- Hello everyone and happy February! We are starting this month with a video covering Frollo, the jerk from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He's mean and cruel, but at the end of the day, he was reading everyone for filth and I guess this channel has a thing for making videos on these types of dudes.
He's been suggested a few times in the comments, and to be honest, I never watched the movie until I saw those comments.... and OMG I'm so glad I did, what a great movie.

For real though, frollo was literally the most evil villain Disney ever turned into a cartoon. He literally murdered, tortured, abused, and sexually harrased people all in the name of service to a holy power. Completely twisted. Modern Disney villains don't even come close.

Similar to Mother Gothel, Frollo is one of those villains that get so evil and sinister the more you get older. He represent the very worst aspects of humanity, especially religious fanaticism and misogyny towards WOCs. That what makes him brilliant, you are repulsed by his actions because he does exist in real life.
Plus, Hellfire is so iconic that there hasn’t been a villain song for a while until Princess And The Frog. Props to Alan Menkin. 🔥

Fun fact: Both gargoyles and grotesques have been attributed with the power to ward off evil spirits, guarding the buildings they occupy and protecting those inside. They also provide the site with symbolic protection. Often frightening in some aspects, they represent monsters inspired by fantastic bestiaries, wild or domestic beasts, and even mankind. They're often meant to be like God himself is watching over the place so when the gargoyle snarled at Frollo and then proceeded to yeet that bitch, it was basically God saying "Fuck you, burn in Hell"
(They do have a physical purpose which is to drain rainwater to keep the stone from being damaged by excess runoff, but that's less interesting)
