    Rachel Siu is a 20-year-old Australian cellist who took part in the Youth Music Culture Guangdong (YMCG) festival in Guangzhou, China, where she got the chance to perform alongside her idol.
    World-renowned musician Yo-Yo Ma spent 10 days working with Rachel and other young musicians at the event before a marathon concert for the public.

      No, that is actually incorrect. She chose to play cello and loved it when she played

    High approval for this. It's very beneficial for young people (and all people) to come together to play. I remember doing similar things in the fifties (but not at this level) and I have pleasant memories almost 70 years later. It was also interesting to see Yo Yo Ma playing in the back row of the cellos. I'll bet it was a special kind of fun for him to be playing without the focus on him; just one of the guys.

    Rachel Siu should get a gig going with Tal Wilkerfeld ,Nita Strauss & Kitty Staunton they all play or sing at a amazing level something great would come from it.

    sometimes i dont get asian culture
    this young woman loves music
    there are some fine conservatories in australia and elsewhere
    dont have to get into juliard to make it

      If you start playing an instrument today, at first you will suck at it, then you will be kinda bad, then kinda ok, and if you keep practicing you will get good at it. Try a ukulele :) cheap, easy to play, pleasant sound.
