I ride a longboard myself (not electric) I think one thing you will need to get used to is the turning radius for a longboard itself is not as great as compared to your ebike or escooter. Also, a hidden philosophy for all new skateboarders/long boarders you will eventually fall . Having that fear of not falling will slow you down in your potential of riding this new electric longboard. I recommend looking into how to fall properly off a longboard and slowly let that fear go of falling so you can feel just as comfortable on your bike and scooter , and with each mistake you make you genuinely will become a better rider and more confident on your board. And keep the speed moderate going 20 mph on an electric longboard is not the same as going 20mph on an e-bike and escooter. Though some people don't take that advice cuz where is the fun in that :)

All while sweating like hell because I wasn't used to moving like that lol What I've learned so far is, you feel awkward/ stupid as hell starting... but it's rewarding once you start to make progress and improving. Like I was telling Lemon in the other comment, it feels like starting a new character in an RPG lol. I'm hoping that you've played some video games before so that reference makes sense lol
@@eyebahnrides I'm a big gamer so I get the reference, haha. I didn't consider how much of a workout it must be to ESK8, I'll have to keep that in mind! The Klima is great so far. I definitely have to get adjusted to it, especially having all that power and range at my fingertips is a little overwhelming at the moment, but overall I couldn't be happier 😁
Looks like your doing just fine for first day! One thing I did when I first started ESK8 was I scouted out a route around my house that I know had the smoothest road and I knew where all the manholes/road hazards were. That way anytime I just wanted to go out and skate w/o having to worry too much about that stuff , I would already have a route instead of just riding in a random direction and have to be on constant lookout for stuff, hope this helps , and stay safe!

Ahh i miss esk8 lol...some tips i would give: - it helps if you go to your local park and practice turning around a large object. Helps with cornering and checking if you need to loosen or tighten your trucks. - braking works the same as scooters so definitely lean back when braking. -potholes and metal grates are your worst enemy lol. Avoid at all costs hehe. - lastly when you get comfortable leaning and turning, you can start carving which is super fun. Best of luck Ivan 🙌🏼
come back to the dark side!! Thanks for the advice Jeff, I really appreciate it. I found a full basketball court in my area that I could do tight figure 8s in. I just need to either wake up early or do it at night because all these damn parks are always so damn busy lol. I actually switched to goofy on my scooter so that I can practice the braking lean and I'm trying to use my bars less! I'll keep that in mind with the potholes and metal lol. I can't wait to carve. That's the primary reason I got the board. I want to be chill and swaggy while I do those big surf like carves lol. Then I can be like that guy in the west coast that carries those giant light sticks and look like a Sith Lord on an Esk8😂
Thank you for the encouragement! Your videos and Drew's videos actually inspired me into getting a board so I appreciate ya. I'm so eager to be able to shred through the city like yall do. Anyways, speedy recovery bossman. I hope the fractures heal quickly so that you can get back on the road.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've got my first board coming this week, a Tynee Mini 3, but I'm hoping it won't be too hard to learn because I ride my longboard often! Love the content.
Congrats on your first board! The Mini 3 looks like a fun compact board that you can really rip around in. I love the design of it and it reminds me of the boards I grew up riding with. The long board experience is definitely going to help you. If I can do it with over 20+ years away from skateboarding, you can definitely learn it super quick. Btw, I've been enjoying the esk8 so much that I'm thinking of picking up a push long board as well! Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!

