3-Ingredient Crunchy SESAME SEED CANDY

- This recipe has very few ingredients: sesame seeds, sugar, and a little butter and it is super delicious! 😋

You'll need
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of sesame seeds
1 tsp of butter
Here's how
1- Pour 1 cup of sugar into a non-stick skillet.
2- Melt the sugar while stirring with a spatula.
3- When the sugar is fully melted, add in 1 tsp of butter and turn the stove off.
4- Quickly stir in 1 cup of sesame seeds until well mixed.
5- Pour the mixture on a parchment paper immediately.
6- Spread a little bit and cover with another layer of parchment paper.
7- Flatten with the help of a rolling pin.
8- Uncover and use a sharp knife to cut the large square of candy into small squares, diamonds, or rectangles while the sesame paste is still warm and soft.
9- To speed up the cooling process and to keep the candies from sticking together, place them in the freezer and leave them there for 15-20 minutes.
10- Separate the candies and put them into a ziplock bag.
11- They can be served immediately or can be stored in the fridge.
12- Crispy sesame seed candies go great with coffee and tea.
13- Enjoy!

I know how to make this and I love it, but I wanted to know how other people made it. While I only use sugar and sesame seeds,
adding a little butter doesn’t seem like a mad addition. 🥰

Try adding a bit of nutmeg in the mix, and a light sprinkle of course salt over the top when they're still soft! Makes a wonderful addition to an already great snack.
I also occasionally add a bit of honey in, but it makes them more prone to going sticky from humidity.

Only honey without sugar will be too soft. Sugar hardens it.

Yes
If you watch the video the sugar is caramelized which is a big part of the flavor! Honey is a liquid and a different animal!
