Much respect. As someone who works in a Cemetery (multi faith) in USA, I find your discussion very scholarly and respectful. You are doing a very fine service to those who need you. I think in todays world, we dont understand as a society the importance of collectively respecting the body. God bless us all. Eddy
I am a devout Christian but this filled me with so much awe and respect for my Muslim brothers and sisters. The respect and kindness shown during the whole process and the meaning behind every action. Thankyou for posting this.
First, as a non-Muslim I just want to say thank you for this insightful and well-done video. I lost both my parents within a short time of each other and it was tough dealing with the burial arrangements along with the grief. I think this is something we all need to go through regardless of our beliefs. We go through life without thinking of our mortality and is probably why the world is full of the evil contained within it... As we come to this earth with nothing, so shall we leave... Each and every one of us... But people don't want to think of death and what comes after.
This video was so well made (videography, quality etc) and increased my knowledge of Islam on these topics, I hope you make more videos in this documentary style on important islamic topics
Thank you for this extremely professional, dignified, enlightening and insightful procedures into the burial process for Islam. I, am from a different religious background and found your classroom teaching appropriate, compassionate and respectful. Again, thank you for taking the time.
60 years ago in America my father worked at a funeral home while he was pursuing school. He saw everything in the American industry, both new and very old. So he learned the old practices as well as the current. Over here, digging the space for the body with the dirt shelf on either side to hold the wood boards was called “digging a grave vault”, as opposed to setting a concrete shell over a casket and calling that a vault. As his oldest son, he told me often through the years exactly how he wished to be handled and buried. And why he wanted it! Washed and not embalmed with chemicals pumped in to replace his blood and stop natural deterioration back to dust. Even down to how his grave was to be dug. His desire was just exactly as you have shown here. But when the day came, my younger middle brother pressured my mother in an unrelenting way to have Dad’s body prepared and buried in the manner of my brother’s choosing, contrary to Dad’s wishes. There was much conflict, but my mother gave in and agreed to what he wanted thinking it would create the least conflict and confusion with other relatives. I grieve that my father was so disrespected when he had been such an honorable man in life. For myself, I am fortunate to know that my son who will handle my arrangements when my day comes will do them very specifically and proper. Thank you for showing and teaching this information to so many who do not know. May you be blessed for your kindness and service.
Lost my mom a little bit more than 3 months ago,my aunts and my sister cleaned my mom,i couldn't do anything but crying for 3 days it was devastating, but i took care for my mom till the last day 💔💔😭😭😭
I'm a woman from the United States, raised Roman Catholic. I'm so tired of some people not even UNDERSTANDING the Muslim Faith, and making rude, hurtful comments. The RESPECT & HONOR the Muslim Faith monitors upon a person's death, is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, I don't think any other Faith monitors such things at all!! This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, educational, touching & heartwarming! Other "Faiths" should take lessons!! I wish nothing but blessings to you all in video, and to your families!!! The world is Blessed even MORE with ALL of you in it!!🙏🙏🙏 -Marcie/ USA
Mr. Hakeem made some poignant and insightful remarks, that are pertinent to people of all faiths (or none). We are but dust, and to dust we shall return. What do we wish to be remembered for when our own time comes to be laid to rest? May you, and your brother who conducts Ghusl, be blessed for all you both do, to honour the departed.
Assalam alaikum I am a Muslim women and really really scared to see the end of human as I have done so much bad work 😢really asking forgiveness from my allah to forgive me what I have done Please do remember me in your dua that if I am going to live long Insha Allah may Allah give me hidaya and make me a good Muslim and end up my life in correct path ameen
God is the most merciful please don't let your guilt consume you like this. Ask for mercy and forgiveness and move on as a better person. Don't allow the guilt and shame consume your soul, make you depressed, and lead you out of Islam because that is very possible when someone is that guilt ridden tbh
Indeed sister Allah SWT is all mighty n often forgiving his human subjects. From this day ask for forgiveness and live the the rest of your life with clear heart n clean conscious and love others equally 💖 Ameen.
To many muslims who are thinking that in my area its done differently , understand that some of the burying rituals may differ from country to country and area to area but the wajib parts of the burial is same across the world and from the sunnah. May Allah swt protect us from any biddah and give us an honorable and peaceful death and make us of the people of jannah inshallah.
Thank you for showing the proper procedures for the grave sight. This gentleman was professional, sincere and godly. Wonderful explanation and patience with the younger set and the importance of educating and what is truly important in life and death.
I worked as an Embalming assistant. We always covered the private parts with a wash cloth or a towel. We also used cotton to clean what called features cleaned we had stuff to sanitize as well. We used cotton this would help preservation.
This is really informative. It's interesting to see how other people in the world care for their dead. It looks different than what i want when i die, but i respect the amount of care and consideration in every step of this. Thank you for sharing something so intimate and personal.
This is fascinating! It would be very helpful to have certain key words shown on the screen - such as ghusl, wudu, kafan, mahram, haram, jenazah - I had to guess the spellings and then Google the words.
Oh Allah please grant us and our families a long life filled with good deeds and good health, please give us a good end as true believing a Muslim with qalbun saleem (pure heart) and a true accepted repentance for all of our sins. Protect us from the punishment of the grave and allow us to be among the 70,000 with no hisab sent directly to the highest level of Jannah. Ameen.
@30min Muslims should be taught to do justice, this topic always seem to get left out by preachers eg Surah 4.135, 5.8, 3.118 should have been the top priority, yet these concepts are never passed on.
Depending on when they had the body, it does eventually go away. But i wouldnt be surprised if it was just rigor mortis since islamic burials happen fast after a death
It was not the quran but an arabic poem. This is what I found in the description Name of Poem: Aya man Yaddaee Al Fahm the name of the Poet: El Sheikh Mashary Rashed El Afasi. He is also a famous reciter of the quran, I recomend!

[Kattani, Munyat al-Sa’il]
It was narrated that Samurah ibn Jundub said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Wear white, for it is cleaner and purer, and shroud your dead in it.” (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, 2810; classed as authentic by Shaykh Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him))
report narrated by Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Wear white garments, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud, 3878; classed as authentic by Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Abu Dawud)
It was narrated from `A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) [was shrouded] in three pieces of white cloth. (Narrated by Al-Bukhari, 1264 and Muslim, 941).

Muslims and ancient Egypts have the most beautiful and dignified burials and funeral traditions.

The greatest way of life is the one you feel is best and that’s ok, aslong as you don’t hurt anyone with that way.
