want to come back to earth with Biden inc and Hillarys global music club or would you choose to walk on the sun 😎🥃
They're not stranded. They can re-enter Earth's atmosphere anytime riding on Suni's chin.
America has a lot of heroes like Superman, spiderman, batman, and America Capteen to help ...

The one astronaut (Suni) is actually Indian. I think you might need to rethink this comment 😅😂