I have the regen settings set on my scooter so I don't blow out anything, but I'll have to look into that on the AT2+ BTW that's crazy you've already taken it on hills lol
thanks for watching the video! Bro my legs have been shot the 2 days I've rode it lol. Because I had some memory card issues I'm actually going to be missing day 2 of the series so Episode 2 will likely resume with my day 3. But day really means 1 hour of riding lol. I know the shorter videos are easier to watch in one sitting compared to the longer "full ride" style videos, so I'm trying to do more of them. I'm going to reduce the full rides to once a month if I can and I'll try to feature each PEV atleast once a month. At this point, I feel like I want to make 2 videos a week but thats a massive time commitment that my work schedule can't support right now =(.
Thank you sirr!!! DOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. We can be like that swaggy Tony Hawk lady that was in your group ride video, minus the swag lol
One of the biggest tips I got was to look forward. It’s sort of obvious but not obvious. Definitely need to build my feet strength though since they start to hurt after a while haha Another tip is to remember to turn your remote off since you can send your board off without realizing haha my cousin almost hit my car one time 😅
Thanks for watching the video and welcome back to the comments section! I appreciate the advice, though the turning off the board one is a bit late lol. I actually had it shoot off in the bikelane while I was trying to tie my shoes really quick. Thank god I only had it in mode 1 so I got it to stop right away lol. I've had a few days on it now and my legs and feet are always so sore after. I haven't even attempted any of those weird one kneeling squat thing that everyone does to get low to the ground lol. All those years of squatting heavy, didn't prepare me for this!
@@eyebahnrides You're selling me on the lower body workout too, lol! I didn't really think about it while watching your video earlier, but anytime we try something new like this, the natural tendency is to tense up and fight the board until you get proficient at it. Not to mention, I'm sure you're using muscles and stabilizing muscles differently than you ever would in a gym, and for longer durations. I would imagine the burn and soreness is real, especially when starting out!
@@ssoffshore5111 Another awesome selling point! As a pretty avid gym goer in my past and as person whose also done years of martial arts, this is something right down the middle lol. My core, my legs, and all the fine motor muscles that have never been used in that way were shot after this first day! My lower body felt like I was holding a wall squat, on my toes, while moving, for 90 minutes lol.
Thanks for watching the video and thank you for the advice. By the end of this first day, I started to learn that I needed to be as aggressive with my stance as I am on the Nami. It doesn't pull like the Nami but I don't have the handlebars and stem to pull me forward lol. I didn't think of the train thing, I'll def be more mindful of that!
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Steven! Hahaha I appreciate ya and I'm glad to help grow the esk8 family. Let me know how it goes for you and make sure you wear protective gear. Episode 2 comes out tomorrow so you'll see an update on my progress lol.

Hello again I was wondering what exact helmet (and size) you use if you dont mind me asking? Also your height as well would be appreciated thanks! This seems like its gonna be a great series!
Thanks for watching the first video in the series, I'm glad you enjoyed it! To give you an idea, I wear a 7 1/2 in the fitted baseball hats (59Fifty brand) and my helmet size is a large. Im about 5'8 190lb with out gear over 200+ with gear and work bag. I hope this helps!
Nice first day! Your legs will need to get use to the riding position. You are using a lot of muscles you don’t normally use. Did you ever snowboard before? How does it compare to learning to ride EUCs for the first time?? I feel like EUC was the hardest for me to learn.
Thanks Erock, I survived! I think my legs are much more sore on the esk8 than when I learned EUC. I never snowboarded but I "ski boarded" once lol. I used to ride a bit as a wee little teenager so I feel some of the muscle memory kicking in when I was riding. I was able to ride esk8 off the bat when I met with @DrewElia and it's been an easier learning curve in the beginning. It took be about 30 minutes of drills and 15 minutes of attempts to be able to push off and ride the V11. I think once I put my first 100 miles on the board, I'll be as good on it as I was with my V11 (it took me 100 miles to be comfortable riding the crazy mode on the v11). After 250 miles, I was a hooligan riding with traffic and dodging cars lol. Have you tried esk8 before?
@@eyebahnrides yeah I agree it’s usually around the 100 mile mark where you can have a little more confidence riding. Believe it or not, esk8 was my first ever PEV! But it was one that only went like 15mph which made me Segway to the onewheel and then more and more…
Keep in mind the faster you go the tighter the bushings should be as a newbie. Better to have to turn your board using your foot than getting speed wobbles at 25mph! BTW, did you know how to ride a manual non-powered board before hopping on an electric one?
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the Channel Arrow1! Yup, my buddy Drew helped me tighten the trucks so that it was a bit stiffer. My biggest fear when starting was getting the speed wobbles lol. My biggest accident on my skateboard in highschool was because I took my board and rode it down a steep hill. I knew I messed up when it was wobbling half way through. I thought I could save it but it literally threw me off eventually. Prior to jumping onto this board, the last time I was on a skateboard was in high school (2004). It was a classic world industries setup from my local skate shop. I've actually never actually ridden a long board before lol.

