Not quite as good as one that has four nailgun cartridges cast in angled out forward from the center around a small steel tube down the center that's then wrapped with heat treated segments of 3/64ths aircraft cable... but I'm ok with that.
It's like that fictional hydrashock ammo in stalker anomaly. It's a hollow point 45 APC but they shoved a steel penetrator in the middle instead of lead.
@@michiganengineer8621 I could be wrong, but I feel like tear gas is something that is not allowed in war and which our LEOs use against civilians frequently.
You’re a slug Artist Jay. Great video Jeff, and thank you Shane for coming out to shoot these beasts. The extended Taoflederfamily appreciates you all. Hope you are all living your best lives.
That slug is absolutely terrifying in the best possible way. It's what you use to make sure whatever you shot it at is NEVER an issue, ever again (and that anyone who inspects what's left of said target never even thinks about repeating the mistake). Absolute brutality and accuracy... all it'll cost you is your shoulder.
Wow that was cool! The fragnato functioned extremely well. I wish I could’ve stayed out longer. The gel block and gunny bear were very cool to see the fragmentation. Great job as always Jeff!
Thanks to Jay for producing these outstanding projectiles. A "tip of the hat" to Zac, Amanda and Shane. It's been awhile since we had 3 shooters in 1 video. And thanks to "El Hefe" to loading and recording. 👍
@@taofledermausIt’s not especially distracting on our end, if that makes you feel any better. I’m continually surprised by the inventiveness of contributors like Jay and Evan. Yeah, you got these way out of order but honestly it feels like you saved the best for last. I hope Jay watches these videos with an eye to making improvements for his next iterations of the general concept. It sure seems to be a winner so far.
It kinda makes sense that the rods would separate. With it having a hollow point, when it hits something it will expand outwards from the center which will pull the rods away from the lead body. Definitely something for these mad geniuses to remember in future builds. Using a cast lead body to hold them together with a hollow point to pull them out when it hits is an idea they should incorporate in future builds! Thanks Geoff! Oh, and I loved the shootout to The Cannoneer channel. We suggested, more than a few times, that he should drop you an email and ask for suggestions on how to support his projectiles without blowing past his gas seals. I never expected that Evan would send him a few prototype rounds! So, thank you if you have been talking to him. He really seemed to be getting frustrated with having the same failures over and over again.
That thing is insane. Clear Ballistics gel is notoriously tough, much more so than flesh. I’ve never seen a round leave a wound cavity like that. If that hit a hog or a deer it would be absolute carnage.
Hey there from Canada. Thanks for another great video. Seems as though our firearms laws may revert back to mormal after the election. Currently all the criminals are allowed to do all the drugs they please then commit whatever crime they desire with the weapon of their choice. Fingers crossed!
This thing has gotta be in the top 3 of incredible slugs you guys have tested so far! Absolutely incredible in the gel block, and the Taoflederhead with the soap is an awesome target too!
Jeff your reaction from the impact on the pot of water says it all, when someone who's been doing a niche thing for this long reacts like that you know something special is happening
Jeff, another great video. You always make awesomeness. And to Jay, you are one diabolical s.o.b. Don't ever stop creating slugs!!!! Love it love it love it
Wow, brutal slug, does everything it says on the label. Love this channel and the enthusiasm of all the shooting crew. Thank you and all the best from Somerset UK 👏🏻💯👍🏻❤️
Wish I could give this video more than one like! This channel is an endless inspiration for junk rounds. My best regards and respect to Jay and your other diabolical, crafty fans.
13:25 This is the one time I wish you had a 200k fps camera. It would have been revealing on how the slug comes apart after impact. No doubt it is absolutely a brutal slug.
Another outstanding/devastating projectile from Jay 🏆 Thank You Zak, Amanda, and Shane for sacrificing your shoulders 🪖(excellent shooting too 🎯). Thanks again Jeff 👍.
Another outstanding video! Jay is another brilliant maker of innovative slugs. We really are blessed to have fellow fans who send in, and I don't use this term lightly, their works of art! When you first look at this slug, it looks pretty normal, but those looks are deceiving! Thank you to Zac and Amanda for donating their shoulders to science. Without them we would not have a video. Thanks also to Shane for spending his time on many of these videos as well. I love the Rorschach gel descriptions he gave of our target. I could see both the jellyfish and the aloe plant. Does that mean Zac is as insane as I am? LOL! Most of all, thank you Jeff for all the hard work you put into making these videos. Prost!
Thanks for another great video. Impressive slug design for sure, but what consistently impresses me is your ability to generate useable loads from non-standard projectiles, and you do so with a high success ratio.
The sand coating on the head is actually a REALLY good idea! Gives a lotta contrast for the initial impact, and then you can just wash it off like you did and see how the penetration looks afterward.
I think this is the most brutal slug that I've ever seen shot on your show. Jeff, truly terrifying, and as far as self defense goes, okay, I don't think there's a lawyer in the world that could get you off on a self defense with these results!
Can you imagine the morticians comments after prepping the body that got hit by one of these!!! My hats off to your shooters too, great job sitting there, taking the punishment and still shooting great! Great video Jeff and an awesome slug!
The only bad thing about that slug is if someone got hit with it they wouldn't be around long enough to appreciate that fantastic craftmanship. Brutal and amazing.
A 2oz slug that has a steel penetrator *and* throws roll pins in every direction is diabolical
Not quite as good as one that has four nailgun cartridges cast in angled out forward from the center around a small steel tube down the center that's then wrapped with heat treated segments of 3/64ths aircraft cable... but I'm ok with that.

TRUE
So many times I am reminded of the restrictions set by the Geneva Convention, and how this channel regularly breaks them. 😂
Nothing to worry about. The GC only applies to recognized Military forces, I don't think LEO has to abide by it either
You can't break a rule that hasn't been made yet and shotguns are still allowed.
Geneva suggestions
Us civilian types don't have to abide by the rules of war if we ever need to defend ourselves.

The spread of those pins in the gummy bear was incredible. Great video as always, thanks Jeff and crew!
thanks John
Just haunting. Wow!
That was really impressive, the circular pattern of the roll pins almost going 90 degrees to the momentum. My first thought was I need those.
That detonation at the end of that gel block was WILD! Another great video everyone! Thank you
Those appear to be an outstanding design ... for dinosaur hunting. I'll bet they'd be a stinker to mass produce, on any level.
Bud, where there is a will there is a way. We're Americans!
Perhaps The way the guy makes them but there are easy ways around that , casting comes to mind
you dont need to mass produce them if the first shot works

Maybe Jay can make a version for that Punt Gun?
That would be something to see!
