    I have both conditions at a different time. Their symptoms are the same. It must be determined by MRI. These tests can't tell. What made me suspicious was that I already had frozen shoulder and recovered by itself. How can be second time again? I went to MRI, found out this time is rotate cuff tear. I suggest everyone should go for MRI, but insurance company makes you do X ray first. They will not approve MRI without x Ray. X ray is for bone and MRI is for other soft tissues. X ray can't see, but this is insurance requirement.

    Yes so many doctors have no clue about these simple tests they just require expensive MRIs not even that but the reports! which may be even partially correct and things missed with it, as they have no idea what they are looking at or how to assess it without technology having to tell them
    anyway what i wonder is - are these tests dangerous in case you have tears in your tendons? can these tests make the tears worse?
    thank you

    • @drsinghtastic
      @drsinghtastic หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, we cannot totally rely on clinical bed side tests, as these are only helpful in screening. I do perform most of these tests in my office on every single patient of mine. However in order to get a confirmation of partial tears vs complete tears. MRI is still the best imaging technology we have today

    I hurt my shoulder on a bad fall about 4 months ago. Left shoulder issues. Now constant pain. Been to 2 doctors now, and I think I'm dealing with Subscapularis tear issues. Had x-ray to confirm I have arthritis and probably messed up some tendons. It's all new to me. SIGH. The caregiver was thoughtful and professional to me when I asked for options. Physical therapy perhaps, but now I'm thinking I might as well go ahead to do an MRI and get over the guessing game. Help, anybody?

    I went to a physio with one sore shoulder and left with two. She pushed down on my blades and told me this should feel alot of relief. And it wasn't feeling anything. Since then my other shoulder has become so loose I do not know what the hell she's done and am scared to go again.. this video is so complicated but seriously thorough I just don't know where to begin or what to do . I've started exercising to try healing myself but even doing sit-ups on the ground sometimes hurts my shoulders.. sleeping hurts in the morning.. etc etc. What can I do?.

    • @popmetalprints8871
      @popmetalprints8871 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd look for a therapist that perhaps has some better communication. It's unlikely that your shoulders would become loose after she pushed down on your shoulder blades. Find a good physio or sports therapist that will get a full history from you and can diagnose you. It's likely not just your shoulder, but also other external things in your life that are also contributing. Eg. stress, poor sleep, poor nutrition and poor hydration. The therapist should be asking you a lot of questions. Also, in terms of exercises, start withe very simple things. Look up some isometric exercises and low resistance band rotator cuff exercises for shoulder instability.

    What I don't understand is why you don't just send him off to get an MRI to know once and for all what's happening. All these tests are simple and easy, I get it, but the reality is that you might as well know exactly what's happening and how bad it is.

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can present this way, and simply have a frozen shoulder which does not require any diagnostic imaging whatsoever and just conservative treatment. That is the problem with the medical system. Too much over utilization of imaging and other tests were not necessary.

    • @mrbenn4385

      Not easy to refer for MRI in UK unless you have already done these tests.

    • @devvildogg1775
      @devvildogg1775 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These tests can help aid in diagnosing but I fully agree as someone who has had a labrum tear, had surgery, and now have the SAME pain and symptoms as before but now they diagnosed me with impingement and no MRI referral. I had creptius (crackling noise during rotation and movement) while still 3 months post op and they said it’s normal and possibly caused by inflammation. So I “pushed through” and went back on full duty (AD Marine) but then a couple weeks after injured it again. It’s now 2 months later and I’m fighting for a second opinion so I can get an MRI. They don’t give out MRIs for impingement cuz it’s not surgical. I am beyond impatient at this point and the earliest they can schedule me a second opinion is after the holidays which will be almost 3 months since my last injury. And all they had to do was a simple MRI and could have spared me much pain, suffering, and anxiety.
