I wonder what is the percentage of oily skin population in this universe because I am one of them and most of the content on TH-cam and social media in general is catered towards people with normal to dry skin and we oily people are being told that we are oily because we are not hydrated enough. Trust me, I am fully hydrated inside and out and my skin is still oily. Thank you Nikki for this content. As someone with very oily skin, I have shy away from make-up to avoid them melting and caking on my skin. Your contents on oily skin and products suggestion make it easier to navigate and ease in and give me the courage to play more with make-up.

I’m also extremely oily. You can be hydrated to the stars and back and the oil still breaks through even with proper mattifying products. I’ve tried everything and it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference. It’s a body chemistry issue, skin prep and manipulating outside factors doesn’t really affect that.

As an oily girly i find that using a makeup sponge and forgoing the brush altogether gives the best finish... Kinda pushes the foundation into the pores and minimizes the disturbance of spf and primer underneath. I also like to use puffs (like the tati beauty one) for my primer to keep my fingers clean😊 for those of you struggling with how much pressure to use with your foundation brushes or dont wanna use your fingers these tools i memtioned above might be easier to get started

Even if I dnt wear any makeup, I apply these products everyday with a very thin layer of loose translucent powder between each product.

That fenty eye primer is THE BEST eye primer I have ever tried. And I am so sad because they stopped selling it in my sephora both online and in store. With this primer my eyeshadow does not move, does not crease and the colors are more intense than with all the other primers I have. And I am someone with very oily eyelids. I need primer. With that primer you just need the tiniest bit and blend it well all over the lid and let it dry a little bit and it works wonders.

Japanese sunscreens have been really great for my oily skin; the Nivea version used to be better priced than the Biore on Amazon but that could have changed. They dry down matte, so good for oily gals. You and Mitch do such a great job YT; love his commentary lol. ❤

At 32 years old not only do I have extremely oily skin. I also have mild rosacea with eczema flair ups from time to time. So not only do I have to cater to oily skin products, I have to make sure they're fragrance free to not aggravate my skin. I use CeraVe or Cetaphil face washes. I currently purchased Olay sensative soothing moisturizer with colloidal oatmeal. I ALWAYS use sunscreen. I make sure to protect my rosacea, I do not want to aggravate my skin. I use Hero spf 30 sunscreen. Its a mineral sunscreen and doesn't feel greasy, very light and doesn't make my skin itch. For foundation I'll either go with tarte bb cream primer or with Maybelline skin tint and I'll use Tarte concealer for the areas that need help. To set everything I currently use Maybelline loose powder, it's good but I'm currently trying to find something better for my skin, I havent found any setting sprays that help me without irritating my skin ... just thought I'd leave something for someone with similar skin as mine.
Extremely oily with rosacea and eczema 😊

For under the eyes I love the It cosmetics bye bye under eye. Its full coverage and looks super smooth and hydrated, doesn't need a lot of powder. I have a lot of fine lines and it looks great; plus it doesn't get messed up if my eyes get teary because its water resistant. Its not as great on my face though. Ill try the MUFE as a eyes and face product, see how it looks over fine lines and texture.

Perhaps this isn’t the correct video to make this suggestion in the comments but I am here so I figured I would ask. Please Nikki, it would be so helpful if you could do videos for each skin type (I am combo oily) for travel! Product recommendations that are easy to travel with! And also! How to select the right shade when you tan on a Caribbean getaway! I am going on vacay soon and I am thinking of mixing two foundations to customize the right look or tow concealers. God knows! Some help would be so appreciated! I tan so quickly so I know if I travel with my current Dior Backstage foundation, by day two it’ll look like a mask! So what shade to pick for mixing?

I also want to add about oily gals and pals, drink water! Tea, liquids etc! Took me 20 years to realize that the extra sebum my skin was producing was from a lack of internal hydration first and foremost! When I started drinking more and eating less sugar, skin balanced out. Yes I am still a bit combo T zone oily, but not like before! I was so greasy, like I dipped my face in a thick pan of melted lard!

Can I also suggest tizo3 primer sunscreen! It’s been soooooo amazing 😻!! It is great for oily skin and while it’s expensive it means 1 step instead of two so 1 product. The tizo3 is slightly tinted which gives the pore concealing blurring effect! I can’t say enough about this!!

The Huda powder is SO heavy and cakey and my face becomes a huge greaseball within two hours. The only powders that work are the HD powders with silica. However the flashback on those is crazy! I can’t seem to find an all over face powder that keeps oil at bay without flashback. The Givency is too heavy also greasy also. 😭😭

Has anyone applied foundation and it becomes red, like a red base.
And what amazing education on makeup. Have you worked with folks with oily skin, enlarged pores. It took years to find a great foundation. It was perfect and lasted much longer than most. It was the Lancôme 24 hr TEINT IDOLE ULTRA WEAR. Then recently Lancôme decided to discontinue the foundation and re-invent the classic foundation. My problem the new Lancôme foundation is greasy and doesn’t cover like the classic foundation.

Beekman has been great to me. Not a huge fan of their face cleansers. Love the toners and night time products.
Personally, I try to keep day time products minimal... clean, tone, environmental care and then SPF. My favorite SPF is a tinted broad spectrum 40 from Elta.
Therefore, it depends on what makeup and application can make or break.
Not a fan of primer - perhaps I haven't found the right one.

I have oily skin and I’ve used plenty of sunscreens, innisfree, etude house, isntree, biore, skin1004 etc and they’re all not oily skin friendly even tho some were gel and recommended for oily skin. Biore gel is good but patch tests under the sun showed that its efficacy was poor in terms of protection, you can look it up. Only two weeks ago I discovered Kose Cosmeport Suncut perfect UV gel. They have essence, milk or gel options. I just use hada labo’s hydrating premium lotion > moisturizer and then the sunscreen. It doesn’t pill my makeup, it sits beautifully under makeup and it doesn’t make my skin even more greasy. It legit feels like you’re not wearing anything. It’s super water proof. It sets matte and doesn’t have that oily matte feeling, it’s just like your skin when you didn’t apply anything. Highly recommend for my oily skin gals. It’s SPF50PA+++. I only use minimum spf50 and nothing under. Btw this is not sponsored ok

Nobody ever believed me when I told them how oily I was lol, I’m talking I had to was my hair everyday and when I woke in the morning it looked like I just slathered on bacon grease . I’m 52 now and it has calmed down but I still can get super oily if it’s warmer outside. I’m not bitching by any means , it’s kept the wrinkles at bay but my pores are larger cause of it and I do hate that.

Dior Forever Matte is a really beautiful formula for oily skin, and especially for mature oily skin, but since they updated the formula it begins oxidizing both on the skin and even in the bottle in as little as three months. To get my money's worth out of the product, I've started mixing it with a lighter shade of ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation.

That sunscreen has a shiny and sightly oily finish, and its smells like alcohol. I initially regretted getting it, but its grown on me, particularly because it sets to a transfer resistant film, despite the glossyness of it (which isnt terrible), and because it doesnt break me out terribly in a couple of uses (every other korean/japanese sunscreen ive tried breaks me out); though im not sure its completely safe in that regard. Its great under makeup too, foundations blend really well on top of it. I just skip moisturizer and put this on over top a liquid bha product. Thanks for sharing it :)
