In Matthew 11 Jesus' mission is growing and news about his works are spreading quickly. Soon this news reaches the imprisoned John the Baptist. ... So when he heard of Jesus' fame, he wanted to verify whether or not Christ was the promised Messiah.
(1) Christ's preaching.
(2-6) Christ's answer to John's disciples.
(7-15) Christ's testimony to John the Baptist.
(16-24) The perverseness of the Jews.
(25-30) The gospel revealed to the simple. The heavy-laden invited.
This is Matthew chapter 11 summary and this chapter will feature Jesus’ thoughts on John the Baptist among other things. Jesus just sent His twelve disciples to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and to teach and preach the gospel, heal, and do the kingdom of heaven stuff.
When they left, Jesus also went about teaching and preaching. John the Baptist was in prison at the time and he’d heard about Jesus preaching and teaching. He sent his two disciples to enquire about Jesus if He was the One.
They asked Jesus and He told them to observe the works being performed; the dead are raised, the blind can see, “report that to John.” As they left to report, Jesus asked the crowd what they wanted from John the Baptist? What did they go to the wilderness to see him for?
He also praised John as being the greatest to be born of a woman but quickly devalued the praise. He did so by saying the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than John (that should be a blow to our egos).
Jesus compared John’s style to His and how the people balked at both; John was too radical they thought, the Son of man to common. This generation is never satisfied, still, wisdom is shown to be right by what it does.
The chapter concluded as the Holy Messiah went to towns and upbraided them for not repenting. Upbraid meant to harshly criticize and reprimand because they’d seen many miracles and still hadn’t repented.
Tyre, Sidon, Sodom, and Gomorrah, evil cities of the past will have more tolerable time at the judgment than some of the cities Jesus went to and performed miracles and strong teachings. Jesus even prayed to the Father thanking the Father for not conferring this to the wise and prudent.
Instead, it seemed good to the Father to reveal everything to the babes. At the end of the chapter, Jesus simply asked those heavy laden and burdened to come to Him; He would give them rest because His yoke is easy and His burden light.
This is the summary of Matthew chapter 11, glory to the Father on High.
It follows Jesus' instructions to the apostles about taking His message and miracles to the towns of Israel with His own continued ministry of teaching (Matthew 10). Jesus answers a question from John the Baptist's followers, and upholds John's ministry. Jesus condemns several cities in Galilee for rejecting His teaching, despite obvious signs. He thanks His Father for hiding the truth from those who arrogantly think they are wise. He offers rest for those who will take His yoke. This leads to further confrontations with critics, recorded in chapter 12.

இதோ, நான் என் தூதனை உமக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்புகிறேன், அவன் உமக்கு முன்னே போய், உமது வழியை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுவான் என்று எழுதிய வாக்கியத்தால் குறிக்கப்பட்டவன் யார்,
இயேசு எவைகளை கடிந்துகொள்ளத் தொடங்கினார்,
எங்கே பலத்த செய்கைகள் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்ததானால், அப்பொழுதே இரட்டுடுத்திச் சாம்பலில் உட்கார்ந்து மனந்திரும்பியிருப்பார்கள்,
நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே எவைகளுக்கு நேரிடுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும், தீருவுக்கும் சீதோனுக்கும் நேரிடுவது இலகுவாயிருக்கும் என்றார்,
வானபரியந்தம் உயர்த்தப்பட்ட எது பாதாளபரியந்தம் தாழ்த்தப்படும் என்றார்,
௧ப்பர்நகூமில் செய்யப்பட்ட பலத்த செய்கைகள் எங்கே செய்யப்பட்டிருந்ததானால், அது இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்,
ஞானிகளுக்கும் கல்விமான்களுக்கும் மறைத்து, யாருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது,
சகலமும் பிதாவினால் யாருக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது,
பிதா தவிர வேறொருவனும் _____ அறியான்,
குமாரனும், குமாரன் எவனுக்கு அவரை வெளிப்படுத்தச் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறாரோ அவனும் தவிர, வேறொருவனும் _____ அறியான்.
வருத்தப்பட்டுப் பாரஞ்சுமக்கிறவர்களே! நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள், நான் உங்களுக்கு ________ தருவேன்.
சாந்தமும் மனத்தாழ்மையுமாய் இருக்கிறவர் யார்,
