There is very high instability after PhD in physics. Apart from assistant professors there are very few permanent positions available. Only the person who have genuine interest in Physics should pursue doctorate else go for BEd and prepare for teacher.
Sir, I am doing B.Sc. Hons Physics only because I want to become a researcher. I have no interest in an industry job. But my parents expect me to start earning good in 4-5 years from now. Please give a genuine answer, can I earn well while focussing on research in an Integrated PhD program from a research institute like IISER? How many years would it take to complete the integrated msc degree? and what is the scope for earning after that? Sir now even the rules for becoming a college lecturer have changed, which have made PhD necessary. so I can't take the option of simply completing M.Sc. then clearing net and applying for lecturership along with PhD. Then What should I do?
Sir..i recently secured 98.22%ile in JEE MAINS2022,AIR 872 in IISER APTITUDE TEST and qualified JEE ADV! I am getting decent NITs/IITs with CSE branch and also getting IISERs...i am really interested in astrophysics, but quite unsure whether I will go for phd or not! Should I go for btech in CSE/ ECE? Or should i go for IISERs? In future, will i be able to go for msc-phd in astrophysics, if i go for engeeniring now? Since i belong to a middle class family,job opportunities are also important, if required, which i can get from btech... Pls guide me sir
After Doing BTech , You can do MSc in Astronomy from IIT Indore, for this you have to Qualify IIT JAM Exam with Physics..... There are various other Options , like JEST to go for Int PhD even after doing BTech.... But, if you are willing yo switch for Science.... then Switch it from Now.... Your fundamentals will be very clear, and you will be able to do some decent research.