Thanks, I appreciate the vote of confidence! I think riding a scooter and EUC has given me a decent foundation to build on because it trained my fine motor skills and sense of balance. Oh man, I see a lot of scooter riders do that. I'm glad I never got into the habit of pushing off like that. I feel like thats a fast track to unnecessary falls lol. Speaking of unnecessary, I tried to switch my stance and almost crashed hahaha. I've been looking into skating shoes but I'm being cheap. I told my wife next time we stop by the mall I may pick up a pair but only for the right price. My chucks and my other adidas just look clean in the videos lol. They're pretty beat up but remain relatively clean cus I wear dress shoes everyday. The only problem I've run into is they grip too much when I try to foot break.
Then I can be like that guy in the west coast that carries those giant light sticks and look like a Sith Lord on an Esk8😂
keep at it ✔️✔️🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you for the encouragement!
@@eyebahnrides I recommend a board from Loaded or Pantheon, they make high quality stuff. I chose the Loaded Pantheon Trip and love it. I’m sure we’ll be in touch moving forwards! I’ll let you know how my first ride goes haha 😂
@@DX48H9WM thanks, I’ll check those out! Def let me know how it goes!
@@eyebahnridesit didn’t go too well lol, I blew a motor riding down a hill! I have some insane hills around here and think I pushed it too hard. I didn’t know the motors worked going down hills! They sent me a replacement motor, coming from China now.
@@DX48H9WM oh man that sucks! You might have to dial back the regen settings for your area. You just taught me something new. I didn't know that was an option on eskateboads. I have the regen settings set on my scooter so I don't blow out anything, but I'll have to look into that on the AT2+
BTW that's crazy you've already taken it on hills lol
Love the shorter videos lately. That eskate looks fun but also a lower body workout 🤣
thanks for watching the video!
At this point, I feel like I want to make 2 videos a week but thats a massive time commitment that my work schedule can't support right now =(.
another great video brother ! we'll see if i end up with a One wheel GT xD
Definitely need to build my feet strength though since they start to hurt after a while haha
Another tip is to remember to turn your remote off since you can send your board off without realizing haha my cousin almost hit my car one time 😅
Thanks for watching the video and welcome back to the comments section!
And great tip on the remote guys!!!
@@ssoffshore5111 Another awesome selling point! As a pretty avid gym goer in my past and as person whose also done years of martial arts, this is something right down the middle lol. My core, my legs, and all the fine motor muscles that have never been used in that way were shot after this first day! My lower body felt like I was holding a wall squat, on my toes, while moving, for 90 minutes lol.
braking & taking off is like a scooter leaning forward taking off & backward stopping like on a train
If you can do it so can I...LOL 😀 so i pulled the trigger today on an eskate to so I will be learning along side you..👍
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Steven! Hahaha I appreciate ya and I'm glad to help grow the esk8 family. Let me know how it goes for you and make sure you wear protective gear. Episode 2 comes out tomorrow so you'll see an update on my progress lol.
@@eyebahnrides can't wait...I'm waiting on derlivery now but ive not ridden a skate board for 40yrs so will be learning from you..I got the Evolve Hadean...👊
But it was one that only went like 15mph which made me Segway to the onewheel and then more and more…
Yo yo yo yo
Yo yo yoooo, whats good teddy!
Thanks for answering. Will we ever see edited versions of the two hidden videos with the things that got them hidden left out?
@@arrow1414 The hidden videos are actually uploads of some of the current episodes that ran into an error during the upload process. There is a video that I'm working on that's scheduled to come out on 9/29. Even when I permanently deleted the videos from the channel, they still seem to still show up on the play list!
Update: I just learned how to clean up those ghost videos so there shouldnt be any!
How you doing
When you hit a dip bend your knees and go with the that's when you're going little bit faster have fun and be careful . I have a meepol board and I've been riding for but the same and it's a lot of fun
It was supposed to say I've been riding for 5 years
Just be safe and watch out for the cars 🙏👍😁
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! It's been a few weeks now since I started learning how to ride and I'm a bit more comfortable now. I had my first major fall, which set me back a little bit, but I'm back at it trying to get better. Thank you for the advice! Every bit helps and I hope to be commuting with it in the next month. I have Episode 2 and 3 out already while episode 4 is planned to come out next week if you want to check them out!
It looks like you had speedwell
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel!
You did pretty good for someone that hasn't rid in a while.
I ride goofy as well,I think I tried Mongo in grade school and busted my behind.
Might want to get some BMX/Skate thicker soles on the bottom of you skate sneakers.
Are they skate sneakers ?
Look way to clean 😂😂😂😂😂
I almost did a split the other day when the sneakers bit into the ground!
Try to set up your speed equal to your run speed in case you have to start running away from your board!
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel merweo! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate ya! I learned that the hard way a few weeks after the release of this video. I got a little too comfortable and a little too confident, so I ended up falling pretty hard lol.
