EVs are NOT SELLING...!

- In this video we're looking at an article from the Telegraph, that says EVs are not selling... Even with big discounts, they just aren't finding buyers. Why is that?
Is it because people are sitting on their hands and not spending money just in case WW3 happens?
Is it because the discounts just aren't big enough?
Is it because the government removed the £5,000 electric vehicle grant?
Or is it just because they are rubbish?
Let's find out!

As someone in the motor trade, EVs are dead wood, they do not sell and at auctions, they sit unsold. Add the severe depreciation and loss of confidence in them, they will soon be gone in the history books as one of the worst inventions. Don’t fix what’s not broken, EVs didn’t need to exist.

EVs do make sense to ease the use of burning fuel for energy, but they will never supplant the combustion engine completely, the United States isn't set up for full electric transportation. This is something you'd target for the future, trying to push this idea ahead by 100 years is the issue... First you need the infrastructure then you work on the vehicles they put the wagon before the horse.
@@jrag1000 you do know the amount of fuel and “energy” used to make an EV in the first place is much more than a normal car production. EVs make no sense apart from maybe for company car drivers due to no tax which is a con. There is a reason petrol and even diesel sales are still growing rapidly to this day and certain manufacturers have stopped EV production completely.
When we moved from horses to cars, no incentives or laws were required to facilitate the change….. just something that was better than the previous option. I think this says it all.
Exactly. No one ever talks about horse manure, flies and disease. The streets in big towns must have been absolutely foul.

'Incentives' - Government taking taxpayer money and giving it to private industry. Scandalous!
They have done that forever with everything. The government always give our money away and give themselves huge pay rises. It won't ever end
Also, like sending it abroad and spending it on hotels for migrants while homeless sleep on the street outside.
Like they don’t give incentives to petrolhead turds, they do, that’s why you sill have car manufacturers producing locally.
The whole thing is a fiasco, the incentives are to encourage buyers because the government knows nobody wants them yet they fine the car manufactures if they don't build a certain amount so they build a bunch and stuff them in storage lots. Unfortunately government officials get paid even when they screw up.

EV’s do have negatives but range anxiety is not an issue. But like Mac master said EV’s don’t suit everyone but if you travel less than 200 miles 75% of the time they work 100% of the time. Stats from government pre EV’s is that most people do less than 70 miles a day. Secondly new EV’s have 400mile range! The sales levels are bad and people don’t want them but saying they bad is not always correct people want an excuse not to buy EV’s. The only truth is that the infrastructure is crap and if you can’t charge at home don’t buy one.
Why would you buy a car that loses value like an EV does🙃 Ask Lee (MacMaster)
Whenever governments get Involved, market, distortions occur. This is a prime example.
Cars are so ridiculously expensive now I'm surprised anyone is buying them. For example a bmw 3 series starts at £39,000. An m3 starts at £82,500. It's incredible.
Thats inflation for you ! And apparently its only at 3% even a mid range Honda civic is £36,000 now. Even a Aygo X is £19k.
For that sort of money I'd just get a 70's Ferrari. The extra cost in fuel and servicing more than offset by zero depreciation. Pick the right one, you may even make a profit on it. Oh yeah, and zero tax.
Wages stagnant for 2 plus decades doesn't help
This deserves a video
And I am still chuffed to drive my gr Yaris from time to time.
Geoff, Tesla are laying off 6,000 staff due to a huge drop in EVs in Texas & California. Elon Musk has seen a 9% drop in profits since just March. The game is up in my opinion.
Part of that is the interest rates are too high. A 60k car cost much more at 7% interest than at 3% interest. If you made 60k a year you could theoretically afford a 60k ev but its going to take you a lot longer to own that car. With a 6 year loan you might be selling the car for battery issues before you pay it off.
Reports are 11% down profits and 10% global workers.
So Tesla are laying off 10% of their workforce, like they've done every 18 months. Any body trying to predict trends in EV sales (or petrol car sales) by looking at just a few months, has been proven over and over for decades to be a fool. Meanwhile the trend since 2017 (the peak for ICE) is a 25 million 29% decline), and EVs over the same period are up 1800% ( room under a million to 15 million).

I was in the motor trade for over 30 years & imo the EV industry is in desperate trouble now, once the market decides they don't want a product the game is up. Subsidies have got them this far but now the market will decide the outcome.
Sales slow, new prices are cut then second-hand values plummet, then panic sets in, prices are cut again & down & down you go...
The Globalist's persuaded the Governments & Auto Makers down a dead end road & the end of that road is almost in sight.
When you reach the end of a dead-end road you only really have one choice...
Turn around & go back to what you know...😁
People don't want them. The novelty has worn off. The vast majority of people prefer internal combustion.
The burning of the Notre dame in 2019 came before a global disaster ?
This year that building in Denmark burnt, so does this precede a 'disaster' next year ?
Notre Dame was an electrical wiring issue in the roof due to cable arking.

As dull as we are we still have some decent instincts and we know it's a wrong un
The main problem with EVs is they are too expensive, most people don't have the ability to charge them at their homes and there is hardly an infrastructure in place to drive them and charge them whilst travelling. Also the factor than some EVs appear to have hidden faults, and self combust and have strange electrical malfunctions.
As we all paid a proportion of the cost of the cost of electric vehicles currently on the roads surely we should be entitled to free transport back from the pub from those who currently have the vehicles we helped pay for. Sounds only fair to me.
Why would you buy an electric car when it will be worthless as soon as you drive out of the dealer.
More incentives funded by tax dollars at this point would not only be a crime, it's something only government would do, throwing more money at an obviously failing investment.
Of course the EV demand is falling because the fool market has been saturated and the buyers cannot sell the ones they have purchased so are stuck with them. It is good for the rest of use because while they are sitting in a car park trying to charge it reduces the traffic on the roads.
Honda pulled out of Europe, closing down its U.K factory affecting up to around 20,000 jobs (including supply chain) because it didn't believe in EV.
EV destroyed Swindon.
That's motability that's paying the £750 not Peugeot, nothing to do with EV they pay it on all vehicles. And there are still ice vehicles being sold through it.
@@rossclarke8028 sorry I have no idea what your talking about tbh.

@@rossclarke8028 😂 no problem.
I have trouble keeping my phone charged. An EV wouldn't work for me I guess.
They'll just blame Rowan Atkinson again and not the real problems with EVs.
And do we really believe all these figures ? ....I would take them with a pinch of salt !!
When you try to trade in your EV for a new EV and the dealer won’t trade it in that tells you have made a mistake
Insufficient discounts and still will not buy a Tesla combuster, or any other vehicle powered by an accumulator.
Ev’s are still way too expensive despite the discounts. Remember when they were first introduced, we were told that the costs would fall dramatically as more and more people bought them.
